Nisa, the fact you embrace being an “African American” and have no anger towards the Africans who sold and still sell their own people into slavery and human trafficking, shows you have an inability to acknowledge your history.

History Matters The statues should not be taken down but the plaque below the monument should be rewritten reflecting the truth. If we cover up the past the truth becomes lost and then the past is often repeated. Take what has been saved from history in Germany and what was done to the Jews. History is the window to our salvation through learning and not repeating the same mistakes.

After 2022 years of common history it is important to understand that there are things in the earth that has become harden.....racial hostility is one of those things. Writing, speaking, preaching about it has a purpose to a degree. But I have lived long enough to recognize that harden beliefs often are impossible to change. Rather each individual must decide how they will approach their life on earth.

I remember being supposed to take one of two opinions regarding European occupation of India in college. It went something like should Europe have helped them via subjugation or given them an undeniably bad international deal, for their own sake. I was disgusted. I write that the British should have simply shared their knowledge, neither subjugated nor occupied the country. I received an F. All hail the holy liberal publications of history.

Until the 17th century Britain and her people were under constant attack by barbary pirates. Coastal towns where invaded and people taken as slaves by those barbary pirates who also attacked British merchant ships. This continued Until Britain built a navy powerful enough to defeat the barbary pirates. Rule Brittania was written, later put to music, as a poem of thanksgiving. The barbary pirates came from North Africa

Charles Mitchell your right the Guitar was used in the 12th century in Europe. What Robert Flemming did was make it better. Flemming invented a guitar he called the "Euphonica" that he believed would produce a louder and more resonant sound than a traditional guitar. The U.S. Patent Office granted Flemming a patent (no. 338,727) on March 30, 1886. He also received a Canadian patent (no. 26,398) on April 5, 1887
