Not watched TV or had a licence since 2015. Plenty of the old good stuff to watch here on YT, the bilge they churn out today is absolutely worthless. I want to be entertained and not indoctrinated and preached to.

I just want to thank you for this channel, I cancelled my sky in October cos I couldn't afford it anymore and I also cancelled my tv licence. I'm not watching anything I'm not supposed to but I still felt a bit worried. Thanks to your videos, I'm not worried anymore. Keep up the good work.

I’ve got a direct debit with tv licence, they’ve had £287 off me this year I’ve cancelled the direct debit now

Not sure how they've charged you £287 in one year, that's got to be a mistake somewhere along the line. When you first set up a direct debit for the licence you pay for the first year over the first 6 months at £26.50 per month. The next 6 months you pay £13.25 per month which then always keeps your payments 6 months in advance. If you add both these amounts together it only comes to £238.50 you the £287 you've paid is completely unacceptable. I hope you demanded a refund after cancelling your DD, by being 6 months in advance you should be owed £79.50 at the very least.

I’ve cancelled my direct debit with tv licence around the beginning of December, I haven’t spoken to them about being overcharged yet But I got a letter from them saying there’s been a problem with my direct debit dated 20th December wow….. nothing about being overcharged by them absolute scumbags

If you are partially sighted you have to pay full price. Only those with severe sight impairment qualify for a 50% discount.

Happy to say my license was automatically renewed in October and I’ve had enough of it as haven’t watched the bbc or live tv for years so filled in the online tv licencing no longer required form and got £136 refund into bank account the other day. No phoning up !🎉🎉

Today I recieved my latest TVL communication ... it is the 'Local Investigation' letter from the goons. I have just noticed that the 'Approved stamp' is dated 07 DEC 2023 ... at a jaunty angle to try to make it look realistic Haha

If you are paying monthly by Direct Debit they take six months in advance so if you cancel that remember to ask for a refund of those six months as well!

My dad is blind and a pensioner on pension credit and they tried to charge him 50%, until they learned I lived there and then they tried to charge full price because I can see and am not a pensioner... I don't even watch the bloody thing... I watch youtube and twitch, more interesting on there. So now... I pay nothing, have no plugs on my aerials and am eventually replacing my TV's with monitors (some nice 4K ones out there now but they're expensive).

No need to replace your TV set if you’re not watching live , it doesn’t matter if it’s capable of receiving live tv ! . My car is capable of 140mph but I don’t expect a speeding fine everyday .

@@antoniopalmero4063 It's mainly because I'm looking at building a new PC anyway and the monitor I'm looking at is way better than my TV for picture quality and the same size... but it also means that if the goons turn up they can't plug the aerial in, because there's no plug for it on a monitor. They have been seen in videos on here messing with peoples TV's if they made the mistake of letting them in.

When I cancelled in Aug. 2016 they only paid me back three months fees claiming they paid back in quarters but in 2017 the quarters repayment was scrapped, I believe someone took, or said, they would take them to court over it and their solicitors said it was very likely they would win and it would cause another overcharged and payback claim with solicitors in on the act saying all cost would be paid by the company, BBC, or by getting legal aid.

You cannot cancel your Broardband or Council tax, but you can with TV licence. Not really sure about broadband you can switch service at least, but even that's not getting any cheaper. Yes the vast majority of the internet is still free, like KZbin, tictok, twitter and so on.

Live tv is a confusing term ( intentional? ) scheduled tv could be an improvement. Currently legit over 2 years license free. No license required has ran out, so now I'm getting intimidating letters and threats of visits. So waiting to say no thanks (shuts door)

There are only two ways to pay less for a TV licence and they are being blind or receiving pension credit. There is always a third option of don't pay and watch whatever live TV you like but that could end up in a court visit and a fine. With the number of goons dwindling it's rare to be taken to court unless you incriminate yourself or they catch you watching a live TV program, if a goon turns up you only have to ask who they are and if they won't identify themselves just shut the door and that's the job done.

Nearly 26 years licence free and I watch what ever I want! If my telly was supposed to be unavailable to get programmes from the factory unless I had a licence I would never buy another TV. Until then I think I will enjoy another 26 years licence free!
