So in Tennessee, considering moving to Nashville, if someone breaks into my home I do not need to retreat, and I can consider the invasion a reasonable fear of death and can respond with deadly force. If entering. However, in the few seconds of action firing upon the first intruder and chambering and firing on the second intruder who might be exiting, but not in retreat but for cover is it not reasonable for the defender to continue firing until the threat is either eliminated or completely retreated?

Michigan recognizes Stand Your Ground Laws and the right to protect yourself. I'm confident that would be given the benefit if I needed to act aggressively. I do not need to argue with anyone, nor does anyone need to challenge me. I've done my homework.

If a felon in Tn got put into a situation where their life was in danger are they then allowed to defend themselves with a firearm?
@lillones

You could make an argument that an extreme situation deemed it necessary. However, you'd be fighting an uphill battle as to how you got to the gun in the first place. Would not recommend

No. You can but you will get charged with reckless endangerment due to blind shooting to the outside.

If you use lethal force at all in any situation you bound to atleast serve until your first hearing. Because you best believe me ive seen it all regardless the witnesses or situations you were the user of lethal force so they have to obtain you. Regardless if you like to hear it your guilty until proven innocent.

Okay, I work with resin and I am wanting to start making resin self defense keychains. I know brass knuckles are illegal to carry but would the self defense keychains be? They’re in the shapes of cats and dogs and unicorns and two of your fingers would go into the eyes and then the ears/horn would be what you would hit with. Please help!! I don’t want to make and sell anything that’s illegal or have others walking around with self defense keychains that are illegal!

I wouldn’t think it would be a problem. People can make knives by the dozen every day so I would THINK that would be okay. It might be different in some counties or states with a large population though. If anything you could put a sticker on it that says “display only.” Candlemakers only need one little sticker for liability purposes. I hope you’ve been able to find something out by now!

One of the first things I look for when I go into a lawyers office or an attorney is diplomas from universities or sports awards from schools or universities, giving me assurance that you have went to school or played ball with the people that are trying to prosecute me… laws means nothing… it’s who they know and are friends with… take that into account when searching for a good attorney or lawyer …try to find out where they play golf at locally… all this matters! Most importantly: Who do they go hunting with? It’s all about connections!

I have a question. I had a guy walk by my house a few days ago that had a gun out at my barking dog. I also had my pistol. I told him to leave and he did but, if he would have went to shoot my dog that’s on my property and I shot him how much time would I have got. Also with him being in the road and my dog on my property, if he would have raised the gun to me I’m pretty sure I would have had the right to shoot him eventhough he wasn’t on my property he was on the road in front of me. What’s the answer.

Dogs are considered personal property and you cannot use deadly force to protect personal property in Tennessee. Now if the guy pointed the gun at you then that justifies deadly force. And it would not matter where he was standing.

What if a dog not on a leash charges at you? My neighbor lets his two bulldogs run around and when I take mine for a walk, his will sometimes come and run at me. I don’t want anything to happen to his dog but I’m not going to let anything happen to my dog either.

You can't say it's pretty cut and dried and then in the next breath say there are so many what-ifs and situations. That's a direct contradiction.

Dose the apply to melee weapons?
@rudder727
@rudder727 2 жыл бұрын
Melee weapons, like batons, can be considered deadly force. If I had a baton and struck you in the leg that is simple assault. If I tried to hit your head.. that is deadly assault.

I have an alcoholic bf (ex) who is scaring me.. need to know bc i worry he might kill me one day before i figure out where i am moving.
@privateuser4179
@privateuser4179 4 жыл бұрын
Are you moving any time soon? If not you can contact an emergency dv shelter and speak to somebody. Going to the police is an additional option but mainly to tell them about the threat and asking them not to contact him so as to not escalate a threat. Depending on who (officer) you get they may blow you off, it happens all the time. Do you own a gun?

@@privateuser4179 thank you for responding. I am trying to get out now. It is a hard situation. Hopefully i will figure out my living situation soon. The stress I am under right now is causing me to be physically unwell. I will look into some of these things. Since he bashed my head on a steel rod in the tub nothing else has happened yet. I removed guns from the house bc I don't trust him and a gun in the same house when he gets like he gets.. he's unreasonable. Not a safe thing to have..and i would never want to pull a gun i dont intend to use. I dont ever want things to get to that point ..definitely have to go asap. Just have to figure out how to live on my own fast.

@@TheCuriousAutumn I am so sorry to know this is happening, you are a brave and strong woman. I am a woman also, I have been through something similar years ago. I just have to say if you do or do not contact me, God wants you in a safe peaceful place, you and your boy. God has been trying to nudge you to get out, nobody deserves what has been happening to you and neither do you. Please pray about your next move, do not worry about stuff or items, your lives are what is important here. A new life is possible even after all this and you dont have to do everything at once, you are taking it step by step and it will all fall into place. God is assisting you in your moving proccess. Remember he, your ex, can be triggered by any outside source besides yourself at any point. Waiting a day or an hour longer than when Gods still soft voice tells you to "Go Now" can cost you both, so obey God not man. Guns are for your protection too, so you know where they are if you feel a threat impeding and you must know you have a God given right to protect yourself if somebody is trying to hurt you or your boy. But the point is as much as you have suffered ask for the strength and direction to get out and God will see you through. Psalm 23: "Yea although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for You are with me Your rod and staff they comfort me". God will never leave you or foresake you, do not lose hope, you can do this! You can and will get through this, you know when the moment is to move quickly, God is with you, lady. You can do Alll things! Through His Power and Spirit that lives within You Right Now! If you have been quiet and away from God you can come in your honesty and. Ask Him back into your heart now too. Nothing is ever too late nothing is impossible through HIM. God bless you and you got this! 225joel225@gmail.com

I know this comment is a month old, but I do believe that you might able to file a restraining order. Look into it and make sure you talk to your local police department and alert them about your ex.

I will be your first dislike because of lack of preparation and overall presentation. While I'm not saying you do not know your job and or the law I am saying that you could have spent a little bit more time preparing yourself for a video such as this. There are not many KZbin videos about Tennessee gun law which is extremely needed in this day and age. But we do not need videos with such poor quality. As a person that might seek legal representation at some point in time in his life I can say for myself that I would be uninterested and would find legal representation somewhere else
@ttss5726
@ttss5726 4 жыл бұрын
Why do you need it perfect.... it’s a casual video giving the gist of the law.... for someone with a user name like yours you would think you might understand for every law there is a counter law and then there is law that’s in between.... you can’t judge a video on ones preparedness when it’s in the moment. Plain and simple you’ll know your chances the first meeting with any lawyer how they look... how prepared they are for walking into a situation they have no knowledge about if they arrive when they say.... timely is a huge indicator...eye contact etc. then again one could say you user name clearly tells everyone on the type of person you are... one of those I think I know the laws ... purposely carries to get stop and argue with the police.... the type who refuse to show an ID and rather make a 2 minute process take 30 minutes then jump on KZbin or Facebook and bitch about it.... you see how assumptions work in both directions..... Simply put you can’t get a good judgement on anything from video of a persons work ethics.
