Holy shit, I can't believe I haven't heard of this guy before. I saw him live last night in Malta as a support for Dream Theater. Luke and Jason killed it, when they started playing I couldn't believe what I'm seeing. I've been to a thousand shows and never once support band left that kind of impression. I bought the album and I'm listening to it non stop. This is insane 👍

If I practiced for 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, I MIGHT match his licks in about 500 years time. That performance left me stunned...in awe.....enlightened. That was so brutal and melodic. Jason must make other guitar gods feel like they are tone-deaf hacks. The best shredding I have seen in a LONG time. The people who disliked this video are obviously seething with jealousy from those insane runs.

Luke is just playing the composition from Jason. Jason write also drums, and he have an amazing imagination. Luke´s composition are not too great in my personal opinion, but to covering drums and songs is awesome, that´s why I think that Jason pick him up to cover and humanizy their songs. Also Luke have an excellent accuracy, and that helps too much on stage.

Jason a really good guy with good humor and loves music, also Jason, Luke phenomenal human being and one hell of a drummer. And am I the only one who has thought of who could be a perfect vocalist for them but realizes you can't even think of a vocalist who could match with their style

Jason LovesABR prolly a year or two at least... we’re lucky to get this song to be honest.. as his well is probably damn near dried up.. he’ll need to sit, and think, and live and love to come up with more material for a little while... such is, the life of an artist... right?

@@M4ttHatt3r Sorry if I sounded condescending. I used to find playing like that very impressive until I started to be able to do similar things (still nowhere near Jason's level, of course), so I wasn't aware of the mental aspects of it, and I guess I wrongly assumed you didn't know the same stuff I didn't know at the time.

Not bashing, just opinion... Top 5 for sure. Technical skills and speed are 1 but I’d bet you won’t ever remember one of his tunes 20 years later, even though his talent and speed are godlike. To me that element needs to be there to be a truly GREAT musician.

Jason Richardson is this generation's John Petrucci. I had this thought a long time ago and with everything he does. He only supports that theory more and more. At this point, I don't think anyone could out-do him on guitar. Not even John himself....
@coloradomtnrider6311

Not to knock Jason, but saying he is better than Petrucci is ridiculous. Jason has one style, which he does very well, but he doesn't have the versatility of JP. Saying one guitarist is better than the other is silly to begin with since 'guitar' encompasses hundreds of different things.

Colorado MtnRider Two words: Hos Down, he had a country and jazz solo in that one song alone. And he's very versatile. He proves that with his solo album. Jason has very focused interests but he can master whatever he wants. He's definitely got John beat on technical skills at least.
