Hey, I have interview tomorrow at 2 PM and it's very far about 1h and 30m. I take the bus and train to get there. Any advice?
@aunoasoisoi63553 жыл бұрын
@@arolemaprarath3248 try and do some research and get to know the company better. Look into what they are looking for because most organizations tell us what they want. If you're anxious, try to do things that usually calm you down. It might be silly but make sure to get proper rest and a good meal prior that way your body is physically prepared for the interview. Depending on the job, if possible, I recommend taking an extra pair of clothes. Just in case anything happens on your longer commute there. It's always a plus to look presentable. You can do it! I hope things go well with your interview :)

@aunoasoisoi63553 жыл бұрын
@@arolemaprarath3248 no problem :) I would check out the website "Glassdoor" and search the job there. Usually there are reviews left by current and previous employees. Former employees love to talk about the nitty gritty within their company so I would look there for anything that might be a red flag for you. It's also just good to know for yourself, but remember it can be just an annoyed employee. However, if it's a scam, someone most likely has said it on there. Hope that helps!

I've used this a few times and it works really well! My only advice is to shorten your statement if possible and build achievement stories into the next few answers. Even going through the snapshot of your work history by yourself before the interview will give you a BUNCH of anecdotes to loads of questions. The first time I tried it it was very lengthy and didn't really work. Now I start by saying what I am doing currently, the job or education I did before this, a summary of my other industries and qualifications and THEN I a future statement about where I want to bring my experience/skills. "I am 26 years old, currently a team coordinator at ___. Before this I was studying __ and volunteering at ___. I have experience leading and motivating teams and would love to work more in the community sector!" I don't know why but I always start with my age 😅 After this they usually ask why you want the position. This is where I suggest spoon feeding them with the "I know you are looking for someone with xyz..." statement 😊

I agree with this video however, it depends on your delivery. No employer wants to hire a robot….they want someone who has personality, relatability, and open mindedness. Therefore when they ask me to tell them something about myself, I always include something personal that pertains to the job I’m applying for. It creates more of a human connection…and it’s always worked for me. 💯

Both of my parents are managers and have helped guide me through interview questions. When I asked them about the question "tell me about yourself" they said to literally say a few things about yourself. My parents said they dont wanna hear about what the employee has "achieved" in the past (not in a bad way); but they wanna hear about YOU as a person. What do you like doing on your free time? What are your hobbies? What are your interests? Things like that

I think the most important thing you have to had in interview is a good positive confident energy. People can see if you’re nervous but if you’re confident with your self they will start believing what you’re saying. But there’s a dangerous thin line of confident and arrogant, you need to also be humble to show that you willing to learn in the new work environment. And I think its better to start telling the chronological work experience from your current job rather than your first job. Hell if you’re moving a lot the interview will be long and boring. Just keep short and lively to engage your interviewer attention Today just went to interview and got the job 😊

What I "love" about most of the career coaches out there is that every time they give an example of people who have 10 years of experience in a certain role or industry, have won 20 rewards etc. What about people who dont have many years of experience, or have no experience, or havent won any rewards? If I have the profile described by most of the career coaches in their examples trust me I will not need a career coach to tell me how to answer interview questions... most of these videos are obviously made for managers or CEOs with thousands of years of experience and millions of awards.... What you do here is just to make normal people without rewards for their job feel even more nervous and scared of the interview as they are thinking:" Oh, no.... what do I do now? I obviously need to be an expert with 20 years of experience to answer even a simple interview question ..." I think it's very important to know your audience before making such a video and trust me your audience is not people that you describe in this video!

