1. Lookers 75% ○ Well-dress, thin lips, wrinkles on forehead coz thinks what he has seen, stress in shoulders § Eyecontact, § "Look at this", "Picture it this way" 2. Listener 20% ○ Not well dress, Looks down to remember she heard, hand in face-telephone stance, mumbles § Don’t give eye-contact to much, § "Lets talk bout this over","Sounds good to me" 3. Touchers 5% ○ Huggers, comfort rather than style, Full lips, tendency to lean in, lookin down to remember what they felt § Let em hug u, give a point of contact, § "Let's get in touch", "How do u feel bout this" • Don’t become like somebody else • Accomadate ur language to build rapport • Listen for the words to understand who they are If u start present ur ideas in a way that they get them, they will say yes more often

LOOKER - strong stance - lots of eye contact - appearance matters -well dressed - forehead wrinkles from looking up lots when remembering ideas - shoulder tension - remembers from images - reciprocate eye contact (not looking, not at tentative) - give words with visual components (i see, picture this) LISTENER - thinks in words and sounds - not well dressed - appearance not as important - down to the left (remembering what you’ve heard) - head in hand telephone posture - mumbles to self, thinking in words and sounds - pen clicker (sounds) - not lots of eye contact, look and then look away - use auditory words (lets talk this over, sounds good) TOUCHER - brain thinks in feelings and tactile - ready to hug - dressed for comfort - full lips - tendency to lean in, decrease physical space - reach out to touch arm in conversation - look down, remembering something you’ve felt - let them touch you - if not comfortable, stick out hand, any point of contact - use language that has a feeling or tactile (reach out to me) pay attention to body language present ideas that they will understand DONT CHANGE STYLE BUT language and body listen or look at the words they’re using (feeling, auditory, visual)

I have autism, and I often tell people that I can't communicate while having to do eye contact. (Maybe it's related to the predator instinct thingy? Idk) But anyways, I respect people who can't do eye contact. I don't think people can actually read body language... I haven't watched this video. I'm concerned that it even exists. Because of ableism, and the stigmatizing of mental conditions. It's not morally wrong to not do eye contact, and people should just accept that. It's pure ableism to discriminate against that.

I find my memories to be extremely accurate. However, I see no images nor feel emotions. Perhaps my memories are orientated more around the technical aspects of the memory and your memories are more orientated around the emotional aspect of the memory. Strangely, I never dream with humans, either. All my dreams have overcast skies, subdued lighting whether indoors or outdoors, no humans, everything quiet, and nothing is locked or blocked from my access. Perhaps I need help.

Reading people is a perception of your own understanding. The more understanding you are of yourself, the more understanding you are of everything else. Only to the point that it raises your understanding to understand what it hasn’t yet. At no time when reading people, are they stuck being what you’re thinking. That’s all you, being your perception.

After watching this video I started to watch random ted talks, and try to find out who is a listener, a toucher and a looker, and I found out a cool thing: the listener moves his head side to side - so his hearing range grows bigger. The looker takes his body back and up- so his view field grows wider, and the toucher do the opposite things- he takes his body down and front so there is a better chance to touch

Thank you for this, believe it or not but i was raised with dysfunctional parents who didn’t know how to show love, care, nor support. So it’s been a trial for me at work when dealing with other people (getting along). After a year of growth within my inner self with the help of God and my mentor. I have changed for the better but there is still some work I need to do and now listening to this. I feel I am equipped with the knowledge (what was missing) of knowing how other people’s brains function and I can deal with each and everyone accordingly. God is good! Blessings to all…

I am a musician, I can remember conversations I had 20 years ago. I can also tell you what you were wearing, and the look on your face when you talked about your mother - while looking you directly in the eye. I hug most folks, when it feels appropriate, and I am well known, within small circles, as giving the best hugs. I dress mostly for comfort, but a little style. Prominent tattoo, ears pierced, shaved head (vanity-started loosing it young). I have ADHD, and I have been able to "read" people since I was a toddler. I was the truth teller. I think in sounds, pictures, and concepts. At 49, my brow is creased, I enjoy people watching. And I talk to myself constantly.... particularly when I'm stressed. It's part, working it out, and part self soothing. And I'm aware that I'm a webbed thinker- which means I see connections in ways other folks don't. I must be a mutant. Lol

Ok, so I say this or do this, and 7 out of 8 of the people reacted similarly. Pattern. So I then try different approaches, try different age groups, until I find the right way to use my body language. Hope this helps!

