Those pauses are absolutely necessary because of how impactful what you are saying is.

Also don’t forget, some people wouldn’t have a job if racism wasn’t a taking point in today’s media. Plenty of money to be made, I can think of a few entities that made millions profiting off others.

I love this. Imagine how different life would be if we didn't classify each other by color in the first place!

Racial profiling is by most regarded as racism, but whenever we ask a person where he/she is from based on looks, that´s racial profiling. This actually hurts more than you can imagine when it comes to certain individuals, constantly being reminded that you "might not" belong in the place you were born. A 33 year old female with origins in Uganda got so tired of being asked where she was from that she left Denmark, she was born and raised in the country and stated she had never been treated badly in any way. The constant question however which happened on a daily basis made her leave the country, she felt like the question alienated her bit by bit until she had enough.

In my view, she can either try and change society (a Herculean task most people are not capable of), or she can reframe it and accept that this is how the people around her are, and invent a new way to react to it that doesn’t irritate her. One solution requires changing millions of people. The other requires changing one.

@@sevenproxies4255 No disagreement. I'm just saying what her options are. A lot of foolish people think they are up to changing society and spend enormous amounts of mental and social energy trying to adjust society. It is far easier to change the self. It's not easy, either, but it's far easier than changing society. I don't know what other options she has.

@@sevenproxies4255 Well, maybe a slight disagreement. She does have the right to try and change society, it's just an incredibly long, slow, and frustrating task most people are not up to doing and so instead they stew in their own resentment and are miserable. The sad thing is, people like her could be a lot happier if they just worked on themselves.

Preferring one’s “ in group” is inherent! Geography has nothing to do with it. In a civilized society such as this we certainly should be able to get along with everyone but it’s normal to prefer your own group. And people divide themselves even further with religion, age, gender, social class. Doesn’t mean one hates another, feels superior or wants to dominate another race or group!

You shouldn't care about them. I don't have any problems with real racists ( because it's a trend now to label everyone we don't agree with as racists). They don't affect me, only deeds and behavior matters. The rest is discord and pushing agendas.
