7:50 this the most violent scene of the bunch. A 70 gr tennis ball hurts, but a 300gr frame at this speed is way more harmfull ! Rune knew he touched her, she's crying when going out and I can understand that.
@LouisaReacts9 ай бұрын
That looked painful, obviously completely accidental. To be fair to Rune, he checked on her straightaway and told the umpire to come down. Seeing another side to him is nice, as we often see the hot-headed side.

Im SO GLAD I watched this, I play a LOT of doubles and i run 2 tennis teams, plus teach beginners. I have been hit at the net but RARELY and if i CANT react in time, I turn away, so I can see this is a very common move if you cant hit the ball, to avoid damage to yourself. And if I slam the ball I aim away from the opponent or i aim at their feet instead to avoid doing damage to anyone. In order to greatly increase ones reaction time at the net, I strongly encourage tennis players to play ping pong, and KEEP at it until your reaction time is LIGHTNING fast, drive yourself to play VERY VERY fast ping pong, doesnt matter if you keep score or not. my galpal and I have played for years, we have never kept score; and after 2 yrs of playing very fast pp she began to win GOLDmedals at pickleball! she accredits her wins solely to playing very very fast aggressive ping pong. it has also greatly improved my net skills, my reaction time and my planscoring ability.

@matthewbuck506711 ай бұрын
That rule of winning a point by hitting the person at the net with a serve is the dumbest rule in tennis. You miss a serve by a mile, but let’s give you the point lol
@JK-vc7ie11 ай бұрын
It almost never happens. I’ve played my whole life and it’s never happens on my court. I wouldn’t worry about it.
@adamcravets540811 ай бұрын
In 30 years I’ve done it once and had it done to me once. In a college match I, unfortunately, nailed the guy in the groin so we took an extended break. I got nailed in the shin. But the rule makes sense when you look it at from an overall viewpoint. If my ball might go out during normal play but hits a player standing in the middle of the court it would be impossible to tell who won the point without the rule. They don’t make the rules situational.
@dayostical11 ай бұрын
@@adamcravets5408 During a serve as opposed to normal play, there's only one outcome; the ball has to land in the box. If it hits the guy in the other box, then they had no chance of winning the point in the first place. Still a silly rule, imo.
@TOXRaizou11 ай бұрын
@@dayostical You're viewing the problem at a wrong angle. What would happen if that player were to be inside the box and managed to get hit before the ball landed ? The rule is there to make it clear the player getting hit is a winner for the opposite team.
@Sir3gar11 ай бұрын
@@JK-vc7iewell if you looked closely at that pair in the video, he was sus af to do that intentionally on 2nd serve to get the point, even the opponent at the very last point throwed his racket and maybe thinking "this is ridiculous"

@adamsawicki122111 ай бұрын
They have to change that rule, when you serve if you hit your opponent(s) before the ball bounces the point is yours. You can clearly see that the serves are going out and the balls come flying in 100-200km/h how on earth can you have time to react and get away? I've seen quite a few points like these and its an absolute ridicoulous rule. Should be a replay of the point.
@amorris52511 ай бұрын
Nope. Hard disagree.
@seangates90011 ай бұрын
Right, but then you'd be getting net players cheating inside the box. I like the rule the way it is.

@@seangates900and how would the opponent at the net cheat??
@seangates90011 ай бұрын
@@Sir3gar Let's just say that at the club level, I've seen the occasional doubles opponent stand one INCH from the centre line. I gave a friendly warning that I MIGHT serve down the centre. I informed him of this rule, and he retreated. =) Not all of what I call "cheating" breaks the rules. We might call it "tempting fate".
@Sir3gar11 ай бұрын
@@seangates900 that doesn't validate your point, why the opponent standing close to the centre line you called cheating or tempting the fate? You shouldn't warn him in the first place, just serve down the centre to him then he touched the ball and you get the point 🤣
