Most people don't know how to handle CD's in general. Even Blu-rays can scratch. And it's never because of the reader. It's usually someone touching the side that's read, and when it doesn't read, they wipe it off with something even slightly abrasive, and scratch the damn thing. Don't get me started on the people that haphazardly throw a disc back into its case, or slide them until the center hits the prongs. Always used to piss me off when I'd go out and rent movies. Hell, people were that bad with VHS tapes.

Politicians and philosophers seem to fight in wars, so it's not like there's that much distinction. Apparently it's small to appear more "civilized" and less animalistic, "think with their head and not their dick" that sort of thing. Plus, it's not like the context for nude statues always sexual. They'll use big genital in erotic context just fine, and while I'm not sure how common, but I do know that Priapos (god of vegetable garden) have a big one in the image I've seen. Something about garden fertility or something.
