Despite appearing only in 2 mainline games and the Tag games, Jun always had a strong presence in Tekken. She always looks good and her outfits always had a form of character and symbolism to her and the role she plays.❤

Yeah. I’ve always liked that about Jun’s designs. Her designs always inform her character and there’s always a reference or idea in regard to her upbringing; like the usage of Shintoism elements and her connection to spirits.

@@jbbelenkokoro2673 They’re probably going to look into Jun’s philosophies and Jin’s upbringing; I feel like that’s been shrouded in mystery for a longggg time. I hope we get some of those interactions, at least! But, not seeing Asuka in the story trailer had me puzzled. 🤔

I would've thought it would be in T8 but I think most the default costumes have been shown now and I can't actually remember if she has it or not 🤔 I think nearly all characters got their previous looks from their most recent game as an outfit option. EDIT: I went and checked and it seems like she doesn't actually have the TTT2 outfit so far. One of the outfits she has looks like it's inspired by TTT2 and her Tekken 2 player 2 outfit but I don't think it's actually either of them. It looks more similar to the Tekken 2 outfit instead of TTT2 tbh.

Ahhh I remember a video back in the day called it “ namco’s law” and it’s like the guys are allowed to age however they like but any woman who reaches age 40 is replaced , stopped aging through science or magic or some other stuff. The way this was rampant in all of namco’s fighting games back in the day ( the characters in Soul Calibur and Tekken Alone are just baffling from a story perspective ) I’m glad that they have since decided to bring back some of their older ladies and showcase them again though I absolutely agree with you that this is a thing throughout fighting games in general . Though we love these stories that the teams tell us it kinda takes away from the story when the timeline of events is harder to understand. Street fighters timeline confusion( 4 and 5 take place before 3 I believe ) , the fact that if you get into the story of Dead or alive multiple games happen in a year or two and yet the characters don’t age. The latter half of tekken story also happening like waaaaay to close to eachother ( I’m talking 5 onward )

Yep, 100% agree with your points there. Also, I find it odd how Jun has story importance but left her out for most of the game. Have to see what the excuse is here… It’s annoying, however, when you point this out to certain people and you get things like “So you want women to look ugly?” or “They’re fictional characters….so??” And I just have to roll my eyes lol. Women age, ya know. Can you not criticise something you like? 😭 To add: I disagree with beauty standards being the sole reason that the faces of the women and girl chars look that way in 8, because we had more defined faces and body type variation in Tag 2. What’s the excuse there? LOL. I’m not saying those things doesn’t impact how in a male oriented industry they design characters, but like… IDK about that.

Yeah it's kind of hilarious because it's a 19 year gap from T2 to T3, but from that point on, T3 to T8 happens in a span of like 3 years.

It’s amazing that Player 2 outfit is more iconic than Player 1 from Tekken 2. I don’t think Namco knew what they made and how Jun was gonna forever labeled with that outfit.

yeah, I actually had no idea her main outfit was player 2 until I made this video 😅 But it was featured more in promotional art and is a fan favourite, so it makes sense.

Jun being one of my OG favorites way back in the early days, all her looks were pretty cool. I'm quite partial to her Tekken 2 looks but mainly because it's so nostalgiac and takes me back to the1990s. I agree that while her 2player is great, her 1player is so nicely done as well. Manages to look cute, stylish, but also something you could see her actually wearing on a summer day in the forest. I'm just partial to 90s designs that use denim in them lol Her look in Tag 2 though, I too really love. It manages to fit her mysterious and gentle nature but has that "fighter" element to it as well. I was blown away when I first saw it but it's probably also because it had been so long since we had seen Jun and the new look felt like a great "comeback" type out outfit. As for her Tekken 8 look, I think the outfit is gorgeous, a beautiful update for her evne though I'll admit, I don't reallly like how they rendered her face. It's not that her face looks bad or anything, I just don't like how young they made her look when she's supposed to be in her 40s, they could've just given her at least some slight subtle wrinkles but nitpicking on her face aside, the outfit is beautiful, I love how they went with a high-low dress with some capris to keep that modesty that she's known to have. The waist-cincher was also a nice added touch as well. And that shrine maiden look is stunning as well

I basically never comment on videos but I loved this, especially the breakdowns into the appearances. Pretty sure someone else recommended this but, an overview of Lili would be amazing. Her Tekken 5 Player 1 outfit is a very different take to the rest of hers, and I feel like it’d be interesting for a video.