@@bilaltariq7819 what I am saying here is that she is telling people how they should talk about their rewards and many years of experience... without doing a research i can guarantee you that the biggest part of the people watching this video are probably newly graduates, or pretty young people who just hasn't had the time to win all the rewards she is talking about or the many years of experience so i am pretty sure these people can't relate to what she is saying. The only thing she can achieve here is to make them even more nervous for their interview because they cannot live up to the things she describes.... instead I think it could have been better if she could give examples for normal people who are in the beginning of their career path. But actually why am I explaining this to you...?!?! You obviously know better than anyone else.... just 1 question: what does a person like you (who has obviously "a lot to show/offer" ) do here watching this video? Why do you need someone to tell you how to answer this question 🤔

I think it can also depend on the job. I have an interview tomorrow for a student assistant at a library on the campus of the college I go to, and I think speaking about my extra curriculars are more important in this case. They want someone with music, dance, and theatre experience, and the clubs I have been a part of strongly pertain to that. I also believe that if you are a student clubs and extra curriculars count as professional history somewhat, so there's my two sense on it. Then again my Mom is a job placement specialist so she taught me to be good at this stuff xD.

Stakeholder analysis and political mapping. What it involves, is collecting information about the key organizations or individuals who can influence a particular policy decision that you’re concerned about, and I’ll give you an example. So, you collect information, like a detective, so, who are these organizations, what are their characteristics, they represent so and so, they’re so big, they have X amount of money, here’s their mission, here’s there programmes and here are their priorities, whatever they are, and what is the current position or thoughts about this particular policy issue...and you collect that information, and you can do that by looking at the newspaper, you can do that by calling them up nowadays, you can often go on the web and look at their websites and find out a lot about them. You can talk to other people who know the organizations...all those kind of things. It’s like detective work. You collect that information, you put it in a sort of library. Ok, so now I know about the twenty organizations that are gonna impact or influence this issue, and then you start mapping them. You say, ok, is this organization for or against, and you might try to answer the question, are they really strongly for or really strongly against, or are they just sort of...this is what they lean...but they might be... we could influence them. And then you ask the question, how powerful are they on this particular topic. And so you sort of have a map, and that’s a living document because it will change over time as the issue you are worried about unfolds, and also if you’re an advocate and you want to move...so you’re going to try to do things to move...if you’re for something, you want to try to move those people who are against it a little bit weaker in opposition, and you want to strengthen the supporters of it. So, that’s a basic technique, just detective work, who is going to influence this issue, what do I know about them and how can I move them in the direction I want to move. And here I want to give an example...some colleagues of mine have been involved for 15 years in the Philippines, promoting what they call an RH bill, that is a comprehensive bill on reproductive health. And the Philippines as you probably know, it’s a very catholic country, and the Catholic Church as an institution is very powerful politically, and for 15 years they’ve been working together on the reproductive health bill...it’s not a bill about abortion... abortion is illegal in the Philippines... the bill does not propose any change... it’s about the health and wellbeing of mothers and eventually their newborns. And they go through an ongoing process of figuring out who are the supporters of this bill and how can we make sure they continue to support and how can we make sure they support it more strongly and who is in opposition. And they’ve been tracking for example, the Catholic Church which has been in opposition and they keep on thinking, ok, how can we dull that opposition and, you know, they have been working, as I’ve said, for 15 years about this, and now they have actually a president of the Philippines for the very first time who is supporting the reproductive health bill and now sort of a balance in that map of stakeholders has shifted largely because they have a president who is supporting it. So, it’s a good example of a number of things in policy that relate to leadership in a sense that in policy you have to be patient, just like in leadership, because we have to be humble, we don’t control everything, and that’s true in both these arenas. In policy, you don’t control everything, you have to keep working at it until the circumstances shift and they are right for movement on the issue you are concerned with. So, my colleagues in the Philippines...for 15 years they’ve been working on this issue, a new president was elected who finally supports it and there’s now movement of this bill in congress of the Philippines.

Then you just let the person know, what you went to school for. You have a lot to give, you are moldeable..since you haven't worked for any company. You can find a common ground between you and the interviewer lol I usually always mentioned and mention I used to live in Spain, majority of people in good standing have travelled, that's always my common ground. Now that sounds personal, but not really depending on what you are applying for. Regularly people who have travelled are more conscious of others, you can describe yourself as a person who gets along with others even while being culturally different and that you have knowledge of how to speak with others with respect. Maybe not so helpful either but ..oh well.
