My grandfather fought in Vietnam, WW2, Korea, and The cold war. He loved guns and he always told me "guns are like keys, they sit there and you don't think about them until you need them" and that always resonated with me
@loctite222ms3 жыл бұрын
That's sort of the opposite message conveyed by this video. They're saying you need to train and prepare for a time when you might need to use your weapon. In a life-threatening situation, you don't want to be in a "Where did I put my keys?" state of mind. The gun is sitting there as inert as the keys, but you have to be prepared if it's going to be of any use to you.

I learned to shoot with my dad and Older brother when I was maybe 10 or 11. My dad started me off with a Remington 410. Two years later he let me shoot his pistol, taught me all about recoil, backstop assessment, and just about all you can involving firearm safety. When I was 15 he bought an AR15 chambered in 5.56. Me him and my brother went up to a private outside range and spent about 3 hours there that day. My friend bought a m&p gen 1 when he was 21 along with his CCW, never fired a gun prior to that. He never went to the range, he never dry fired around the house when his wife and child weren't home to simulate break in situations. My friend lost his life at 24 years old, two years ago, his wife was beaten and their 3 year old son was luckily left unharmed. The burglar was carrying his own pistol, a hi-point 9mm. My friend woke to noise downstairs, and fired shots into darkness, missing every shot and giving away his location. The 36 year old man killed my friend with 6 bullets, tied up and beat his wife, stole his gun, and a bunch of important family items and valuables. Moral of the story. It's better to have a gun than not to. But its the best when you know when to use it, and how to properly utilize it as a tool of self defense. As a former NRA pistol, defensive shooting instructor, I always stressed the greatest weapon you have for your personal defense is the educated, trained, and prepared gray matter between your ears. Prepared to handle a violent situation mentally, understanding this is your life, your families lives, what are you willing to do to protect them. Until you can answer that without equivocation, no second guesses, no maybe I could, but YES I CAN, with confidence. This only comes with training, and competence with your chosen weapon. that means practice, practice, practice. Safety is number one, practice is next, and both MUST be used in conjunction, consistently. I'm large, combat trained, but I'm also trained in psychological warfare I've talked my way out of more violent situations then most, and drawing a weapon has never been necessary,. Two police officers I trained took my words, and training to heart, they squared off with 6 gang members, over 40 shots fired, they were the only ones to go home. They were prepared mentally, and physically to survive, and go home to their families.

The last lady makes a very common sense point that I have tried to make for so many years. A gun doesnt kill people, the user of the gun does. If you outlaw guns and somehow disarm all the criminals as well, they will just choose another tool be it a baseball bat, a knife, a car, a hammer.. etc. Look at England for the past couple of years. Citizens there, for the most part, do not own firearms BUT they are having a massive knife crime problem to where they have national campaigns now against "knife violence" You cannot stop crime or violence by taking away the tools people use, you have change the people. Until someone comes up with a miracle way to do that, honest people need a way to be able to protect themselves when the criminally minded decide to become violent. And be not fooled, a stick, a bat, a knife, a bare fist CAN be a deadly weapon and people can kill you with them so it is NOT just others with guns you need to be able to defend yourself against but EVERY potentially dangerous or deadly threat. This ability, this RIGHT is well worth fighting for.

In reality, there are people who quietly do what they must do and then there are people like you, who talk big about doing things they want others to believe you'd do.

These are amazing individuals with such great insights: 2nd Amendment as a civil right, training exactly like we are going to have to fight, people as the evil doers, being open with our 2A beliefs. So great in so few.

Finally, all the things I trained my children in, all these actions and knowledge these people are talking about I past on to my family. At a point in my parenting life I was told I was wrong in doing these actions with my children and now people are finally excepting what I knew all those decades ago. How could you figure.

Great stories and experiences. The last lady has the most clear understanding of realities, dangers, and the foundations of all crime, desires and choices of people. We have more people every year who don't have resourcefulness, or, motivation to learn how to acquire resourcefulness and responsibility. We will ALWAYS HAVE FAILED HUMANS WHO WANT SOMETHING YOU HAVE, without having to work for and earn it for themselves. Everyone needs to learn to recognize the profiles of criminal minds, or else you will likely be taken out by them in the future. Discuss that person with an authority who has to deal with those types, perhaps they can give you hints, and helps to deal with the problems that are going to eventually arrive.