7:09 Her facial features and the overall design in TTT2 was just perfection in my opinion, and it really looks like she actually IS Jin's mother. I wished that her face remained the same in Tekken 8. Only Kazuya's face is accurate in the family but older, while Jin went through another plastic surgery. 😏 Same with Jun and she also turned younger slimmer. Her outfit is spot on, though.

@@fragmentedpixels Well, check in Jin's facial features in TTT2 (which I thought looked more accurate to his Tekken 3 and TTT1 render). Then jump over to Tekken 7 and then T8 to see how different he looks. As for Jun, you don't think her face in T8 looks different from TTT2?

@@_Adjei_ Yeah, I agree that Jun’s face is different in Tekken 8. I meant as in outside of the face change, I like her outfit in 8. Hm… I see what you mean with Jin’s face. they discarded the old models, and made those from scratch. so, I guess this was their take on Jin due to that? But you still know it’s him. Come to think of it, I wonder what their references were for Jin’s face for the game. I’m fine with it, IMO.

@@fragmentedpixels Yes, I mentioned earlier in the comment that I like Jun's outfit in T8 by saying that it's spot on. I have mostly no issues with any the character outfits and I think that's where it shines in the series. I'm just picky when it comes facial features in sequels not being accurate if the face structure changes too much to the point where a character start to look like a different person. If you look at Steve Fox in T8 for example, there has been alot of critisism over his new face, which surprised me a bit cause I never hear similar critisism on any other characters. Updating a character model from scratch with more polygons, textures along with the lightning for better visual is great. I just think that the same should also apply to making the character stay accurate in terms of the face structure (the jawline, size of the eyes, lips etc.) and maybe age them up depending on the timeline, if you know what I mean.

They should be as consistent as possible; but 8 seems to have this problem with some chars-Steve’s face wasn’t it.😭 I think there’s a misunderstanding with my comment: I did say that Jun’s face shouldn’t have been changed in 8 as her face in Tag 2 was fine. As in: why wasn’t that her face in 8?

i do agree TT2 Jun Kazama is her best outfit she isn't old at 43 but still T8 might reveal she survive Ogre bc of the "Unknown" gene

Jun Kazama is my Tekken 8 main - I used to go for Devil Jin in Tekken 5 and I don’t know how the transition happened when I got my hands on Tekken 8, but I wanted to try her out and I love her now! And also, despite not playing Tekken 2 I always felt how important Jun was and was hoping she’d come back someday, I’m so glad she’s here. 🩷 My favourite outfit of hers is definitely her exorcist outfit (default 3 in Tekken 8) because I love the traditional Japanese elements and the reference to her purifying powers, and also because the details are stunning. THE EMBROIDERY IS EVERYTHING! I customized that outfit to be in a black base and have turquoise accents, it looks so mystic and ethereal. 😍😍😍 P.S: another character idea to consider - Julia Chang is one of my favourite Tekken characters ever (hate what they’ve done to her in Tekken 7, though), would you think that would be a good idea for one of your next videos? 🩵

I mained Jun in Tag 2 and paired her with either Jin, Asuka, or Unknown. Good times. I’m hoping to main her again in Tekken 8! I’m also glad she’s back after 84 years. 😆 Oooh, the player 3 look in turquoise sounds very cool! Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been meaning to look into Julia’s outfits as well. Not a fan of the fact she’s now a… streamer? 🙃

I prefer her Tag 2 look more than the one in 8. The one in 8 is beautiful, and I like that it alludes to a miko outfit (she IS from a family of spiritual guardians), but the one in TTT2 is both simple and elegant at the same time. It also looks like an outfit that would be much easier to fight with.

Same here, actually. It’s also an outfit that alludes to or has that element of mystery that Jun has as a character. Compared to Jun’s designs in 8 including the miko outfit, they seem very… mythical? Like, especially her main outfit. I hope Jun isn’t a spirit at the end of all this 😭

Jun doesn’t look very old in the earlier games, though? I don’t agree with that, in my opinion. However, in Tekken 8-I agree with the odd reverse ageing (especially when you compare to Tag 2). I was very confused as to why Jun’s face was drastically different… like her Tag 2 face was the best and I’m surprised they didn’t base her face on that model, at least.
