Did she come up with the line: "Mediocrity is crowded but if you rise up to excellence there's a lot more space"? Fantastic metaphor. Most powerful of all is her humility.

Yes, I'm willing....I randomly ran across this video and it's so funny how in 5 weeks I'll be moving to Paris France,from Long Beach California without knowing a soul. It has been a dream since I was in my twenties and after being laid off from my job in the same Industry three times I knew it was time to make a change and I know when I get to Paris my life will be "Barely recognizable"....It was meant for me to see this video.

@brigitteciss609 жыл бұрын
No I'm from Senegal in West Africa, born and raised! I moved to Paris to go to college, and I just moved to SF! I love it there but it sure is lonely to move to a new place !!
@teenatravels10189 жыл бұрын
Oh I see...You will love SF, the people are very friendly. Yes, it can be lonely in a new place when you don't know anyone. I have met a few Parisians and Expats through networking groups and they have been very helpful.

Firstly, Lisa Nichols is a very eloquent and tough woman who has had to start from the bottom up and lived to tell the tale. Hats off to you lady. However, her perspective to some degree is very western-oriented in that, her definition of success seems to be about 'making it' in life (one assumes financially). Success is not necessarily about what you drive, or the house you live in, or your bank balance, or being invited to a Ted talk. These are by and large illusions pedalled by the West to create a chronically dissatisfied population. Being a good mom who's there for her kids and cooks fresh and wholesome food for them (instead of store-bought junk) is also SUCCESS. Being a parent who raises morally upright, compassionate, selfless children who value wisdom, hard work and generosity is also SUCCESS. Being an individual who doesnt waste his life in front of the telly but spends his spare time doing charitable work is also SUCCESS. Being patient in adversity and humble n modest in plenty is also SUCCESS. Being a sharer and carer is also SUCCESS. Living a life of dignity and avoiding a life of waste and excess is also SUCCESS. Not everyone is meant to be a millionaire. Not everyone is going to be rich and famous. Some of the most beautiful and inspirational people in this world will never be known to the many, but quietly go about doing their bit for others. If you can look back at your life when you lie on your death bed, and see a legacy that you are leaving behind that made the world a better place for the many, not the few -- then you've been successful. May God give all of us the determination and commitment to live to our true potential and achieve SUCCESS.

Beautifully said.. I totally agree with everything you've said. I feel of late, the past two or three years that I've been failing in life even though I have a beautiful family and friends. I've been convincing myself that I need to be more successful to gain the recognition I feel I need... I've been watching countless videos by numerous speakers but their message is almost always aimed at you becoming wealthy... That's not and never has been a motivation for me. Though in that period of trying to become someone else, someone more successful, I felt I was changing... I didn't like how I felt so I've decided weeks ago that I'm just going back to being me and to give and to help and to love and to care as much and more than I had before. This is more pleasing to God than a selection of houses and cars... 😊

what..? don't you see sir.. lisa nichols meant to inspire people. so that people could believe themselves more when she tell the story. She's a person who an example for the people out there, to achieve want in life (especially all the success concept that you give). all needs struggle. Lisa is not here for you to follow her, to be a millionare like her. She's just telling a story about her, for the people, that, if you lose hope, don't give up, because all of us can change it. yes. its just not always monetary, but you need home to be a good mom, you need playground to be with kids, to spend time with them. I would say, money, bank accounts is a foundation of everything.
@funmilolaawe88392 жыл бұрын
I don't think she intended to pass that message that because you choose to be a mother and a successful one at that makes you lesser than her. If you heard one of her points on fearing to die without fulfilment. If all you listed is what makes you fulfilled, great, but for some others they need much more to be fulfilled. Not because they're over ambitious, I believe it's just God's given desire and talents that decides that level of fulfilment. To whom much is given, much is surely expected, just stay on your lane

Why did Jesus tell the rich to sell all that they have? Why didn't he just tell the poor they were making excuses? No wonder billionaires like hanging out with this woman.
@bluemoonmuse77907 жыл бұрын
Silenus6 I bet poor people have no problem hanging out with her too. She has a message for them of hope and empowerment. And compassion for where they've been. But for anyone with excuses, don't stay stuck there - "Turn it into fuel."
@franjlo7 жыл бұрын
You have poor by choice and poor by force. Ophrange children are poor by force. People born in countries in conflict like Uganda, Haiti and Afghanistan are poor by force. God addresses those who are poor by choice in the parable about the Bags of Gold in Matthew 14. The one man who one bag buried his ability to grow wealth. Read what his verdict was. We are blessed to work what we have. Don't expect someone else to rescue you when you are decide to be poor by choice and bury your talents. Helping the poor means to help those who cannot help themselves not those who can but rather make excuses.
@manichairdo63466 жыл бұрын
Valus He said that to one man in answer to a question. He noticed the poor widow giving her last mite. He said, you will always have the poor among you. Be rich towards God. Hmm!
