I disagree. Some amount of stubbornness, strong will and independence is a good thing in my opinion. The important part is teaching them wisdom and morality so they know when it is appropriate. Do you think the guy that pushes past the firefighters to save kids from a fire or the POW that is defiant and protects his fellow inmates from harm or the guy that sees a woman being abused on the street and stands up to abuser... are meek kids that didn't have a rebellious streak and disagree with authority figures at times? I've had my child behave badly (they're a very very good kid that everybody especially teachers love) but I understood why they did it and they had good reasons, so I rewarded them for their willingness to stand up for what they believed. Of course they have just behaved badly for no reason for which they were disciplined but it's exceedingly rare.
@nanettevantriesteharder2469Ай бұрын
@@retsaMinnavoiG For good or evil, you are what you think - Proverbs 23:7. To have moral integrity along a strategic life trajectory toward wisdom, parental core values of what is good and bad, belief systems of what is true and false, attitudes of what is right and wrong, and behaviors of what is acceptable and unacceptable conduct must be taught, learned, and accepted. In an understanding of personal wrongdoing and a desire for atonement for one's sins in a U-turn of repentance, a prodigal will seek out the face of the Father to ask for forgiveness (Luke 15:11-32). Therefore, a biblical worldview aligns a person's faith in God with the Golden Rule of forgiveness by means of His commandments (Exodus 20; Hebrews 11:1; John 3:16-17 & 13:34-35; Matthew 7:12 & 22:24-40). By contrast, the eldest son justified himself at the Father's expense. The heir to what was left of the estate thought he had earned his place in heaven and that the Father was rewarding his previously wayward brother's bad behavior. The jealous older brother had jumped to the wrong conclusion. A prodigal is not a person who chooses to permanently harden his or her heart to the revelation of truth, which breaks him/her.

I bet she felt like a jackleg for believing her son about murdering his father as that knife was entering her throat.
@sammyb1651Ай бұрын
I very much doubt she believed it in the first place. She was in an acrimonious custody dispute and his murder solved that problem for her. She basically endorsed his murder because it suited her purposes to do so. Hard to then have much sympathy when she ends up in the same situation herself. She didn't appear to have any for her ex. Just being real. I think you need to develop a better understanding of people's motives and behaviour. They're often highly unpleasant and they'll frequently put their immediate wants above questions of morality or what is "right".

I have more benefit of the doubt to give her actions then compared to how she kept taking him back in after multiple times he attacked her and claimed to mental health staff that he'd end her life. I have a nephew who has some of these traits . Poor parenting and over indulgence has greatly contributed to the behaviour I think . He began physically assaulting his parents at age 15 and currently lives with them - unemployed of course . The parents allowed a girlfriend to move into their home when he was 17 and are also now housing another girlfriend in small quarters as the son is now in his late 20s . The father is now wheelchair bound and police have attended the home recently b/c of violent behaviour by the son yet these living arrangements go on . There is little doubt that the situation has been created and enabled by the parents . I have a lot of concern for their safety .

@puspavelai8353Ай бұрын
The one difference between his crime, seems to be, is he played a 'victim' of his father's 'alienation' and domination to his mother? Most probably, he was toying with both their emotions and pitting them against each other just for fun. The punchline in his own 'joke' was perhaps he was always going to act viciously against both.

The mum was living in denial. Her son's total lack of respect for her or regard for her authority as his mother was obvious when he repeatedly said he would kill her and when he was violent towards her. Maybe the father poisoned the son against the mum and the mum did the same against the father, so ultimately he felt no loyalty or love for either parent, just hatred and entitlement. They created a monster and both paid with their lives.
