She's feeling the bass, and he's feeling the drums. I totally get it too, because I'm more like her and always end up bobbing my head to the bass.

"So glad to see you. I've missed you much" It perfectly resonates with my own experience. Spiritual awakening isn't some deep insight. It's actually the most familiar thing you've ever known, but you've just lost contact with it. It's like a constant feeling of nostalgia and comming home, and there is no doubt that "this is it"; this is the thing you've been looking for all your life, and it's yourself. It's the one thing that has been with you every moment of your life; the fact that you are aware. "Came out to watch you play. Why are you running away?" The problem arises when you try to grasp onto the experience, because everything changes, and you'll want it back. The solution is to stop chasing it, because you can't catch yourself. You can only be yourself by being yourself. This is ultimately trying to teach you the mechanism of _Dukkha_ : the fact that life is suffering, and it stems from aversion to the everchanging nature of life ( _Anicca_ ). The path to liberation is therefore not to attain a state of being, but to fully accept life as it is, and this eventually leads to the realization of _Anatta_ (no-self).

Songs like this are extra fascinating when you know Tool's process. The band creates, then after they have the music, Maynard comes in and writes the lyrics. That's fascinating to me on songs like this, because it's hard to imagine the song being about something else.

Definitely a stand-out track; love Adam's guitar work and Maynard's hushed but emotionally strained vocals in some of the verses.

Ever notice it kinda sounds like Sober? Like, the first time I heard it, when Maynard sings "singing one familiar song" I though after that he'd suddenly be like "WHYYYYYYYYYYY CAN'T WE NOT BE SOBER?" 😂

Hi guys ! Just discovered your vods yesterday. I'm a big Tool fan too ! I'm french I wanted first to thank you for all the explanations you give on their songs, it helped me well to better understand your language. I would like to suggest "The glass prison - Dream Theater" one of the best instrumental of this band, I'm sure you'll both enjoy it =) Keep up the good work guys !

Damn, dude, you're a good brother. All I remember from my childhood/teenage years is fighting with my sisters nonstop (I mean, we were all bipolar, but still). This is the first video I've seen of yours, but it seems like there's a bit of an age gap between you two. My sisters and I are all 2 years apart (I'm the middle child), so we were all near-equally angsty while growing up. Good on you for exposing her to good freaking music. I would have loved to been introduced to Tool earlier in life by someone who wanted me to expand my mind. Unfortunately, it wasn't until my senior year of high school that I started listening to them.

This is the first time I've ever heard this song. Up to this point, my favorite Tool songs are Schism, Sober, The Pot, Forty Six and Two and now I just recently heard Hooker with A (I don't feel comfortable saying that word, especially in front of the presence of a young lady,) because I was raised to be a gentleman. This fan made video is mesmerizing but distracting. This is one of the ones you may have to try to explain to me

Camp Site I get the feeling that this is one of those songs that I really have to listen to over and over a lot to grasp the understanding of.. I know you might hear me say that "this is the first time I've ever heard this song" a lot of times recently because I'm certainly not an "OGT" 😁😆 and there are a lot more Tool songs that I may have to familiarize myself with but thank you for letting me go on this "Tool journey" with you.

A song means as many things as ppl who listen. Interpretations are endless. It is to you what it is to you. It is to her what it is to you. It is to me what it is to me. All the same, but different. Everyone gets what they get from it. They're Tool. Each person is different, so Tool knew it had to be adaptable. 1 Tool 4 all your problems. If nothing else, Tool helps us vent

Wow, I can't believe that you went with Third Eye already. Most need to absorb them for a lot longer before listening to this song. I would like to see some more songs from Lateralus and Undertow. The Grudge with headphones on full volume is, like everything else from them, amazing. If you do start doing more AIC Love, Hate, Love(live version only) is a great song. Just warn your sis that a lot of their songs are depressing and a bunch are about addiction that took Layne from us. Love your videos(and I'm an old dude).

I see no one has explained this yet but, the third eye is the eye that looks inward. So when he says came out to watch you play,he’s speaking to his inner child. I’m not gonna say much more, just that this is philosophy, it takes some time to grasp. Enjoy trying.

In a way, he's right. We are spirits in flesh bodies (for now). The subconscious mind is part of the spirit. Thoughts and spoken words are spirit. Everything is spiritual before physical. We are the thoughts that drive and direct our bodies. We are the electrical impulse firing in our brain and muscles. We are what fills the space between every cell that science can't satisfactorily define yet. We are spirit. Spirit is the breath of God. We will live forever. Life is simply a matter of deciding where we'll go after we die and sticking to that decision
