Do you run a patch with oil when finished? Isn't it a steel barrel that needs a thin film of oil to keep it from rusting?

You shouldn’t clean the barrel from that end. Always clean from the receiver end.

@@Lawnmower-os5pg you can if you insert the rod in the muzzle end with no brush or jag and then screw the brush or jag on from the chamber end then pull it out, remove the brush or jag from the rod and repeat
