There are so many wonderful keto vegan foods out there deserve more of our attention. I'm sharing with you 3 foods that I have "neglected" but are now firmly back on my favourite list. What foods on your list that have made a comeback?

It's much better if you make your own sauerkraut. Commercial sauerkraut is often pasteurised, because of food hygiene commercial requirements, and much of the beneficial probiotic advantages are cooked out. Also there are some commercial sauerkrauts that have additives and preservatives which have the same detrimental effect. If you cook sauerkraut or heat it up, you also destroy all the probiotics. (I know you eat yours raw, I am just adding that as a reason for not cooking it....) I make my own and I also always eat it cold. It's far, far better than anything I have ever bought, too.

Thanks so much for sharing Alexander, I’ve made kimchi but haven’t tried sauerkraut. Would love to try!

@@HeavenlyFan I don't mean to tread on your toes but there are some amazing youtube videos with some great info. One I particularly like is this one. He's such a nice laid-back guy... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaW7aqiHnpyrm68 works great every time. I add juniper berries to my sauerkraut and also a few caraway seeds. You can add chillies and shredded carrot too... I weigh my sauerkraut down with one piece of whole outer leaf, topped with very clean glass marbles, held down by the pressure of the lid. If I need to top up the fluid, I add a 2% saline solution (spring water or cooled boiled water). This link is also very useful. nwedible.com/how-much-salt-fermentation/ Hope this helps!

Do you sweeten your chili sauce?
@HeavenlyFan5 жыл бұрын
You could add some sweetener if you like (I sometimes do), but there's natural sweetness coming from tomatoes which I find sweet enough most of the time.

I am so glad I found this channel. I did 40 days of keto a few months ago (vegitarian) and it was honestly the first time I felt like I had steady energy, mental clarity and wasnt ravenously hungry several times a day. I love how you said in a previous video that it's about how your body responds hormonally to food. I don't think keto is for everyone but it definitely works for me. I've struggled with focus depression and weight fluctuations my whole life and being in ketosis made me feel like a new person. I'm going to start up again next week. Last time I was consuming far too much dairy for my liking so I'm grateful for your videos and the variety of vegan keto recipes you are providing. It's really sparked some inspiration for me to go keto again. Thank you! Blessings from a new subscriber!

I love that you focus on the food. So many keto proponents spend too much time on the persuasive science stuff and not enough on the demonstrative stuff... the FOOD! That's the kind of support we really need. Thank you.

Glad I found your channel, your videos are wonderful.... watch out Nigella there's a healthier version of you right here : ) I have only been on Keto for about a month but am feeling more energetic and beginning to get into some of my favourite clothes that somehow seemed to shrink in my closet. Just wanted to share one of my favourite ways to break my intermittent fast. I whole avocado diced, 1/2 cup sauerkraut and a small square of Feta Cheese crumbled over top with a pinch of Sea salt. If you like sauerkraut you might just love this variation as much as me. Keep them coming ... I am a fan.

We dont have tempeh in a jar in Indonesia. The best tempeh is the one wrapped in banana leaves and it has soft white mold on the outside. Try adding shallot into ur chilli sauce too, that's the simplest one we do here.. chilli, tomato, shallot. 😊 I'm glad u finally like tempeh 😊😊😊

This looks so delicious. I love chili peppers and want them to be quite hot. With this recipe to depend on, I will no longer run to my International Market for chili sauce. My pepper plants from last summer came through the winter beautifully...so, I will only need to purchase two things for your recipe.

Love your videos, TFS. Have you ever eaten tempeh and found it was bitter? It's happened to me once or twice and was advised to steam it first before cooking it the way you want. Takes the bitterness away. I've liked tempeh ever since that tip.
@HeavenlyFan5 жыл бұрын
I never find it bitter, but it could be just my taste buds. Or could it be the make? I got it from a brand called Impulse and their tempeh taste really good to me. Make sure you find ones only contain soybeans and nothing else.

Sauerkraut and Kimchi is a staple in my fridge. I love it so much. I just started trying chia pudding again and I like it now. I hated it when I was just plain vegan but love it keto vegan 🤷🏾♀️. However, I can not stand the texture of tempeh. 🤢

1. The Tempeh recipe is fantastic. 2. is it true that flaxseeds have a bad effect on testosterone in men?
@HeavenlyFan4 жыл бұрын
Hi Roy, I'm not aware of the ill effect of the flaxseeds. I believe a moderate intake of any food for a healthy person is unlikely to cause any health problem. If you watch my channel you'd know that I have pretty relaxed view on these things :) We're all made differently, so listen to your body, it tells you what you need to know.

When you consume minimal carbohydrates your body switches to burning fat as its primary energy source. This means the fat consumed is not stored. Fat only becomes a problem when one consumes many carbs and sugars. As the body will burn the carbs as fuel and store the fat for "later". If we continue to eat carbs, later never comes.
