I totally get the burn out feeling with the temperature blanket. I started learning to crochet (note: LEARNING - I had never picked up a crochet hook before!) in late March and almost immediately jumped into doing a temperature blanket (started it about a week and a half/two weeks), which meant I was starting the temperature blanket 3.5 months behind. But because I was still having trouble keeping tension consistent and edges straight, I decided to do a granny square blanket (this was also great because I could do high/average/low temperatures for the granny square. I love it, don’t get me wrong - I love the colors I chose, I love zoning out doing it. But doing granny square after granny square after granny square to catch up, then putting it down and working on a Mother’s Day blanket for my mom, I’ve found it’s been hard to pick it back up. I caught up to all the days in late April/early May, but what I hate doing is spending all the time joining and weaving. Because I’m so far behind and because I don’t weave in ends when I finish a square (as a way to get through the days faster), it takes two days to weave in ends for all 18 squares in a row. Then it takes another two or three days to join all 18 squares in a row to each other. Then it takes ANOTHER two or three days to join that row to the main blanket. And by that point, I’m just done with the temperature blanket. I’ve realized I have to have at least one other project to focus on for those times when I just don’t want to work on the temperature blanket. But admittedly, once I caught up to the days, I haven’t touched it since. And now I’m about 20 days behind and have at least 70 days that need to have ends weaved in and be joined to the main blanket. I’ll get it done but, man, is it a challenge right now. In the future, I think I’ll just do the average and not worry about having to join everything. That was incredibly long but I needed to vent my temperature blanket frustrations. 😅

Hi Holly, My suggestion is to crochet a row on the side in black and then everytime you get to the end of a month change the colour to white for the next month. So on the side there is a dashed black and white line! Think it would look super cool. ❤ Your vids btw!
@reginamuth57942 жыл бұрын
You could still do tassels! What if you just used a different color of tassel on the separations?
@jaimejohnesee2 жыл бұрын
You could do tassles of one color for normal and then a different color for the end of the month marker. It's so neat to see, as someone who doesn't have the ability to knit (last time I tried they blamed the result on Mrs. O'Leary's cow). It's so pretty, you did a great job picking colors! 💙

A couple options to mark the month change: Make a solid colored border (black, brown?), but do a single color-change stitch on the 1st of the month line (white or yellow - something light to stand out against the dark border). You could also do a border of lots of tassels in the same fashion (this option is VERY time consuming) with a different color tassel for the beginning of each month.
@Cyn2592 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of a different color for the first of each month in a border. I also thought of doing a border of double crochets, and on the first day of the month put a popcorn stitch.
