Love the topic and Shermin’s masterful delivery. The concepts of composure through chaos, acceptance (albeit sometimes reluctant) of a leadership role, to exert the influence of stoic empathy, within a space…such a humble flex. Truly an empowering and impactful talk!!!

Goosebumps! What a way to grow up, and having met your parents, I can see how they guided you and your sisters through your childhood with stoic empathy. Love how you weave stories into the message.

This concept is fascinating - stoicism and empathy working together instead of competing. Shermin is such a powerful speaker and thinker. I can’t wait for her book on this topic coming this spring.

Sooo true!! I can attest to the importance of using stoic empathy in a high-volume, crazy hectic pharmacy. I stayed calm, allowing my techs to feel less stress and more support, no matter how insanely busy we were. Great job, Sher!! 👏🏻

Interesting concept and incredibly moving story. I’ve never researched the “stoicism” philosophy so I know very little about it. The term itself was always a bit off putting for me. But I like the empathy component that you attach, and the balance it creates. I think this is great

Great!!! And it's wonderful to see you back on the TEDx stage, Shermin. I remember watching your previous talk a few years ago on the subject of using cognitive empathy in negotiations. You were wearing a lovely smart blue dress that day, and your elegance combined with your Iranian/Persian beauty are all but impossible to forget. I love listening to you, the calm in your voice, and the very special way (which I can’t express in words - it’s just something I feel) you have of getting across what you want to say. Your gorgeous personality and your intelligence command respect. I’m looking forward to the next talk - maybe in two or three years? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Thank you for this insightful talk Sher! Your perspective on stoic empathy beautifully bridges the gap between emotional resilience and compassionate understanding. It’s a refreshing perspective that we can respond to stressful situations with emotional poise. This message feels especially relevant in today’s fast-paced, ever evolving, highly charged world. Truly inspiring!
