@chew4291 Mad Catz are from the US, yes, but they use Japanese parts on the TE sticks I think (stick and buttons are Sanwa I think? not 100 % sure though) so this method should work on a TE stick just as well.

awesome, no 1 ever went into detail about not to release b before u hit db,THANK YOU
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 13 жыл бұрын
@bludika no problem. Both methods work as said. You can slide the stick down to d/b from the b or do b~n~d/b. Personally I do b~n~d/b on 1p side and d,slide to d/b on 2p side because I find an individual d/b input on 2p more often results in a SWY by accident. That’s strange, did you try a different hand hold/angle when doing the d/b? As long as your angle when releasing it is over 45 degrees the d microswitch should be release slightly erlier than the b microswitch, resulting in a d/b,b...
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 13 жыл бұрын
@bludika P2 is indeed harder and takes more time to practice. But if you dedicate enough time to it you'll be able to get it down, don't worry, just keep trying and remember to start slowly until the hand motion becomes muscle memory. What doesn't register exactly? The d/b~b when releasing the d/b? I suppose that's the problem because that's the hardest part to it at first. Just put command history on and try to release the stick correctly (hand angle over 45 degrees) so that you get a d/b~b.

@llKBBll I hear wavedash is slightly easier on the Fanta with its stiffer rubber instead of the gate, but it's a little hard to get use to and to find directionals at first. It's just preference though, many top Japan players have perfect execution and wavedashes on their J-sticks too.
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 13 жыл бұрын
@bludika That's true, but it's just a matter of practice even on p2 side. For improving I can only recommend pactice it's the only thing you can do, as silly as that may sound. Also, don't be afraid to ask your opponents if you can always play on p2 side because you want to improve your p2 movement, that helps a lot if done for a longer time.

@BlackPriest1984 yea, its just feels different on the p2 side since you gotta like slide it down with your palm compared to just doing back, d/b, back, d/b on p1 side which is really easy for me to do and i can do it well, but for some reason, I can't be as precise on the d/b on the p2 side when I'm sliding it down from back, the feel is different.

hii ^^ thanks for the tutorial wanna ask you something about the stick you know there are another type of the analoge i think called Triangle stick , do you think that is better than sqare ?
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 13 жыл бұрын
@chaoarecool On a square gate. I'm not quite sure how this technique works on octagonal gates. You might very well need to input two B inputs as in a b,b, d/b~b,b, d/b~b,b, d/b~b,b, on octagonal gates for the BDC to work. The best advise I can give you is prolly to put command history on and try different inputs/techniques and check which one works, then practice it.

@bludika Hey man. Try turning command history on and try a few different hand/finger positions when doing the d/b. Personally I do an individual d/b on 1p side and slide down from b on 2p side to avoid sway inputs, but both methods work, it's just preference. The neutral after the d/b is important though.

What gate do you play on. I'm having trouble telling if i'm doing it right on my octagonal. for the most part i do B~B~D/B really fast after the first BDC dose that work or do i have to Do B~B~D/B then do B~N~D/B ect

@BlackPriest1984 thanks for your reply, what i meant was, do i do B,B, N, D/B, N, B, N, D/B, N, B... or do i do B, B, then slide from the B to D/B, N, B, slide from D/B again and so on? For some reason, my D/B doesn't seem to buffer the B so when I go from D/B, N, B, i dont backdash, instead I just get stuck, this is one thing I still can't get it down well on my stick

i need some tips, When i try back dash canceling on my stick(sanwa jlf, octagonal gate), I do B, B, then slide to D/B. then go to neutral, then do B but for some reason, i do not backdash, as if the D/B before the B did not buffer. Also, am i supposed to input D/B from B individually, or do I slide from the 2nd B input to D/B? any help with this would be appreciated, thanks!

question, does the the d/b have to be frame perfect? Cuz on a sanwa, my d/b sometimes registers as "d, d/b".
@tfhorth
@tfhorth 12 жыл бұрын
did you figure out a good way around this? I'm having the same problem, mostly on 2p side. Releasing the d/b doesn't always automatically give me a back input as well, which means my next b won't register as the second part of a dash. I'm having to push the stick up a little bit before releasing to neutral to ensure it registers a b input. Seems ok so far but a bit slower. I probably just need more practice.

