I’ve been wanting to make a temperature blanket for awhile and after seeing the videos from the start of yours I made the plunge to start mine. My grandpa liked to record the weather everyday and did it for about 20 years. I was able to look back at his notebooks and am currently making my blanket from his records for the first year of my life! ❤️

Thank you for sharing. I have decided to do a historical temperature blanket. My husband and I were married in 1997 and we are coming up on our 25th wedding anniversary in May. We live in Maine so we are fortunate enough to have all 4 seasons-HOWEVER with that being said, I have decided to use the colors of our wedding and the week of our honeymoon, use the highest temp from that destination. I am very excited to see how it turns out. I am working on January right now!! Loving it so far! Happy crocheting 🧶

I'm making one of these with my daughter this year. My color palette is going to be gray's, black, and several shades of yellow. I found a quilt in these colors and fell in love with it so this will go into that bedroom to go with the quilt. It's been great following your progress. The blanket is BEAUTIFUL! Happy New Year.

I started mine on the 1st. I went with the high temp just to get more colors 😂 I bought a notebook to write down the temperature for every day in case I’m busy, so that if I don’t have the time to crochet the row I at least don’t mess myself up. I’m in Indiana so right now it’s all in blue, green, and aqua. ❤️ thanks for the inspiration. Love how your blanket turned out.
@silvershadow0133 жыл бұрын
One way to make smaller (and less expensive) one is to do granny squares. Each square would have 7 rows representing one week. This way you end up with 52 squares. Its also a little quicker because you're not doing long rows. So you can even do it weekly and it doesn't take a long time. Of course you have to join the squares but for me if I got behind I didn't feel the pressure of having to do so much to catch up.

I sat down today and planned my temperature categories, made a little chart with tabs ready to attach my sample colours. Worked up a couple of test squares with a few different hook sizes to figure out which would give me a nice drape. I’ve never undertaken a project of this size and I’m really looking forward to the challenge! And trying to hold myself accountable for it too 🥰

Thanks for the tips. It's important to pick colours that you really like for the most common temperatures. I am planning to make a historical temperature scarf. If it's historical I will know exactly what temperatures there were, and what temperature range. That makes it easier to select a colour scale.
