I love how when each character in T5 DR was given an experimental alternate color for their T5 vanilla look, she was the only one who adopted the DR color (orange) as her new signature onwards.

I agree with your points. Also, the motion physics in this game were really good-especially for a PS2 game. I think about the airport stage in particular and how fluid the motion of wind looks on the character models. I love that stage.

Her Tekken 4 and 5 outfits are so iconic to me.❤ Xiaoyu has been my main ever since I was a kid, so her fashion is always on point for me. Her Tekken 8 look feels like a love letter to the character giving off a mature look, but retaining the playfulness.❤

I agree! I’d say her Tekken 8 design is a return to form. Her Tekken 4 look was a major glow up for Xiaoyu, and her Tekken 5 outfit is great.

I love how she aged like fine wine. She looked like "la chilindrina" from El Chavo del Ocho in Tekken 3, and now she's a super beautiful and sexy little woman. Jin would be a fool if he ignores the girl who is perfect for his life.

believe me, I would’ve-however, I’m focused on her main/key outfits in the games. I prefer to streamline my ranked videos in this way, rather than cover every single costume, which I think can be time-consuming.

Personally I love Xiaoyu’s Tekken 8 outfit best (me again, I know! xD) because her overall design is the most beautiful to me - I love the element of feathers added to the outfit as they nicknamed her “The Dancing Phoenix”, the fabric of the dress is STUNNING and it reflects her Chinese origin (despite her speaking Japanese in the games), and it doesn’t constrict her anywhere so she has the freedom of movement to fight. 🖤🧡 I also LOVE that her Tekken 8 design has more maturity - in the previous games she looked like a literal child (though she was a teenager until Tekken 7 or 8), and now her design reflects the maturity that her character has reached in the most recent game. Her sporty looks are pretty cool and I think they work with her, I’m not surprised that you ranked her Tekken 4 look as the first. Overall I love that all her looks reflect her nature - playful, kind and happy, even when they’re in darker colors like her black and white Tekken 8 dress. ❤️ Also, did you consider doing Nina Williams next? I think some of her looks are super interesting and she’s also one of the few characters that was present in every Tekken 8 game from the very beginning. 💜

I agree with your points! Xiaoyu’s outfit in Tekken 8 is great and actually exceeded my expectations. Her sporty looks are just as great, too. Yeah, I’ve been meaning to do Nina’s looks in Tekken, actually! She has a huge wardrobe but as usual I’ll condense and stick with canonical outfits/worn in-game. I’m also assuming you’re a new sub? her T8 design IMO, is the best design! really shows her growth as a character and as a fighter. also worth noting that her P2 outfits for 4/5/6 all have bunny motifs to them, which is perfect for her. It seems though as theyve come to mature her more in her writing, theyve ditched the imagery which i dont really mind. as for her T7 design, if it werent for the asymmetry going on, it wouldve been a really bland design. it's IMO one of the more boring redesigns for the game. it's very interesting how far lowering her pigtails went tho. it seems like such a small thing but it really helped mature her look while retaining that playfulness.

I agree. I’ve also noticed those bunny motifs-your point there is interesting as I also think that suits the character. It looks like they’re showing a mature character in regard to her personality now-I think they’re now realising that they can’t ignore their main characters, ha! I also agree with your point on the Tekken 7 look. It’s quite underwhelming compared to her other looks she’s had over the years. It’s not the worst… just forgettable? Well, to me it is. 😅 Oh, they lowered the pigtails? I didn’t notice that, actually.

For me i rly miss everything about the T5 pink xiaoyu I feel like that xiaoyu is the most one that represents xiaoyu personality and aesthetic from the voice to the design. But overall I agree with the most of ur ranking, and i also wanna mention how well done the video and the editing was, it's pretty cool!! ❤

thanks, much appreciated! 🙂 Yeah. I like that design and it fits the character well. I kind of miss Xiaoyu’s older voice (voiced by Yumi Toma) since that’s the one I remember hearing the most. Her recent voice is great also. I guess they made that decision since they heard how the voice actor (Maaya Sakamoto) sounded in Tekken: Blood Vengeance.

If I had to say, her best design imo was her Tekken 4 dress look since it looked like a good fit(girly and casual but still practical to wear with the short shorts under), and I liked her T5 default since it complimented her character and seemed to also be comfortable to fight in. Her T7 look was OK but idk, it seemed way too over styled in the skirt part to be practical in a fight, but her Tekken 8 look I think did good making her costume more traditional but still looking like it'd suit her mobility. As far as alternates, I think her T4 sporty look was OK but wasn't really that fitting for her. I prefer the yellow sleeveless version of the sporty look in T5 since it seems they added more feminine touches to it to make it more something she'd wear like the bunny hood, bunny tail on the back, and making it a sleeveless hoodie vest rather than the open hoodie it was in T4. Don't care for her Tekken 6 alternate, it seemed too bland and didn't really stand out which made it forgettable.

Hey, you’re the person that does virtual photography on Twitter! I love your shots. And, hm, that’s interesting in regard to your point on the T4 sporty look. I guess, for me, that look was trademark because it was such a different, yet believable look. She’s a very determined and honest character, especially when it comes to her martial arts-so I thought it was a great look. The skirt I like, too, but the trainers make them stand out. I like how each design nods to that femininity. I mean, I know you’ll disagree with this, but even with her T4 design; like having the crop top and crop cardigan. Overall, I’d say her most practical and casual looks are generally the best ones.

T7 outfit, the face was kinda weird, but almost all t7 faces were weird so not gonna count that, her t7 look just looked more complete and battle ready, the other outfits either looked bad, or they always gave me a feeling like, there's something missing. Also the purple hair bands are maid to look like flowers, kinda random but I like it since it makes her hair looka bit more nice, cause to be honest I always hated her hairstyle, and the other donut hair bands no matter the color just looked bad or boring. yeah, Tekken 7 generally looked odd, especially in regard to the faces. her look there wasn’t bad though. in regard to the hair bands-I guess so? but they were originally orange in the arcade version of 7, so I found that minor detail odd. and really? I think the donut hairbands are cute! just my opinion, though. 😅
