What if we all did a little more to help shape our communities by using our individual skills to accelerate positive change and aid participation? Uná’s talk is all about how individuals have come together to make good things happen. Uná shares how a community group called Good for Nothing were tasked with reviewing Chester Council’s One City Plan. Their strategy was all about putting people first and creating the space for more inclusive and meaningful engagement.- This consultation saw the highest levels of engagement from city users and resulted in much more than a review, but a strategy that could help Chester meet the needs of all, for decades to come. "As well as being Deputy Director of Partnerships at the University of Chester, Uná co-leads Good for Nothing Chester, a community group of 400 plus volunteers that’s utilises their expertise to accelerate positive change across the city. Uná uses innovative and creative methods that create the space for different voices to be heard and given a platform to participate in big decisions. Last year she designed a hugely successful community consultation that placed people at the centre of a refresh and review of the Chester One City Plan. Uná is a connector, communicator and constant collaborator to help #MakeChester.