I would never open my door to a group of armed people.. call 911... yell at the door that police are on the way... retreat to your children... Opening the door was the probably the least safe thing to do... You keep the barrier locked that protects your children
@chachi95252 жыл бұрын
EL MODERN: EXACTLY! I wrote a similar comment earier tonight, Jay is an idiot, if his neighbors had called the police and they showed up to find Jay with a gun and multiple "individules" also armed with guns, engaged in a heated exchange in front of his house, he could have been shot. Jay's story is pure fantasy created to fool the USCCA into including him in this panel.

Buy a holster when you purchase your gun! A woman was rifling through her purse searching for her keys & she accidentally shot her 14yr old daughter. A holster would have prevented that, even if her gun was loose in her purse. Concealed carry purses keep your weapon in its own dedicated compartment, in a holster. So, when you need it, it's in easy reach but you won't shoot someone else by accident.

If someone doesn't inherantly posses the understanding of the importance of self-preservation and the protection of family, then they are too stupid to safely handle firearms to begin with.

Chachi, training is knowledge. People need to be knowledgeable inorder to know and use guns. No need to insult those that know nothing about guns. AGAIN KNOWLEDGE IS ACQUIRED BY TRAINING
@chachi95252 жыл бұрын
@@kennymcdonald2326 Yes, but to my point: If you don't have the training you shouldn't touch a firearm, period. I have talked this talk and walked this walk with myself and my son. He didn't touch even unloaded pistol for two years after I first showed him one of mine. We watched hours of KZbin videos over those two years. After six months being able to recite the rules of firearm safety, and describe the safety features of each of my guns he was allowed to hold my unloaded Sig P226. The first thing he did was to point it in a safe direction with his finger off the trigger and eject the magazine, then he racked the slide and engaged the slide release to show me it was completely unloaded. The first day I took him to the range, the RSOs were impressed with his sritch adherence to the range rules. They were also amazed at his proper grip, stance and gun handling. His shot placement (6.5 inches) was incredible at 25 feet for the first magazine ever shot with a 9mm P226 by an 11 year old. His shooting is above par even for seasoned adults, but is secondary to his demonstration of firearm safe handling, this is per the RSOs. So yes, I can be rude, because guns are an extremely serious topic and I don't want some dullard who is on the firing line "learning knowledge" to kill my son or anyone else because they had a negligent discharge.

This is 2nd Amendment should work for all law abiding citizen who take gun ownership responsibly. Second Amendment is every law abiding citizen Right to bare arms. That right can be revoke that moment you committed a crime. It’s important responsible gun owner should know your Constitutional right to bare arms as well as your Constitutional responsibility to the American society.

I was raised to learn how to shoot and respect firearms. My dad bought me a M1 carbine to deer hunt with when I was 8 years old. Before that it was 22LR at the range practice.

I think a point that really hits home for a conservative mama, like me, is this: you ARE your family's first responder. Yes it might be "the man's job to protect" but it's OUR jobs as Mama to be there for when your man is out providing. At least that's what got ME into guns.

The woman with the abusive husband, is exactly why I teach my daughters how to shoot!! I’ve taught them and continue to teach them firearms safety, shooting, draw and fire, hunting (this is so they know how it feels to take a life without taking a human life) also teach them how to dress out the animal they harvest( so they know what a firearm does to a body!!!) I also teach then you need a partner for companionship!!! You can take help and help your spouse but you need to be independent or self reliant!!! I teach then how to check oil, change oil, check and change brakes, washer too off fluids in a vehicle, what tools do what, how ti build stuff anything that’s not TYPICALLY a roll of the AVERAGE woman!!! There are plenty of woman out there doing every and any job not saying they don’t or they can’t by any means!!! Just saying if they aren’t taught same as boys they won’t know!!! But I try to teach them not forcefully they actually want to learn it but I try to teach all of my knowledge!! And they lean how to be a girl. And woman from their mother!!! Stories like yours let me know I’m doing the right thing!!! Very happy your now safe and taking the steps to insure you and your sons safety!!! Thank God you made it out of that situation and God bless!!!

how many customers has USCCA gone after for fees after they plead down to a lesser charge at the recommendation of their legal council because according to the contract you sign when purchasing coverage from USCCA, USCCA can go after you for what they paid your lawyer if you are convicted of a crime which is very common in self defense cases

Tip nobody tells you learn how to shoot while moving if you’re standing still and someone actually knows what they are doing you are dead. try to get to a light jog and accurate. The hip fire or low ready is good for this practice. good luck standing still
