true. Bollywood has recycled their masala films for far too long. But I still feel Kashyap has a long way to go before he starts acting like King of Bollywood. His ideas are original, but are often under-baked if you will. In other words the work is doesn't feel very refined. Gulaal seemed like an intense political thriller when it started out, but fizzled out into some cheap love/drama/romance by the end. He seems to perpetuate the same themes of tragedy, loss, and sorrow and to some extent tries to mimic Hollywood. Furthermore I saw both films in GoW series, and I felt that a lot of the dialogue was contrived. He tried too hard to take a hindi movie and make it look like a Hollywood crime film, and it fell a little short. Nonetheless, I still feel that Kashyap has made some groundbreaking developments in Indian cinema and certainly should be honored for that.
@bhoumik4
@bhoumik4 10 жыл бұрын
Sadly though, I feel that this guy has his nose high in the air. He has an air of arrogance about him, and needs to settle down. Kashyap is good, but he isn't the best of the best.

I have no idea who this guy is who, nor do I know who ANY of the people are who are mentioned in the comments. We don't get Bollywood films in the US except in special film festivals. I watched this video bcz a friend recommended that I hear his story. He seems like a credible, intelligent & visionary person. I'm not sure what the bitching is about. Bollywood isn't well known outside of Asia so you might want to be more supportive of your filmmakers so that all might succeed beyond your borders.

India has no literature and lot of cinema. !!!!!!!!!. Yes India has a lot of cinema but it has greatest literature. I like his work and I am a fan but how these people have the audacity to go out of India and speak such things just to suit there narrative. Just because you have not read literature or you do not know does not mean it does not exist. I was so excited to watch this. But such disappointment. Could not even finish it. UP gov used to pay him subsidy to make films to encourage literature. Clearly the money has rightfully stopped. Shameful.
