Mary's songs are profoundly spiritual. Hearing her description of her work with soldiers is inspirational.

I had the opportunity to hang with Mary for 3 days at a workshop. This video reminded me of the power that is within that lady. The time spent with her and the impact has lasted. BTW, she also makes great Jambalaya !!

Brilliant break down of the process and also the role that the song produced can play in the healing process. "Songs are empathy machines..." Spot on!

Two thumbs up cuz that's all God gave me. Way to go Mary. You continue to knock it outta the park and your work w/ the vets is vital, worthy of your talent and time, and ordained.

I didn't know anything about Mary Gauthier when I found and read her book. This is a little taste of that complete story. But more than that, if we are interested, her book is the best song writing instruction manual I've come across. We, too, can write songs that heal us. And in so doing, we are writing songs that can heal others. I totally agree Mary is inspirational. 😃

Not sure why I immediately started getting chill bumps when she started talking, like fr, even before I heard her story I got chills. 1/3 the way through I started crying. She got something special

Sometimes, just sometimes life flicks a link just when you need it to something that explains that moments tears and gives some answers and some hope. So thank you for being there and making this vid just when I need it but didn't know I did and for the heart and empathy you confirmed to me IS the way and not just a personal dream no one else shares... so onwards ... bless you

Mary's wounds too often are her focus. Although songs can soothe jangled nerve pathways, their full power comes from building and strengthening effective pathways.

Can a song save or change the world? I don't know but it certainly can't hurt and it may just help... *Soulshine is better than sunshine* *It's better than moonshine* *and it's damn sure better than rain...*
