I'm currently 17, had an addiction since my 14~ and finally successfully quit it on the last summer. Actually, it's not that hard. If you really want to stop doing it in the long term, you absolutely need to stop doing all the other bad habits at the same time. It's necessary to make drastic change on your life : no social media, no video games, no junk food ; the less instant gratification activity possible. By this way, I completely stop it and it has been 3 months by now since the last time I have done it.

I am proud of you young fella ! Doing all you do with your age is setting you up for a way higher probability of being happy in your life! Not only doing all you said, but just the realization, acknowledging things and trying to do , working on it and of coruse having success, but doesn't mean you can't fail, failure is a teacher as well, don't beat yourself up if you fail, try to learn from it and take the positive. Very important mindset as well. It is a process, new challenges will always come. But building the mindset already in your age is a great foundation! Avoiding, resisting when it is sometimes not so easy with all the easy triggers for many things that your body might want in the moment but is bad for you especially over the long run is really one of the keys for a great, good feeling mind and body! Stay strong in your mind, grow wise ! Just some words from a 33 year old friend, I am thinking about this stuff since I was in your age as well!

@@mariomariu4394 Thanks for these wise words! You are completely right, the acknowledgement of what determine us in your daily life completely change the way we perceive the world, that's crazy, after that, as you said, it's way more easier to do the changes we have to do and build a solid foundation, even if we can fail sometimes, it's life, we have to stay faithful in the path of our journey!

Hey man, I have struggled with porn for just over a decade. I am about to be 23 years old. I haven’t watched porn in 5 months since I met the the love of my life and we agreed we cannot get married or even engaged if I’m still addicted. It’s still a struggle and I get temptations more often then I care to admit. Anyways, I stumbled across the first porn video a few weeks ago when I felt very singled out since my girlfriend had been in a class that was talking about the dangers of pornography and she heard some nasty stuff (which granted, is definitely true) and was scared and speaking to me as if I had just fallen to porn the day before. I felt guilty and very alone in my struggle till I saw a KZbinr who posts about fitness and lifting science, whom I was very fond of, post a video laying out his struggles for the world to see. Your bravery gave me strength to keep kicking and be the man my Audrey deserves. Thanks for the motivation and strength man. Your humility and love is genuinely inspiring and makes me want to be a better man.... and get off my fat ass so I can start looking like a beast! (My gf’s dad is actively a body builder so I bug shoes to fill lol). God Bless brother, we got this! ❤

Hey man, when I was 23 I became a Christian and really felt convicted over my struggles with porn and decided to confess it to my wife. She didn’t take it well as she was still immature in her faith as well so it opened up a lot of arguments at first. But opening up the door to this kind of communication brought us so much closer together. Much respect man. Keep fighting the good fight.

Man i really appreciate this type of content, i'm currently 16 and i have been doing no fap for 10 months. Everytime i did it i felt extreme guilt and sadness for myself and i started to view humans as literal sex objects and it didn't help that i was exposed to it at the age of 12 and at one point was doing it up to 3 times a day. Working out has became a huge factor into getting rid of my endless need of masturbation and i discovered your channel a few weeks back through a short and have been watching all of your vids you are an extreme inspiration and role model for young men to get behind being able to become open with our problems and find a solution. I am glad i was not the only one dealing with this uncomfortable truth many of us face.

In those 12. Almost 13 years of porn consumption. I have only taken a week of rest from masturbation. The last few years I got up to doing it six times a day. And was still doing it six times a day just recently. I knew it was time to cut it out completely. When it just recently started affecting the time I spend with Family, and Friends. Porn uses the same centers of the brain if you were to use drugs or alcohol. It really makes me mad. That porn addiction isn’t as big of topic as drug addiction or alcohol addiction. At the end of the day if it destroys your life. And ruins relationships with the people you love and care about. It’s an addiction.

It's a complex issue.. I mean, on one side, there is nothing wrong with enjoying masturbation and fantasizing/etc. The danger to me seems to be lie in the very stereotypical nature of most pornography and that indulging excessively in this fake can hurt relationships/interactions with real actual people by changing the way we react to people-not as they are, but as this fiction that has been reinforced over intense participation. I totally respect Dylan and his friends for discussing this openly and honestly, this is what we need to keep the indulgence in the healthy side of the spectrum. The fact that obsessive masturbation/porn use coincides with isolation and hiding is where the danger lies. But having friends (especially other male friends for men) to share feelings about this is a good way to counterract the worst effects. The whole concept of "toxic masculinity" where men can't talk about their feelings to other men, without risking some gay association is hurting men in so many ways. With real friends that you can be open with about your insecurities, you not only get support, but you also begin to take power away from the isolationist behaviour AND you can begin to see the interaction between men and women with more nuance (and not in an Andrew Tate way, which seems to be acting like real life is like bad porn scenarios, esp those that display a stereotyped imbalance of power).

I struggled with it for years. The key for me was two fold. One, I didn’t want to offend God, because I love Him and I see why it’s obviously an evil thing. The other is filling the void with other activities. I didn’t even let myself go to bed unless I was exhausted. Not encouraging a sleep disorder or anything, but I just kept busy reading, playing video games, working on my business, and taking my mind off it. I poured all my energy into improving myself too and finding a good wife, then I poured all my energy into making sure she was happy and we could have sex almost daily, as that is a productive aim for arousal. Quitting it helped me grow wealthy, get a great marriage, and exert control over myself in other areas when I’ve always been a low impulse control kind of guy.
