I heard a similiar story of a boy who climbed the wheel of a plane. I forgot the year, his age and name, because I heard about it a long time ago, but things did not end well for him. He snuck right past all the security of the airport and he climbed onto the wheels similiar to as shown here. But little did he know that the plane opens its wheel doors again. So as the plane was about to land, the wheel door opened, and he fell straight out from of the sky a few thousand feet from the air. Interesting thing was that the very same day at the very same time a man was testing his new camera and he was clicking photos of the sky. The plane happened to be flying into the view of the camera, as the man took the picture, he captured the photo of the boy falling out of the plane wheel door; that was the last time the boy's photo was ever taken.

About 20 years ago or so I read an article in a regional newspaper about a guy who exploited the weak security of an African airport to go to an airliner and travel in the wheel bay. The plane was approaching Zürich, Switzerland from the North as most flights were doing at the time. The landing geared is lowered just North of the border over Hohentengen where the now frozen and frost covered body dropped to the ground and was found. The article also said it was not an uncommon event as one would assume.
