I respectfully disagree with his opinion because, when a soldier looses his life protecting his country and his countrynen, or protecting his team mates, he is doing his duty. Protecting his country is his duty. Sacrificing his life while doing his national duty isn't a mistake right?

@@riyadebnath2203you got it wrong,he was referring to a 'mistake' done in a combat situations ie. face to face encounter with a terrorists or enemy,in situations like these a single decision can cause death to an officer and his troops and there are no second chances

Principles for battle to thrive in chaos 1. Know how to assume orders, when there are no orders - understand strategic intent. 11:22 2. Every leader should be capable of commanding 1 level up - Train well to command 1 level up 12:07 3. Focus on you core drills and battle procedures until they become muscle memory 12:34 4. Improvisation and Innovation on the fly 14:26 5. Leaders must always be out there in the front line - Chaos is full of fleeting opportunities 16:55 6. Good leaders love chaos - core drills, courage, attitude, can do attitude come out in chaos only 18:01

Nice comment Kaushik. Generally, you will find a top Indian Army Office with bag loads of confidence. My classmate is a Col in the Indian Army. He once shared a story about their final weeks of their IMA training. One of the last weeks before course ends, i.e. before a 60kms run, all course-mates are not allowed to sleep, dig trenches, stand next to the trenches, dig again, eat and drink little (no sleep). Those 6 days before the run, all are pretty much done with the hectic routine, and then they are airlifted and dropped 60 kms away and handed a map (around evening time). The navigator navigates his course mates, loaded with battle gear, have to run those 60kms in 8 hours and negotiate way back to base. With major lack of sleep and barely enough water with you, you run and make way to base, with sheer grit and determination. After you successfully reach, you are allowed to rest and eat. This may sound over simplified, but this is very difficult. And then the warriors say, after you have done this, ''anne do kisiko bhi, g**nd mar denge''.

I went through the video and here are my observations: 1. Amazing leadership, courage and skill of the Army at Major, Captain and Lower levels. I salute your sacrifice... 2. Utter failure of the Army and politicians at senior positions. 3. They had 14 hrs notice and no one bothered to get the Taj Building plans from BMC. No one had the common sense to contact Tata Group and secure the plans from their corporate office in 14 hrs!!!! In comparison the Israelites got the plans for Entebbe's airport in Uganda where hostages were held. (Read operation Entebbe and you will know how incompetent we are at our job). 4. Fellow giving the speech is former CEO of national intelligence... His dept did not have the presence of mind to interrogate the rescued people on the location of the terrorists? 4. The NSG commandos had to wait for hrs at Mumbai airport since they did not have their own vehicles to go from the airport to the Taj... SHAMEFUL..... And we have over 4 military bases in Mumbai itself (Kalina, Kurla, Worli, Colaba)!!! No transport could have been arranged in the 14 hrs you had to plan?????..... You guys had to come via BEST!!!! (Proud of BEST, the best transport system in the world) 5. 5 to 10 uneducated, unskilled Village terrorists took a country of 120 Crore people hostage for 3 days. Shame on all of us...... 6. I am sorry, but this is not a video on leadership, it's an eye-opener...... I am not trying to be a cynic, I am proud of my roots and my country, but I am also concerned, patriotic and critical of it when it's weak and foolish.... Do not mistake my rant as anti national, I hope that people realise that there is much to be done for this great country of ours...... we are good as individuals but terrible as a team.... Jai Hind!!!!!

Sir I appreciate your thoughts ! but sir he said in the starting that no mission goes according to the plan ! So they must have had read the blue print ! But they didn't knew exactly how many people were terrorist and etc . In short the information was not sufficient ! However in case of the ISRAEL'S they knew how many hostages were there ,etc,etc ! also you can't compare the area of an aeroplane to the area and complexity of a hotel !

