We're going after 3* 180lb RBs while they have 5* 220lbs true NFL ready RBs! Man we have to recruit elite players with size and speed!! Kalifa Keith was our only true SEC sized RB at 230lbs, and we didn't even try to develop him and get him on the field. Their RBs were bigger than our LBs!! We benefitted from Bama and UF being down this year. We were lucky not to have played South Carolina. We have to re-evaluate what we consider a fit and if that fit is worthy of making a National Title! Changes need to be made! We got whipped by a true contender!

@@antonpatea7390 That is the argument made by most fans of the SEC. Let's not play games. When Bama wins, the rest of the teams tout the SEC. Y'all never stopped to think that ranking teams like Arkansas and Texas A&M early gives the conference a false sense of how great the conference is as a whole? These types of teams finish out of the top 25 ( Kentucky or Florida may be better examples than A&M) but the rankings at the time of their losses strengthen the SOS of the other teams, making it seem like they ran through a gauntlet. Names matter too. Beating Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida sounds better than beating Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan State.

OSU fan here, Heupel’s spread philosophy will work once the offensive line is there. Our 4 man rush got home a ton (especially beating the RTs). @andywilliams49423 күн бұрын
@lukewitchey6202 Our 2 Tackles are not that great. They are okay against lesser teams but not for elite football. Our WR have had a hard time getting separation all year. It doesn't help that our RB was injured. I think that our defense played good, not great, but OSUs offense played lights out.

@andywilliams4942 Sampson going down certainly allowed our safeties to sit back in coverage and react rather than worrying about coming downhill. You omitted to mention, in connection with the second quarter "comeback," that the Tennessee interception occurred on a blatant PI on Smith in the end zone that was not called, and after an absolutely terrible roughing the passer against OSU allowed Tennessee to go down and score at the end of the second quarter. The final score really didn't reflect the level of domination in the game. BTW, I happen to like the Vols, but as a Buckeye fan, I'm tired of hearing how great the SEC is--and yes, the SEC has a really good record against OSU, but all of OSU's losses against SEC teams came in bowl games played in the south, most of them right in the home teams' back yards. OSU is 4-0 against SEC teams in the Shoe. Makes a big difference.

When a team doesn't show up to that degree there is only one explanation - poor coaching. The players looked like they had never even played before. Ever. They absolutely looked like they didn't care, like they were incapable and like they hadn't been coached to care or to be capable. THAT WAS HORRIBLE. This year was a complete waste. Wasted talent, wasted opportunity, wasted time and a HUGE waste of momentum. 10 wins means squat when you lose to a horrible Arkansas team and you waste an entire season which should have, not could have; should have, been much better. This is a wasted year just like 2016, 2001 and 2000.

My biggest concern is huepels loyalty to his staff. Look at Kirby and Saban, they didn’t continually promote from within, they went and got the best coach available, and I have doubts that JH will do that. Long time Buckeye fan here. Vol fans are missing the point. You have a really good team. The Buckeyes are an all-time great team -- we all saw it. The miserable OSU coaching staff has done everything it can to put the brakes on this Ferrari, albeit they may have finally learned their lessons about letting loose and placing their crippled o-line in more winnable situations (You don't lose two All-Americans witbhout necessitating adjustments.) The Bucks will handily win the Natty and you will all say it's because Georgia, Bama and other contenders weren't very good. That same thing can be said every year. BTW, the most impressive play by either team was Nico's TD run, given OSU's strong red zone defense. The INT was made after obvious pass interference which otherwise would've likely been an OSU TD catch. Some a.dvice, son: Christians who believe the prosperity gospel nonsense deserve their fate.

So much for southern football. 42-17 …are you freakin’ serious. BTW, Chip Kelly said in his post-game he saw the weaknesses in the Tennessee O line on tape and knew they could get to the QB.

