I'm watching the video in parts, but it is great. While I did play Tekken 2, I was introduced to the franchise by Tekken 3. As I feel like going back in time, I just bought the game. Can't wait when it arrives in a few days. 💪 Will definitely play this for a whole bunch of hours on my PlayStation 3. Some people might not know that, but every PS3-model can play PS1-discs. 😉

I sunk in SO MANY hours playing Tekken 2, this is my favorite PS1 game along MGS and RE, like, I remember playing this game year after year always! the music is incredible!

Sad to hear your thoughts on Jun because personally besides Nina and Michelle, she was another character who I enjoyed playing in Tekken 2 LOL Yeah she takes a little while to get used to but when you learn how she works, she can be a beast to play, if anything I found Michelle much more difficult to learn to play because her moveset required accurate time syncing to pull off some of her base combos but that was just me. It's nice to see people still talk about Tekken 2, it's aged but it really was a revolutionary game back in it's day right before we got the perfection of Tekken 3 (in terms of gameplay). :)

I can't really put my finger on it why I'm so terrible with Jun. Some characters just work better than others for me. But hey, good for you that you enjoy playing as her. BTW, my next Review will be Tekken 3 :)

As an Australian, i was always loved having a boxing kangaroo to pick haha. I use to love this game as a kid, so much nostalgia. Yoshimitsu is my fav character

I still like Tekken 2 the best. Definitely wish it was a little faster but other than that I think it's fantastic. The graphics of some characters are extremely polygonal with sharp edges, especially Kuma. Tekken 3 did a great job smoothing out the graphics but I dont mind the blocky edges that much in Tekken 2. I dont mind the slower pace but i wish it was a little faster. The arcade version was the best but i liked the playstation music a lot more. The first 3 Tekken games were where it ended for me. I didnt like any of the newer games. Only newer Tekken I kinda liked was the first Tekken Tag Tournament game but basically because it had just about every Tekken fighter from the first 3 games in it. Something about the characters of the original 3 games I really liked. Jack/Jack2 , Bruce Irving and Yoshitmitsu (Tekken 3 version) were my favorite fighters. Also really liked King/Armor King from Tekken 1 & 2. The special characters/ bosses were awesome too.

My favorite Tekken game. Grew up with the slow pal version, these days i enjoy the ntsc version..plays like a different game.

I encountered some zoomer who said Tekken 2 wasn't revolutionary at that time. What's not revolutionary about it? - First game to feature throw reversal - Much improved FMV cutscenes that many FG don't even have - Various modes that set standards for many FGs - On-screen command list - Huge roster that was unprecedented on 3D fighters at that time

@@similaritiesendhere Tekken was always more than just a VF clone though. It was faster, more fuild, more characters and have actual story and FMV endings. Those may not mean anything today but it was a huge technological leap for a fighting game.

@@similaritiesendhere Okay maybe not revolutionary but it was groundbreaking. It was dominating both the arcade and PS1 charts. Lots of people completely forgotten games like Battle Arena Toshiden and other developers tried to cash in with the 3d fighters following the success of Tekken 2.

@@similaritiesendhere Of course T2 will have alot of T1 because they run on the same game engine. Plus it fixed the glaring issues with Tekken 1. Saying T2 isnt ground breaking is saying Beatles isnt ground breaking just because there might be someone who have their style way before them. Tekken 3 uses a brand new game engine, hence a graphical and performance leap. People were already in the Tekken hype train even before T3.

Tekken 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. The music and atmosphere, also for me the character roster are all unreached in the series (maybe 4 comes close in this regard).

LOL! Fiji was my favorite track from Tekken 1 as well, and now I also see your favorite part of the intro theme is the when Nina appears. SAME! LOL! Character select theme, from the arranged track for ps1, is still my fave I think of all the Tekkens. Michelle was always my main, naturally I had to stick with Julia moving forward, but it was so wrong Julia/the Changs fighting style was dlc in Tekken 7. And yeah, I don't miss the delay in getting back on your feet. LOL!

Home port and he arcade version actually run at the same speed... if you live in a NTSC region (US and Asia), but since you're Swedish like me we unfortunately had to suffer with the slower PAL 50hz speed

I THINK he's dead in the canon but I kind of wish they'd bring Bruce back just cuz I'm 99% sure he's the only tai boxer/kick boxer in the roster and it was just nice to have that variety. I was trash with him but it was still cool that he was..there. lol

Technically Armor King is also playable in Dark Resurrection, but I suppose it doesn't count, as it's just an expansion for Tekken 5

Tekken 2 was only slow in europe because of the 50hz default. While asia and america had a 60hz fast version as you witnessed in the arcade version. For a gaming review channel it seems you don't know a lot about games.
