One of the ways I add beauty in my home is pretty string lights. I hang them over the kitchen sink or in a window. I love to bring the outdoors in with the colors I chose, and the artwork I have. Flowers and candles are also something I add into my life. There's nothing like candle light to add romance to a room.

I’ll be 70 this year and I play music at home and at my business; I put on eye shadow and lipstick everyday even if I’m just at home; I wear a dress often. I wear jewellery too, especially handmade statement pieces. If I feel good about myself despite my age or figure, it makes the day brighter and I’m probably easier to live with! My husband still thinks I’m beautiful, which helps xo (I also pick a few flowering herbs from the garden and put them in a vintage silver jug for the bathroom, as well as drying rose petals and putting them in a pretty china bowl - natural air fresheners.)

We take most of our family meals at a heavy antique table situated in our large farmhouse kitchen. That old table is center-stage for introducing order, beauty, manners and reverence into our daily lives. I learned to make healthy, appetising meals with efficiency. Like my mother before me, I set the table for a simple, timeless elegance using linens (including cloth napkins) carefully selected china and crystal, real silverware (which stays shiny when properly used and stored), family keepsakes, flowers (in season) and scentless candles - all of which change according to events and seasons. I do not use plastic, paper napkins, commercial containers, or anything that detracts from the overall harmony. I never used that plastic toy junk on birthday cakes, but learned more creating ways of decorating. Even from a very young age, our grandchildren were completely in awe of our meals.

Loved this, Angela. I use vintage linens wherever I can, including long hand embroidered dresser scarves over elongated windows in my breakfast room. I use old flower frogs to display my vintage post cards. I spray a sentimental fragrance into my closet.

I have always loved the visual of clothes waiting to be folded in a gorgeous oversized basket. It just screams home to me. At 73 and living alone... lipstick and earrings are a morning ritual even before coffee! Flowers and books are staples of life to me. Before I retired ,I would go to my thrift shop and buy 5 hard cover books a week . I did this for about a year, so my library is pretty good! There is nothing like a good book with an inviting cover waiting for you at the end of the day.

Being a mother who chooses joy is my way of bringing beauty into my day. I spent far too long in the martyr mother category. A mother who enjoys her children and the job of raising them, is ultimately more beautiful.❤

I am lucky enough to have inherited two beautiful antique dinner services. One is a hundred year old Noritake set, the other is Blue Danube. I use the Blue Danube every day and add lit candles flowers and linen to my table setting, even when I am alone. It always fills me with joy and gratitude. Over forty years ago my father gifted me with a silver Waterman french fountain pen which I use in a beautiful leather refillable journal I've had for years. I have several other inherited items I use in my daily life which add such beauty to my days. I have more in boxes which I intend to take out and use. As a lover of the esthetic of bygone eras they bring richness and calm to my days. Walks in nature, good books, music, delicious home cooked food and the company of dear friends round out the joys in life ❤

You can never have too much beauty in your life and you certainly have ways that are unique and unexpected. Ways that are most memorable and appreciated by all ages. Femininity never gets out of style or gets old,l love all records sung by crooners of the forties through the sixties. I love scented candles, pearl and cameo jewelry, old postcards greeting cards and diaries , rom coms, perfumed soap , antique silverware rings , candles lit in the evening and cardigan sweaters and try to sprinkle some of these in my ordinary days.

I embrace my unique style and allow it to be my guide. I don't scroll Instagram, I don't follow decorators, I don't stroll target and home goods. I do frequent thrift stores and antique shops, and I yard sale when I can. I do enjoy KZbin channels, and I do take inspiration from various of you... For example , your copperware inspired me to put my own on display, and your cabinet for dishes actually sparked a memory of my own grandmother's cabinet like that, where the dishes were stacked and nestled and layered.... I plan to do that in our new kitchen. I feel, for me, that having a lot of influence makes me feel pressured to alter my vision. I try to be mindful of what I am watching, who I am listening to and where I am seeking influence. Following gives us a sense of urgency and we tend to overspend and buy things that we have to make work or we can't find the perfect place for them. Where being inspired by a color or texture or theme allows us to be very intentional in our findings. We wind up with pieces that seamlessly fall into place. For me, that is every day beauty. I wear dresses always now... Inspired by Nikki channel inspired me, but I make all of mine and I wear 1890 to 1918 styles. I wear my hair in a Gibson girl or a double Gibson tuck. I decorate with candles and fake flowers, I collect crochet doilies, I like little woodland critters tucked here and there with vintage linen bound books and such. I bought a new Mary Poppins carpet bag for travel and ditched the clunky suitcase. I invested in a few vintage quilts that are butter soft cotton and faded but absolutely a delight to the eyes and a pleasure to nestle under. I set up our porch for afternoon tea at the wrought iron table and chairs and cuddles or a nap on the wicker loveseat, a lovely swing with pillows and a hand made afghan, and a little marble top table and chair to sit at to draw or chat or read. There's a bird feeder beside the porch, and flowers in the flower bed. It's a peaceful place to rest. Washing dishes in candle light, taking a shower or bath in candle light, dinner with candles and vintage china and cloth napkins on vintage Italian table cloths.