This is trying to classify all people in just three extremely distinct categories. It the reality (imo) is that you’re an hybrid of these types, which means that there are MANY more types. In fact, I buy clothes that look good (as long as they’re not uncomfortable) but end up using the most comfortable ones the most; I remember with images and feelings/sensations; I sometimes mumble to myself. The list goes on, but it just goes to show that you can’t put people in a box

It's a fantastic lecture related to reading minds of the people through their body language..There are three models of body language according to Lynne Franklin. The first one is lookers. A looker's brain thinks in pictures and images. They stand tall with good poster and have a good appearance. They mostly have wrinkles on their forehead as they think oftenly looking upwards. They give you lot of eye contact. In order to build rapport with them, one should make eye contact and use words which have visual component. But, I have seen persons who are lookers who bend a while standing and don't have any wrinkles on forehead. Second type of persons are listeners. Their mind thinks in words and sounds. They don't give much preference to appearance and they look on to the left side when they remember something they heard. I have observed so many listeners who always on the right when remembering something . And last type of people are touchers whose brain think in feelings. Their characteristics are , they are ready to hug a person if they meet him for first time. They wear dress which are comfortable rather than stylish. I oppose the point. I have a friend who is a toucher. He dresses to look stylish rather than having comfort. Lynne Franklin said to know to which category we belong to we can know by imagining a situation i.e whether we remember in pictures or in words or feelings. I imagined a situation like movie at the same time with some words as well. So, I feel we can't say whether a person is looker or listener or toucher just by the way they imagine.

I'd like to think that the comparison she made with the dominant hand is not exactly correct Instead of one thought process being 40-50% better than most, it is more likely to be 0.1-0.2% better It could also be completely different depending on your genetics and where you grew up Other than that, her ending statement about other people agreeing with you more is most likely related to the confidence you have whenever you use either of these things and the fact that you would be easier to understand if you are acting in one specific way

You’ll still notice 2 or 1 which is more dominant. Some people are never touchey, other people join two things at once. It’s a mix. The less mixed people are, the harder it is to connect with them. That’s why this is useful. I had a friend’s dad I wanted to create rapport with, he was definitely a feeler and when I talked to him I was elbow to elbow and we laughed a lot heads bowed in each other’s direction. My nephew can’t stand it if I have my eyes on my phone while we’re together, he’s a looker more than anything. In teaching him spirituality I was saying: do you think such a thing as a God principle exists? And I didn’t get much and then I said, imagine we’re in a video game where humans exist, can you envision what the God Principle could be like in this video game? And I got so much stuff from him. My niece is a mixture of a feeler and a listener. I can have my eyes on a screen or a book and be touching her and she feels we’ve connected. When we talk about how things went in a problem area she goes directly to what she felt and gets overwhelmed and then I ask her specifically to remember what was said and she goes there and calms down her feelings enough to plan how to address the problem with words and linguistic ideas. I am a mixture of the 3 as we all are but definitely I’m more looker and feeler than a listener. When solving through problems I now envision what that could look like in an image kind of way and from there I build a strategy, revisiting that image and pulling details from it as if it were a map. Everyone is all three but the question is how can you use this information to connect better with yourself or others.

Chances are from what you said, Bobby, you're a Looker and primarily think in pictures and images. Check this out with other characteristics. Look at things you've written: do you use more visual words? Do you like to look at people when they/you speak and feel ignored when they don't give you eye contact? Is how you dress -- your appearance -- important to you? Hope this stuff helps.

If almost all people in your theory are lookers, then how useful is it as far as prediction is concerned? Your theory is closer to astrology than science as far as prediction is concerned. You have absolutely no understanding of scientific method. You are out of your league. And you are catering to the most gullible people in our society. You are a modern-day snake oil salesmen.

I have to actually looked down or away from the person and listen to what they say to process it. Even at work, when my boss gives me an instruction, I have to repeat it back to him in a low voice so I can even process what he already said.

Use of non verbal communication always interested me, and this video is a good example to start with, the use of real people as example helps to understand things easily. And from the start of the video it's very clear that understanding body language is not only about judging people on the basis of how they are reacting but it's about understanding how their brain works.

Through this video, I learned the importance of body language in communication. Pantomime, one of the theatrical genres, emerged in that it can grasp the other person's emotional state and intention with body language. Since pantomime also conveys the emotional state of a character only through gestures and facial expressions, the genre of a play called pantomime came to mind while listening to the contents of the video.

