something i learned the hard way, when starting tekken (new, started with 8): "If you dont know the string the opponent is doing, BLOCK IT, and dont try to interrupt it". trying to interrupt strings, when you dont know that the string does, will lead to some easy losses

Ok, a little tip for going against Azucena, her dodge stance dodges all highs and lows, and youre playing steve, whos moves are all highs and mids, so go for attacks that are mids, lows and highs are useless. I would use the tekken fandom wiki and the ingame move list hit spots to see which start with mids

As someone who stumbles into your chanel, I’m happy to see someone is really trying hard to understand this game. I played T7 but I’m still confused with T8, so I’m kinda happy to see someone in the same space as me so we can grow together :D And maybe a little bit of a note, I realized your movement to go back and forth are just pressing the button, try pressing them twice, like back back or forward forward, you’ll move fast and your opponent might whiffed with the distance you put between them and you can reach your opponent faster :3

Steve isn't a newbie friendly char. Poor lows plus he doesn't have very fast / reliable launchers for example and mainly need to counter hit for the combos. Also vulnerable to chars with punch parry / sabaki ( vs high / med punches).

Bro go do the arcade quest with your Steve level up your skills, do ghost battles like crazy then do rank. I'm a Yoshi main and did the same thing. I've lost 4 or 5 battles in ranked. You got to get your skills up outside of rank first otherwise every online match is gonna be a beat down for you

My dude, 30fps is hard to watch, it is such a high octane game, its makes my eyes bleed watching your vids. Record in 60fps pls. Reduce the quality if you cant handle the bitrate, but give us the fidelity. Nice seeing you progress from the last vid that I've just watches. While you got the hang of throws and heat basics, you still have so much starter mechanics to learn lmao, its gonna be a looooooong ride. Now it's time to figure out launchers/tornadoes, sidesteps and your stances, cuz so far it seems like youre dodging on pure random 😅.