Nightgowns. Big, billowy, long nightgowns! I favor high quality white cotton, and heavy flannel. I also prioritize high-quality bath accoutrement like soaps, salts, and bubbles. Also, I ditch the plastic as well, and any commercial packaging in favor of mason jars, bowls, platters, and crocks. Thanks Angela! Big hugs!!❤

My way of adding beauty to my life is watching your vlogs. The world is just crazy now with so many people afraid and worried. Me too at times, especially for my kids and grandkids. What have we come to in this country and world? But, I keep my sanity in part by watching you, starting to make journals for Christmas gifts and gardening. I love it all. 🐮🐷🐑🐎🐓🐔🌻🪴🌷

Thanks for the ideas, Angela! One of my favorite ways to add beauty to the everyday experience is through cooking and baking. I love trying new recipes and making fresh, quality food for my family to enjoy. I’m also big into using fresh herbs and beautiful serving dishes to quickly dress up the meal - a few minutes of this goes a long ways towards making the meal an experience.

I change up the rooms by moving around and temporarily storing things. I found some a purple glass vase, another art glass piece with purple and green in it and looked around in all of my things and had a great afternoon making the huge mantle something we could enjoy until spring. Every time I do a deep clean, I inject something beautiful at the end as a reward.

Absolutely right! I'm not sure when it started, but women gave up on their femininity and being well dressed but we all start looking like guys on their worst days😂 Putting on a dress once in a while, a little make up, a couple pieces of jewelry and definitely flowers, does make us look and feel so much better! Have a wonderful day!

Lighting, especially in the evening is a way that I add beauty, Soft, warm lights from beautiful lamps create the ambience I want. I also add beauty by actually taking away, lol! I tend to have too much clutter. As soon as I pare back, things look so much nicer. And yes, fresh flowers and greens are always a must.

I'd add one thing to your well considered list. Perfume. My oldest sister told me when I became a new mother and full time homemaker after I had quit my outside career, "make sure you wear perfume and a little make up each day!". I've never neglected that and I know my husband appreciates it! Oh and one more! My Mum always stressed the importance of beautiful sheets and sleepwear - "nighties and dressing gowns" as we called them❤️

Thank you... so much for sharing the romantic table scape thoughts. I so needed this! I am a just a little bit walking thru life alone. I was living my wonderful life as a wife and mother , homemaker.. Interior designer... Sunday school teacher, room mother, Boy and girl scout leader... ONE day ! POOF everything was gone... Children grown and gone, economy crashed..my love of my work..gone. Husband, well,... dementia and Alzheimer's, he is gone, after 20 years of care ..he is the lucky one that death took him... we are the ones that are left behind. I was left behind and did not embrace myself ..at dinner for one , I did not use MY china..(I have been eating out of plastic storage containers) the beautiful crystal..my Mother's silverware. I did not validate, until you shared this piece, I need to honor myself and use these treasures if only for one! Thank you!! 💕

Y'all should look up Fable England!! Their products are more affordable than other places, and my goodness, they're charming & whimsical...I love them!!

Lovely video. You look beautiful as usual Angela. The red and white dress looks amazing on you. 😊 We are renting so what I do in the home here is limited and not as decorated as I'd like it to be but this time of year I try to spend time in the garden tidying after the winter weather and doing various pruning jobs, starting to plant anything that can be so that I have seasonal flowers to bring into the house. I love to add details to each room in the house with matching items of suitable themes for each room. Our bathroom for example is typically nautical with shells, a candle, plants, a beautiful picture of boats in the harbour. I love to use essential oils to fragrance the rooms, decorate the fireplace seasonally. I have fairy lights in the living room around the fireplace, I put up pictures, like you I use baskets for storage etc. One day we will have our own home and be able to decorate and cha ge things just as we'd want them.

One of the ways I add beauty to my every day is I take care of me now that I’m a empty nester, I drink a green drink I make myself and drink first am and last after dinner. I do yoga and then I love working around the house and I am also a posh ambassador II / because I too want to reuse recycle clothing from the land fills. I love wearing dresses I feel soooooo very pretty in my dresses. The only problem is I live in the mountains it’s got 10 feet of snow now so I’m dumped to snow pants …… I love music…. I sing and listen to it every day. My mom always told me if you are having a day just take a minute stop put on music and dance 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻oh and my skin care routine has been very specific since I was 22 years old. I love stationary and always send thank you notes I love it

I absolutely love pretty dishes. I have six sets of dishes -- incomplete sets except for my fine china -- and we change patterns depending on what we are eating. Mexican food calls for mismatched Fiesta Ware. Delicate looking foods require Villeroy & Boch Manoir. Italian food gets plated on Villeroy & Boch Basket. And so on. My justification is that we rarely eat out and I would be bored using the same plates and flatware every single day.
