@@smashrag9592 he's F,B+2, 1 should've been removed (since we don't see it that much anymore) and change it's animation to the DF+2, 1 we have now since 7 uses a Screw! for it's staple combos. Paul's bound move the B+1, 2 changed it's animation to be a Screw! move in 7. I don't see why they needed to keep Lars' F,B+2, 1 since 7 doesn't use a bound in it's staple combos and we rarely see it used as a launcher/whiff punish tool even in 6, we have ark blast(F,1+2) for that. Lars desperately needs that DF+2 back.

@@renzojz You definitely don't wanna remove fb21. Lars fb21 is an i14 mid launcher with decent range. In Tekken 7 it's the best it has ever been as a move since you get a full combo.

@@tippingguy8514 Recoiling Cobra55 you are definitely making a point and I understand you're basing your opinions on what we currently have right now. I do not disagree whatsoever. However, given that Lars already has two standing launchers, isn't it a nice feature that he had a 12 frame poking tool that is safe on block (-9), crumples/launches on counter hit? Heck, even Steve has one, Kazuya's DF+2 is still there. It has been a low risk high reward move ever since and one of the reasons that made him a notoriously known character. It is definitely superior than F,B+2 1 in one way or another. It's not even a broken move since you lose your turn when they block it, given that it is a -9, thats just one frame away from eating a flash punch combo. And don't forget we rarely see F,B+2 1 used back then since his poking game was so absurd that an opponent can't wait to interrupt your pressure and by doing so to try and interrupt this said pressure, next thing you know they got hit by a counterhit DF+2. I just wish DF+2 was never removed in the first place and maybe we'll still see a lot of Lars players today.

f,b+2,1 is still a launcher. It's MORE of a launcher in Tekken 7 because you don't sacrifice the combo gimmick in that game (you can still tailspin after doing it; as of Season 4 it does as much damage as his u/f+4 combo to the digit). I don't know if the frames are worse, though. That could matter.

Lars’s New df2,1 is so under appreciated. A 16 frame natural combo launcher that has a huge range, it crushes high pretty consistently, the first hit is safe and tracks the right, his weak side, and the second hit tracks to his left side, so it’s technically a homing move. Yes it’s a mid high string, but unless you’re extremely predictable with it, it’s kinda difficult to duck, and honestly, no one ducks strings online lol.

Recoiling Cobra55 even if at high level of play, the fact that he has a launcher that tracks to his right side is great, you can only use df2 to get a mental frame advantage there, use df2,1 occasionally to discourage opponent from attacking after df2. And realistically talking, most people are scrubs in this game, in online environments you can’t find good players unless you’re fujin and above, and really no one uses lars, you can get away with df2,1 a lot.

df 2,1 has some range to it as well which is good for whiff punishing. You can also dish out decent damage after hitting df 2,1

Azaku It has a better range than any other df2 in the game( except for jack 7 ? ) it tracks to both side, and it offer a mental frame advantage. While I do believe that his older df2 is better, the new one is not that bad. I’m a kazumi genbu, I can’t remember seeing someone ducking 3,2. Even purple ranks people find it difficult to duck a 15 frame mid high string, especially in an online environment, just don’t abuse it.

He got a lot better, but not as much of an improvement as Armor King. D/f+2 had borderline no range, and he still didn't have the d/f+3 cancel, so no advanced combos were available. iirc, one of his jab strings was 0 on block? Aris went over Dragunov in Tekken 6 back in a really old iteration of Level Up Your Game on Rip's channel if you dig. He's fairly strong, but not monstrous. I would say upper-mid tier.

Lars' d3, 1 was quite unique as well. Fairly weak but if you wanted to literally pull someone to the wall behind you or switch sides and get some spacing whilst putting in a cheeky 10 - 15 damage, d3, 1 was a good ender.

Lars also had a just frame DE 1,2 that gives a double hit with his DE 1. If you press 2 at the same time DE 1 hits, DE 1 will give a double hit that gives twice the damage than the normal one. They removed that in the following Tekken games.

I am a beginner in Tekken , but I went straight to Ultra Hard in every game mode in 5 DR and I am really am getting better with movements , starting to do some combos , slowly getting the hang off of electrics (using Kazuya btw) and only started 5DR for like two weeks or probably less. So what beginners of tekken games should really start to do is to get their ass beaten with a moderate-hard to use characters , it's more rewarding when you figure things out with hard characters , easy characters will most likely make the game boring if anything.

SF, legacy, that series created fighting games as we know them and 3rd Strike and 4 are very highly regarded. 5 beign a disappointing game doesn't change that, Street Fighter built a serious reputation. MK, presentation. Violence sells, and MK games have tons of single player content. Basically it's the one fighting game that has casual gamers on lock, although it struggles to truly solidify itself as an esports series. In fact, you could argue that Tekken 7 and MK11 have polar opposite issues, but that's the gist of it.

His best crush move is like -10000 on block. Don't press buttons you won't eat a lightning screw. He doesn't have good low pokes and all his big lows are launch punishable. df2 is CH launch and is -9. Loses his turn. None of his launchers are safe.

Yeah lol if you wanted wall carry after uf4 or DEN 1+2 you have to time the f123 string. No need for that in tekken 7. Also df1 into dash db2 is kinda tricky in T6. df1 into b3 is easy and consistent in t7.

His 12f isn't broken it's just good. And even WITH that good 12f punish he's trash in T7. For fucks sake Mishimas have a 10f punish that knocks down and wall splats but I've never seen anyone say flash punch is broken.

It was f 2,1 which was a natural combo into SE 1 or his rage drive on a 12 frame punish. Using SE 1 gave him really good damage and was a wall bounce. Using his rage drive can net you so much damage without a wall.
