Everyone is stuck at first. This is something that you will need to practice forever. It takes time and you will always improve. I look at movement in Tekken like playing an instrument. Gotta start slow and do rudimentary exercises. I guarantee you will improve.

Used this Tutorial in 2020 after playing T7 for 3 years and wanting to get better at Tekken rather than astay at a casual level, and I have to say, Aris has always had amazing tutorials! Started with his SCII Guides back in 2012-2013 and came to this without knowing it was him. Amazing content creator and tutorial maker too.

WOW! TY Aris this is fantastic to know. Now after trying for 5 minutes I realize that to be able to do this it's going to take hours and hours of practice. This is very difficult to do quickly and actually requires quite a bit of precision.

I've always had trouble holding the stick that way >_> I usually have the shaft in between my ring and middle finger. Any ideas on doing it with that? or should I go with your method?
@Sonicpiece11 жыл бұрын
But see aris, when you go back to neutral your getting anouther back input, without even trying, i usually am only getting a clean b,d/b,n. I don't want to only use Hayashida with Nina, but idk if you have any tips on getting a steady extra b input.
@Zannosuke12 жыл бұрын
It's doable. Just ask NYC Fab or Fighting GM. Besides, I can electric sidestep like nothing on a pad, but have major issues with it on stick.
@Dosimetri12 жыл бұрын
the input goes: b (i.e. left 1p), b, -slight pause- d, d/b, b, b, -slight pause-, etc
@AeolusMN11 жыл бұрын
I actually learned it the "proper" way because i wanted to use Nina, also helped me on the 2P side as i found that method easier than the bb, qcf, b method

i prefer using the sway character method to Korean backdash specialy if you are using a Japanese arcade stick with square gate . this took me about a month to a month and half to get a gang of but it really improve the way i move in tekken making me a moving target rather than a sitting duck .
@Dosimetri12 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've got a problem. I use sway characters so I want to use the b,b,d/b,b,d/b method that you described and it doesn't work on my TE because I get no consistent inputs on the return to neutral let alone the first back of another backdash... So I'm stuck basically.

@iamthewickedchild12 жыл бұрын
With stock JLF? Only reason I asked is because that ball top looks like those crystal Seimitsu ones. I am contemplating on replacing my JLF with Seimitsus. Is it true that Seimitsu is good for Tekken because of the shorter throw and stiffness? I heard that that diagonals on Seimitsus are wonky and I don't like.

Nice tutorial from Aris.Both backlash and wavedash/lightdash are possible to do with a regular controller but it's of course extremely hard cause with a controller you have to do with buttons and not with a stick with which you can qcf or qcb too easily.I still prefer my a.stick and I recommend it to everyone else especially to the Mishima players.

lol the title of the video is tekken, not fighting games in general, but ill let you off for that in terms of overall fighting games common factors and community. however not specifically for tekken purposes, many players use pad, rather obvious but i can start doing surveys since tag 2 is out. you say you won i45/i46 was that in tekken? since the last one was won by ryan hart. you won if you say so, like you said to me above, same goes.

Yo Aris, Im having serious issues with my backdash. on both sides Ive got it down to a point where it looks almost like the korean backdash, but the problem is, after my last backdash even though im holding back im apparently not blocking? Cause I always get slapped by some random launcher or some move with a huge crushbox like bryans f f+2 or an EWGF. I know the game has an auto-block feature, but if ur backdashing and holding back will this feature activate if i simply let the stick go?

+CoviellotheScrub The Main Man isn't bad, but there are other channels out there. Be sure to look everywhere to see. Back, back, down, back will still work because you will end up doing a quarter circle motion anyway. So, it still works. I've been doing it that way on Xbox and PS3 using the respective controllers for both.

Tapping back won't do this. The idea is that it's like wavedashing in marvel. You actually have to back dash and crouch and repeat. This is an easier way of performing it. Though it's not terribly easy. Jeez. Just spamming back won't move your character anywhere quickly.
