The character's I've forever wanted to pick up, but always dropped because of lack of helpful information. This definitely solves that. You really did a good job on this. Edit: And Dennis too!
Minor corrections and stuff here and there: Kuma has an i11 block punish from standing - 1,2. This does 1 more point of damage than 2,1 and gives you 4 more frames of advantage on hit (+6 vs +2). Doesn't matter too much, but useful if you can remember to use it. If you need to punish something that recovers in crouch (and is safer than -15), d/f+4 works for i12 and d+1+2 is decent at i14. He also gets b,f+2 at i16, which is notable as it's an S! first launcher that punishes Deathfist and similiar moves at almost all ranges. Kuma's standard jab poke is not 2. It's actually f+1, which has the generic jab frame data (i10, +1/+8/+8). 2 is -1 on block. Just be careful not to accidentally go into f+1,1,1 as good opponents will launch you on block. You're right, there are better options off f+1,1,1 - b+2,1, b+2,1~3+4 HBS d/f+1,1 S! WR+1+2 does a whopping 73 damage (the initial launch isn't actually an S!, though it does look a bit like one). You are very wrong on d/f+1,2,1,2, it it actually worth considering. If the first hit is a CH, the whole string is guaranteed AND launches for a ton of damage. As the third hit is safe at a very comfortable -4, you can toss this out every once in a while to see if it does its magic. For some reason though this only works if the first hit counters, a CH on any later hit will not yield a launch. Be aware that b+1 into HBS is launch punishable on block, if your opponent reads it he can just hopkick. But then, of course, you can just do b+1 and punish his hopkick. Another decent tool for up close is u/f+1 (jumping safe mid, KND on hit into free f,f+2 or crouch cancel b+1). One cool thing about d/b+3 is that it's only -8 on block, but against better opponents you'll likely just get low parried anyway. Another low that's kinda decent is b,f+2+3. It does a grip, knocks down and blows the opponent far away, is only -12 on block and can be charged, becoming unblockable after a while. It's very gimmicky, but can definitely catch people off guard. HBS d+1+2 on CH actually gives you a free HBS d/f+2 for a full combo. Even better. HBS d/f+1,1 has a small delay window between the hits, allowing you to potentially hit confirm the string. HBS f+1+2 (the throw) is unbreakable. HBS 1+2 has crazy evasion. It goes through dickjabs. Seriously. But that only works on Kuma's head and maybe a bit of his torso, it doesn't evade Drag's d/f+4 for example because that reaches all the way to the middle of the character. HBS b+1+2,1+2 can't be low parried, it must be blocked. Minor, but could come up. I think Kuma's best option off f,f+2 is u/f+1+2, b,f+2 S! b+2,1~3+4 HBS d+1+2, HBS d/f+2. You can also do the other ender with HBS d/f+1,1 for wall carry. One more wall combo I like is b+2,1~3+4 HBS 1,2. Less damage, better oki. This may have seemed very nitpicky, but I did like the video a lot, it's great to see more people liking the bears. Thanks for the guides.

L O V E L A I N Hope he notices your comment, thanks for the time you Had writing all of that! Also Quick Note I know there is a secret tech about HBS b1+2,1+2 having a "Just frame" version can tou talk about it if you know something? I think it does more damage and wall splats.

Great beginner tutorial. I main bears and hang out in red rank with them. This was interesting. Some notes: -WR+1+2 should be abused, heavily. Not only because of the frame advantage, but because it stays active for a very long time (something not so common in Tekken). Aside from going into HBS raw (3+4), and WR+1+2 is one of the safest ways to get into HBS. Also a great combo ender to give mixup. It can be walked, so beware of that. -f+1 is a great poke and has a pretty good hit box. It's also +1 on block. Worth throwing out if people are trying to run in on you with WR moves. -d/b+4 is more akin to a slow hellsweep than a snake edge, if that means anything. It's a slow hellsweep, but from it's animation it's more so that then a snake edge. -d/b+3 is a low poke that leaves Kuma still standing and is +3 on hit. I know you mentioned it, but it has amazing frame advantage. Not to be confused with 2,1,3. Even though the last hit looks the same, 2,1,3 leaves you at -3 on hit. -Kuma's roll (ROL) should be thought of as a different stance than HBS altogether, being that you access it without going into HBS by doing FC, d/f+1+2. Kuma also has a couple moves off of his lay down positions, depending on which way he is laying down. He also has three moves out of hit sitting (SIT) stance. -CH HBS d+1+2 into d/f+2 is guaranteed and will lead to near-half life combos. The opponent can hold back if they get hit with the HBS d+1+2 to fall out of it, but if they don't hold back the launch is guaranteed. -The HBS f+1+2 throw is unbreakable. -After landing CH f+1,1,1, you can do b+2,1~3+4 (HBS), d/f+1,1 (S!), then end it however you want.

hey @framewhisperer tekken can you help me out with a miguel combo? its Sstance 1+2 , ff3 , db2 , df 1 , SS 1,2,1. its the combo from your miguel guide. The problem I have with it is the df1. It hits randomly, i cant figure out what makes it hit or not. I experimented with timing and distance but still cant figure out whats wrong. Hope you read this :)
@FrameWhisperer6 жыл бұрын
Good question mate. To make the df1 hit, perform a side step right after the ff3 spin move, before performing db2. If the side step is deep enough, the combo should work every time. Hope that helps!

Paul is pretty useful. Easy to learn, hard to master. Oh, and the hot chick, Katarina. Just spam her kick moves like crazy and you'll get results. Just avoid characters like Steve, Bryan and Nina. They take hours of practice.
@raymondjaysarte70486 жыл бұрын
can anyone explain how to safe block hunting stance?
@FrameWhisperer6 жыл бұрын
They will do either a mid or a low after entering the stance. My tip would be stand block 80% of the time because the mids are much more dangerous. As soon as you block a single move, throw a fast low poke. It will interrupt the next HBS move and usually catch the bear if it cancels the stance and stand blocks (which is what good bear players will do).