bdc on p2 side is just a lot more difficult to feel it, i realized when you try to bdc on p2, you gotta be more sensitive, on p1 side, i can do it so much faster and easier, how can i improve the speed on p2 side cuz im a lot slower on the p2 side with backdashing

Can someone tell me what the preferred fightstick for this game is, im gonna probably buy one and i would like to know.
@bludika
@bludika 13 жыл бұрын
@BlackPriest1984 yea, on p2 side, when i go B, B, then slide to DB, then I release to N, then quickly go B, it sometimes doesn't backdash as if the B in the DB did not register, for some reason the precision is much more strict on the P2 side cuz i can tell there is a small spot where I slide down to for DB(im using octagonal gate) but i can't do it 100%, also is bdc easier with a stiffer or stock sanwa jlf looseness? i stiffened my stick because the stock jlf felt too loose
@bludika
@bludika 13 жыл бұрын
@BlackPriest1984 im getting the hang of doing it on P1 side, because the execution is easier but I'm having a hard time on P2 side, because it's really straining on the hand to try to input Back, Downback repeatedly. When I slide from B to DB, then go N, then do B, slide to DB, it doesn't register. Any help on this? for some reason it only works when i do individual inputs of B and DB, but doesn't work well if I do B slide to DB, N, then B~DB... it doesn't work. a lil help would be appreciated

I can't seem to get that micro switch trick to work :/ I'm playing on the Hori RAP4 and even though I release the down back to neutral I never get that added back input, I have to twist the stick in a weird way when I release it to get it. Maybe its the stock stick that came with the RAP4? Do you recommend any specific kinds of joysticks?
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 7 жыл бұрын
ChaosxPaladin yeah you have to learn to do the movement so that the b input registers. The hrap4 should be fine, I started on the standard hrap3 and it worked just fine. Hmm it's preference, Korean Myoungshin Fanta sticks are awesome because they have a round gate instead of an octagonal one thus making inputs more fluid imho, bit in the end it all comes down to your technique, and I currently also use a hrap4. Don't give up man, practice and you'll get it down soon you'll see.

it took me about 3 hours in total on practice mode. just kept trying, never gave up. everyday i'd spend a little time trying to backdash cancel before I play any matches and now i can do it like about 4-5 times in a row. Just gotta get it into muscle memory, and then work on speed. atm I think i can do 4 BDCs about 1.5X faster than the max speed I can do ordinary BDs. The very fist time i did 3 consecutive BDCs it was much slower than just BD and it seemed pointless, but just trust the genius behind this technique. once you get that trick of the buffered back input in muscle memory, everything changes. almost feel like its a disadvantage to play on pad.... keep in mind I've never used an arcade stick before
@StormHowl
@StormHowl 7 жыл бұрын
I'm able to do it on player 1 side now, but player 2 side is a lot harder. I just use the cheat method for now on that side until I can get it proper. This game is tough, but that's why I love it.

How do you release the stick "correctly"? I don't get the additional "back" on release.
@Dom_Fl
@Dom_Fl 7 жыл бұрын
Twitchy what do you get if you check the command history? Basically you want to release it so that the down microswitch releases earlier than the back microswitch (both combined create the d/b). Basically you don't want to release it at a higher than 45 degree angle. Experiment a little with different hand and finger mivement until you get the right commands.

I prefer stick, but there's great players, mostly in the US and Europe, that play on pad too, so I'd say unless you play on a godlike level like the pros in Asia you can do great with either. Definitely takes a bit to get used to the stick though so if you think fighting games are your thing and you'll play them for years you might as well get one early. Good matches and have fun mate.

Damm I dind't know it was hard to learn this stuff, I just started using a custom arcade stick and it will take weeks for I completely get it under control. I do the backdash on a ps3 controller at this moment and I can tell you it is funny how I make this techniek works using a ps3 joystick. Only need to be fast and secure, but I recommended to buy arcade fight stick too cuz Its much better....
