Great video as always thank you! My personal favorite has always been the Doors album cover, Strange Days. the circus performers in the forefront with a tiny poster of the doors off to the side, perfectly fit the band.

The most iconic cover of my lifetime is “Whipped Cream and Other Delights” which a decade later would have sold another million as a wall poster. Two covers I always loved are Sinatra’s “In the Wee Small Hours” and Warren Zevon’s “Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School”. I guess I like sullen loners deep in thought and regret.

I like Chrsitine Frka emerging from an empty pool on Zappa's Hot Rats. Trees only album was a bit likee this as well. I quite liked the 1980s Maiden records like Somewhere In Time, which was almost like a Richard Scarry picture, in that it was packed with details and references you could keep going back to and look at while listening to the record, finding new things. One that I remember from my parent's collection was the Box Tops - Non Stop where they are on a locomotive. I absolutely loved the cover as a small child, they just looked so cool, and when I was old enough to be allowed to play LPs on my own, I played it, but it never really lived up to my expectiations from the cover! Until then, I'd been allowed to play whatever I wanted from their large 8 track colllection and was only allowd to put on records when I was about 8 or so.

Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols - a simple, stunning statement of intent. Aladdin Sane - Bowie and that lightning bolt. It was like a Rock'n'Roll album made by an extraterrestrial to this young music fan in the 70s. Damned, Damned, Damned - That poor cake. Earth Vs The Wildhearts - Ginger Wildheart lying in an oil bath, face adorned with barbed wire and gaffer tape, aided and abetted by a scorpion and what looks like a cockroach. Bonkers! Breakfast In America - Crockery Manhatten and a waitress homage to the Statue of Liberty. War of the Worlds - Jeff Wayne's tribute to H.G. Wells' Sci-Fi classic. Many hours were spent gazing over the cover and booklet whilst listening to this classic. Metal Box, Public Image Ltd-Three 12" 'albums' are packed as tightly as possible in a faux film roll canister with the PIL logo embossed. The packaging is harsh but functional. The album is challenging on first listen but infinitely better when you set the turntable speed to 45 rpm (I can't have been the only one).

Asia's 1st album. A sea serpent and a green orb (Loc-Nar perhaps). An album from a supergroup named after a continent from where none of the members came. A progressive radio friendly album which was the #1 selling album among all genres in 1982. All of this combined makes no sense, which is one of the reasons I love the album sleeve. Another reason is just because it's pretty cool in my opinion.

Dylan's mid-sixties trilogy of masterpieces Bring it all Back Home, Highway 61Revisited and Blonde on Blonde all have wonderful portraits on the covers. Conversely, Shot of Love from the eighties is jaw-droopingly bad.

I’d never thought of Heaven and Hell as being that iconic, but you’re correct here. Not to mention the remarkable music inside. My favorite is still Pink Floyd’s “Animals”, though it’s far from my favorite Floyd album

Good choices. I like Elvis Costello and the Attractions - This Year's Model, with the printers' colour bar along the right side. I also like the cover of Armed Forces, with the herd of elephants. Both were designed by Barney Bubbles.

This seems to be more like iconic covers instead of great covers. Queen’s News Of The World is a great one. I appreciate the inclusion of the Elvis cover.

I don't always agree with you but love your channel all the same. I've have always been more into progressive rock, so one of my favorite album covers is Mike Oldfield, Platinum. Although many of his album covers are stunning. And not sure Nirvana album is a true classic yet. Needs to age a bit longer. LoL

I like the artwork on the first four Yello albums, especially Stella and Claro Que Si. Scott walker's Tilt is intriguing, it's not clear to me what is going on in that image. I'm not sure what I'm looking at on the Scott Walker/Sunn O))) Soused cover, but I like the texture, lights and shadows on whatever it is. The Residents' Eskimo with the gentlemen eyes posing for the cover, then the variant cover for The Gingerbread Man where the gentlemen are standing behind a little girl holding a gingerbread man version of them. Looks like the cover of a interesting old horror movie. Since you gave Bowie some flak in the ugly category I have to say I can't stop staring at his cover for "hours", the toned down melancholy music on that album is not what I consider a match for such a late 90s utopian futuristic style. 52 years old Bowie holding the 50 years old corpse of himself is a stark contrast to the fashion and colour palette on that image. I haven't been able to wrap my head around Roger Water's Dark Side of the Moon Redux, but I appreciate the dog having the DSOTM cover reflecting in his/her eye. I really like Pink Floyd's Ummagumma and Animals (both the original and the 2018 version) cover art works. I'm past ten, but here are two more, Richard Wright's Broken China, and the pink and silver cover for the album Identity he did with Dave Harris. We have very different taste in cover art.