Our offensive play calling is so predictable and it doesn't do anything to get our guys open in space. Defensive play calling was bland and conservative! When Josh said he didn't add any new wrinkles to the offense or defense, I knew we were in trouble. We made it easy for them!
@jeffreyprice97903 күн бұрын
The offensive scheme is the problem. It's a gimmick that flat out doesn't work against good teams it relies on confusion and the opposing team making mistakes. The extra wide splits just limits the number of route combos which does lead to it being predictable. You need to hit the portal and get some better wrs a guy name squirrel isn't gonna cut it he's ahh. Also you need a better oc and huepel needs to pass the offense off to him and let him make major changes. This should be a wake up call to some of the delusional fans as well as the coaches just how far you are from taking that next step

Here's the problem. Tennessee talked so much trash, because they think they are bigger than what they are. They think that because they are in the SEC that their legacy, history, tradition is the same as Alabama. It's like being a step child in a rich family and saying that you're rich. Congrats on the loyal fan haul up to Columbus. That was impressive, and I mean that sincerely. That was the most visiting fans we've had in Columbus by any team, but it WAS NOT a take over! That being said, it was still the most Tennessee fans that have shown up at ANY away venue for a big game, but let's not act like this is some regular occurrence by them. The fact is that they were able to take advantage of some rare circumstances that never existed before. For starters, the pre-game ticket code was leaked, and they pounced on it. Good for them, Again, this isn't the norm. It's something they took advantage of once! Second, Ohio State was still reeling from that abortion of a performance against Michigan, and the disappointment of that game still overshadowed the post-season opponent. On the flip side, Tennessee hasn't been relevant in the post season since 1998, so this was a much bigger deal for them. Ohio State is always in the mix in the post season for a championship, so again, Tennessee needs to stop acting like they are bigger than they are. Yes, we know how to tailgate just as well as you. We weren't up for it at 5am! Our threshold for success is higher. I hope you enjoyed yourselves though and had a safe drive home. Next time don't show off and run your mouths. Oh hold on..... I think Ohio State just scored again.

We better drop the bag on play makers or we’ll be left behind next season. Everyone is improving their roosters and that’s only going to make it harder to win games. We might as well change offensive and defensive coordinators too.

Well Eric it's apparent we need better talent with the ability to adjust when things aren't going as planned. But I know that's easier said than done! So the recruiting needs to be top 5 and our game planning needs to improve! GBO 🍊

If you blitz more, that means you are most likely playing man coverage with OSU's wide receivers. The score nay have been worse.

The transfer and NIL effect. Teams lose and gain so many players year to year, and assistant coaches also. Holes show up each season., even when the same set of offensive and defensive schemes. >> Maybe the Vols just did not have the consistency and skill to change. Good coaching and no mistakes always wins. Every team this year has laid an egg except #1 Oregon. That might be our new normal.

Lmao Disappointing is an understatement at the least! Tennessee was not ready to play football! They embarrassed the state of Tennessee and the SEC!!! This was an unforgivable game and there needs to be some firing going on ! How could they get beat like that ? Well they were not prepared simple as that ! They look lost and they did not execute at all !! So sad I really hope this is not going to be a team that can’t win the big games !

Tennessee can't defend against the pass.Look at Georgia. They passed the ball on yall for 347 yards. Ohio State passed for 317 yards. South Carolina passed for 453 yards on yall in 2022. This is a on going problem for yall.Out of all the teams that beat yall. Only Missouri was close. Nico was running for his life. If he had more time to throw the ball, it may have been different. Tennessee still had a great season.

Let’s be honest ! Coaching was horrible ! The game I watched had defense back off and let the wide receivers get open. When we stuck with pressure we won the battle. Nico was the running game because we were slow on offense . Maybe the couches lost the team somewhere in the past 2 weeks ?

Our Players taking field shirtless in sub freezing temps was not “cool” it was asinine and just showed their arrogance and ignorance and our fans running their mouths leading up to the game calling OSU stadium “Neyland North, we were going to tear down the goal posts after big win and throw them in the river, pranking the local bars by playing Rocky Top etc., etc. The amount of hubris and disrespect showed toward such a quality opponent was embarrassing and probably gave the Buckeye’s more motivation to shut our flapping mouths. It was clear all the bravado was hollow B.S. 💩 and when it came time to play the game we were throttled and exposed as frauds, disgusting 🤮!

Heupel did a great job turning things around. It’s time to move on from talking about the turnaround. That was 4 years ago. It’s time to close the gap and expect more from the assistant coaches… in recruiting, in development, in self-scouting, in game planning. I no longer care to hear about what he inherited.
