From what i remember, Tim Henson of Polyphia did a similar thing where he wrote chords and melody separately on a synth/keyboard then managed to play the whole thing on a guitar, pretty cool way of writing things you wouldnt normally think of

My man tim said in an interview that one of his choruses was a section from a song from ariana grande played backwards. The thing is tim uses keyboards to compose but to be honest they play 8 strings so there are a lot of possibilities and options.

@@NathanielBTM I'm 100% positive what your hearing in the fast version is the momentum of the string due to speed, which makes it sound different than if its played slower and sped up. Meaning, faster is how he intended it to sound, he even speaks about this in the video. Jason hit every note on this riff. Do yourself a favor and slow down the fast one. ;)

@@VaLULrant i did, He misses a note on the very last run of the riff. By no means am i disregarding his skill. He's extremely talented and what ge plays is amazing. But humans can only do so much. I'm simply saying that the second version sped up is how it would sound if you could play it perfectly... Like a robot. Think of it like a tool assisted speedrun, or a cut up speedrun on a game of the fastest speeds of each section all bunched together, it'd be basically impossible to achieve in one single speed run by a human ever, but theoretically it's possible... It will still though... Never be achieved by anyone

I write things that are way too difficult for me to play, making me learn and practice. Gives you your sound I think, your own personal progression and playing style is what makes you a musician. Not a wannabe that sounds like someone else. Jason has it all.

I had heard of "Born of Osiris" because of the "Nik Nocturnal" channel; he's a young kid that plays very well and is into all the Djent stuff but I've begun to realise that I'm an old man now! Lmao! @Aaron Wells Yeah, I'm certainly gonna check him out. I rarely listen to modern metal at all, in the post-early 2000's sense, excepting some black/death. Hence why I sub young guys like Nik Nocturnal. I have many playlists on my channel of bands I do like but I never dug Meshuggah or the genre(s) they are credited with influencing and spawning; basically the Djent stuff. I guess you could say I'm stuck in the past but thanks for the tips. Richardson is clearly worth the attention of any player and I will certainly be having a deeper look at him.

Jason did something similar for a solo he died on a tune by Purge of Lilith. I think Jason ran a few arpeggios into a synth's arpeggiator and then learned the output, which sounds like a broken computer and is quite difficult.