I agree, hijack and attack are two different scenarios. But lets see the facts: 1. Op Entebbe (hijack to resuce) happened in 7 days, Mumbai 2008 happened in our own country, not in some remote village in the Financial HUB of our country and it lasted 4 days.... 2. Op Entebbe was in a country with a hostile govt (i do not understand how the Israelies would have diverted their attention), agree BMC was under Shiv Sena and Centre under Congress....but SAME COUNTRY 3.2 Hijackers & 45 Ugnadan Soldiers killed (both enemies) against 1 Isreali death.... compare that with 2008 attack, 10 illiterate, village farm boys from LeT took the entire city hostage!!! 4. Op Entebbe: 3 Hostages & 1 Commander killed. Mumbai 2008: 164 killed including ATS!!!! Your arguments: 1. Influenced by western propoganda!!!: I stopped watching news a long time ago, i guess you still watch Arnab and Aaj tak. 2. Tech Edge: My comment was never on tech edge, just basic planning... NSG commandos travelling by BEST bus from AIRPORT!!!!! If you had an interview and were late, would you wait for a bus??? We have over 8 military bases in MUMBAI and you telling me we could not arrange troop carriers from any of them???? 3. 9/11: America's business is their business none of my concern, but i dare anyone to try another hijack on an American or Isreali airline now.... 4. Paris attack: the city wasn't held hostage for 4 freaking days!!! 5. My concerns shameful: Is this how you win an argument!!! hahahah 6. Do you think another terrorist attack like this if happened in India.. terrorists will run away??: for the sake of the country i hope you are right... but my friend, hopes will not keep us safe, wake up realize how vulnerable we are, see the corruption around you. It is so easy to buy a blind eye. 7. You really undermine our Forcs that is very shameful.: , one on one we might be the best in the world, as an army, i seriously doubt... and i rather point out the flaws of my own country and hope to improve it rather than blindly praising it. My mother always told me, if your are concerned, you will correct the person.... I am too small and too insignificant to correct anyone, but i hope my message resounds in someone of significance.....
@akashcommander5997
@akashcommander5997 7 жыл бұрын
Reuben Buthello Sorry you seem incorrect to me.. first you accept there is a difference between hijack and attack and then you compare them again!!! After NSG took command no histage died or civilian died only 2 personnel killed that too they showed utmost bravery. Mumbai attack can be compared to 9/11 coz they are same kind of attacks which never happened before in the history of mankind. No govt. will be ready for such an attack even now. BEST buses were arranged coz operarion was conducted by NSG and not military.. there was very bad cootadination between agencies. That lesson has been learnt. Paris authirities had intelligence about such an attack amd there were some suspects as well.. still they failed. It was not a new kind of attack.. a copy of mumbai attacks. It took NSG 2 days only in Taj hotel.. Mind you they searched every room and corner in adjacent hotel as well. Just imagine the extent of this attack. In Paris they just fired and got killed.. they did not hide. They were not trained as Mumbai attackers still one of them ran away. And your comment about Mumbai attackers being childish shows your foolness. They were trained by Pakistan in POK terror camps and selected best of them. Daura e aam and Daura e khaas course was conducted and they were trained like commandos. They used satellite communication. The attack was done in commando style. Know some facts first.

I realise your frustration.... bear with me as I tear through your stupidity.... Unwarranted praise leads to ahankar (pride), which in turn leads to downfall, as it did for Rawana. If you still believe that we should be in all praise, then the govt you should serve is the one being lead by Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang, such a regime loves undevoted, uncritical praise and love.... I prefer to call a spade a spade... I hope you do not accuse me of some other propaganda now... The reason I compared the hostage situation and the attack is because attacks are over in moments, not days. If it has to last for days, it is called a battle and for a battle you need Tactics and Strategy. About the point of NSG not being military, NSG personnal are recruited from various branches of the military on deputation!!!. I agree NSG and Military report to different ministries (Home Affairs for the former and Defence for the latter); but the Home Affairs Ministry also controls IPS which controls the Commissioners of Police who have loads of Police Vans in the city of Mumbai... Couldnt those vans be deployed for the NSG? Food for thought... The first point of my original comment was in praise of the commandos. Whom I criticised were their superiors.... I encourage you to read again... Read my original text once again and tell me which sentence is technically incorrect. I don't need you to call me foolish, if you have arguments which are valid, present them in a dignified and rational manner. If the facts you present are valid and logical, I will change my stand. But all you bring to this forum is your irritation....
@akashcommander5997
@akashcommander5997 7 жыл бұрын
Reuben Buthello It is not necessary that you change your stand based on someone's irrational comments as long as you believe. I dont have to say who is irrational and logical.I have always criticised govt. and shortcomings.. you dont know about it. All I wanted to say is Indian establishment did best it can in such a situation. Same with 9/11 which took everyone by surprise. Many lessons were learnt from both attacks. That doesn't mean Indian forces are any lower. Yes, I am frustrated and irritated because you undermine our forces.. its not criticism. Its shaming on piblic platform. Go to some 9/11 attack video and post same criticism about then US establishment. Our Indiqn military and firces are way better than others. And yes I took pride in it even if it makes me Ravan or something. Because I know other forces dont have capabilities as Indian forces have.

This talks really reminded us whom we should never ever forget who Knowingly or Unknowingly guard us and our nation without made us know their pain of wounds and casualties.
