TenHun you can lay down clear medium with fabric medium down first to smooth out your surface and make it so your paint doesn’t get sucked into the fabric so much. Make sure it’s not a fluid medium. Just like you used the heavy paint - use a regular paint medium. Hope that helps with your painting!

Nice tip
@cfrnserrano214 жыл бұрын
So you can use a clear medium with gac 900 as a bottom layer then you can paint your production over, by using the clear medium dies that fill in spots so the paint won't absorb and you have cracks. Question why when i use heavy body acrylic and gac 900 i get a matte finish, should i use a medium to give it a lil gloss.

I love to see more artists just putting art on anything they find. I've been doing glasses, canvas bags, shoes, vcrs....etc...but I love all the tips you put out there...I definitely will be checking out that fabric medium
@onerulecreate4 жыл бұрын
Hello Ten Hun, I've done a jacket with acrylic and textile medium, what I have noticed is that you have to add at least too layers in the background so your paints do not get absorbed and you can paint easier on it, the positioning is perfect as the art will be a bit stiff thus is better to have a oversized jacket and heat set with a ironing machine by putting baking paper on top of it and iron the back, your one looks awesome. Best of luck!

Hey Ten! I’m not sure if it would be a topic you would be interested in covering in a video, but I’m wondering if you could talk about how to price your work? Especially for newer artists or people who are just starting to sell their custom pieces (particularly custom clothes), how do you figure out how to price them? And how to avoid underselling your work? Thanks!

Loved this design. I paint my own jackets too. You can get some really high quality fabric acrylics but its always good to thin them out with GAC 900 rather than water. Building the paint up in this layers mean your artwork last longer. 🤓

Yooo, thank you so much for posting this video (and your other one about GAC 900). I'm new to painting, let alone on fabric. I usually paint lips on fabric, and remix it from there, and I've had so much trouble trusting some fabric paints because I have a particular paint I'm used to working with. I heard of GAC900 through you and I can't wait to use it and share this shit with you guys, so many thanks from Canada! HUGE congratulations to you and thank you for sharing/continuing to share your journey with us! Can't wait to see more from you!

A trick i use when painting a denim jacket is to use an ironing board, i place some parchment under the jacket then button it up at the back but it gives it a nice flat back to paint on. i have to stand up nut thats not all bad

Super cool! Love your work Ten! I use a watered down thin layer of clear gesso or white gesso. It won't suck up your paint so much. I find that it doesn't make my jackets so stiff either. Never tried the Gac900. I will have to look into that. Maybe it can make a difference for my jackets. Thanks for your entertainment and knowledge. Keep on creating!

That product came out dope, question can you add a clear coat to protect the art work? Also as you painting do you heat dry the jacket thru each application or do you just wait until you done and throw it in the dryer. Do you always use heavy body acrylics?

tip for anyone who doesn't wanna spend money on the medium. You can mix shaving foam with acrylic and that'll create some really nice fabric paint too; my friends and i used that to paint my violin case.

The main reason you have such difficulty with dedicated fabric paints is because the best quality fabric paints (E'tac Private Stock, Createx Wicked Detail colors, and Aqua Flow) are actually multi-surface paints that are designed specifically for airbrushing, not brush painting. The coverage of these paints, along with the brightness of color and soft hand feel, plus the durability through washing (when properly heat-set) are top notch. I especially like airbrushing leather jackets with these paints for their permanence.