A variable to consider when analyzing your communication style is if you have adapted to communicate with other communication styles, for example, in my case, I am a visual and most of the people I interact with are touchers so I adapted my communication language to use phrases such as "How do you feel about this?," "Tell me what you feel..." If you are trying to find your communication style keep this in mind.

Observing the body language can tell a lot about the particular individual during conversations. I find that there are some great points raised in the video. Most people don't pay attention to body language at all, and can easily fall into one of the 3 categories mentioned in the video. In my opinion, if you start caring for your body language, you will become more confident and convincing for others. It is important not to give away your true opinions and thoughts with your body.

The concept of reading one’s mind by just looking at them has always fascinated me. Personally, I myself, try to do that in day-to-day life, though this is done at a common-sense level that is inclusive of body-language as it plays a major role in it. This video gave me some defined and well structed ideas and concepts for judging mind, by body language in particular. After watching this video I started to observe the people around me and try to differentiate between these three categories looker, listener and toucher and being aware of looker because s/he have a good memory in remembering it like a movie and also being aware of listener because they are very good in what peoples are said and also being aware of toucher because they are very good in understading feeling of human. Talking about my own experience with the activity as discussed in the video, I'm definitely a toucher or in other word, kinesthetic. Because I had taken a test before (people can have more than one of the type) and it's kind of hard to be a toucher bcause you want to touch something without realising it. It's sometimes makes people uncomfortable. Overall, this is must watch video for those want a greater insight to ways of reading mind through body language!

Body language is an important aspect of nonverbal communication that can reveal a lot about a person's thoughts and feelings. Body language alone cannot read people's minds, but it can provide insight into their emotional states and intentions. Facial expressions, gestures, and postures can be used to interpret a person's mood and engagement in conversation. However, body language can also be influenced by cultural and individual differences, so it is important to consider several factors when interpreting non-verbal cues. Ultimately, body language can give clues about a person's thoughts and feelings, but it should only be viewed as part of the overall communication picture.

Yep. I met a toucher last night. I am somewhat anti social if it comes to people. Delivered a plant from my plant store and as Im leaving she was standing there with arms wide open. I hugged her back and it was an awesome moment. Funny I see this tonight. ❤️

Finally! I know why I do the things I do! I'm a listener! I always thought I was just socially awkward and needed to get better at eye contact. But being a listener explains the mumbling to myself and tapping my pen/pencil. Also, you touchers out there: If someone tries to block your hug with a handshake, DO NOT ignore that and hug them anyway. Just accept the handshake! I have tried to avoid a hug with a handshake before and had the person completely ignore my gesture and it makes you feel violated.

As a psychology student, yes she is. BUT, this is a very crude, fresh topic that is still developing. This can be used to help you understand that people are different. This same theory comes in 3, 4, 6, 9 and I've seen up to 18 groups, so take it as a generalization.

I like the fact that she reminds me of something. Myself, when I start out calm and controlled, but engage in faster speech as I get excited by the topic. Body language is so interesting, I am noting hers as a speaker along her words on types. I am also confused about myself. Where is the dramaqueen and too-fast-decision-making ones?

Great talk Lynne! I agree, a book on this would be great! Loved the easy breakdown of the types and especially the clues on how they were dressed. Didn't know that!

I'm a Listener, Raghav, so my brain thinks in words and sounds. But if I stood on a stage and never looked at the audience--just had my ear pointed at them--there'd be no way for me to build rapport. I can't change how my brain works, but I can be flexible with my words and body language to be more inclusive to others--and still be comfortable with myself. Thanks for asking!

Body language goes deeper than just gesture or face expression 3 type of thibker 1 looker , he has wrinkles on his forehead bcz when think he look up , he make eye contact, mostly has thin lips , he is good looking *make eye contact with them* I see what you mean, lookat this, let's picture this , imagine 4:19 75 percent of people March is listener Her brain works with sounds and voice Outfit is not important for them, their hands are under their chain , looking down in left side when they think they heard something, they membele a lot 5:40 25 percent of people * don't make a lot of eyes contact *when they speak look at them then look away) * us4 authority language with them Maria 6:27 5 percent of the world, a toucher, feeling Ready to hug you, dress for comfort , full lips , a tendency to lean in , tendency to touch you , they look down *let them touch you *language that has feeling Reach out what you think, process feeling Close your eyes and remember a memory, is it a movie, a sound or feeling Find their way of thinking and get more yes 10:32 Look at the words , is it visually or a auditory , or emotionally 11:43 practice, you will become persuasive person in the room
