After a lifetime teaching tennis, I like his recommendations!!!! I'd like to add: When you hit a slice backhand with cold...... BALLS!!!!!!!! The cold balls don't bounce as high and when you miss judge, it hits the bottom of the horizontal racket (3 o'clock for a rightie)... The torque of the "off center" 50 lbs shock, pulls the extensor's tendon, ripping its insetion from the bone. Using the eastern or semiwestern grip when serving, forces to make up, by tossing the ball more to the left (another wrong to make it work) and the swing ends through your tibia. Naturally, you apply the brakes and stress the same extensor muscle insertion, again. This doesn't usually cause tennis elbow by itself, but if it hasn't healed property, it will. A heavier headed racket helps reduce off center shocks to your arm and flexibility adds miliseconds to the impact, reducing it considerably at the maximum point. * Try not playing for a month after no pain (really!). * Use the bubble strap to provide shock absorption to the short tendon. * Remember NOT TO HIT SLICE BACKHANDS until the balls warm up and you are used to them. * Serve with the continental grip, tossing to the right. Your serve will also improve! * TAKE LESSONS FROM A GOOD TECHNICIAN. You should have started there!

ALWAYS play with new tennis balls. ALWAYS. You get a more consistent bounce and the balls are livelier. Not only will you have less chance of injury, your timing will be better. Also, hitting flat balls is much easier on the arm than hitting topspin. Some bodies will break down trying to hit the ball hard on a consistent basis with topspin. It is better to be able to play regularly than to always be injured. Learn a flat forehand drive with a little slice for control. Save your arm!

The form thing is absolutely the best. Gripping too tight is usually the culprit. Also, too much lead in the head can definitely cause problems. I haven't read all the comments but I have a hitting partner who's still a 4.5 at 70+ (not easy) and he gave me an old school tip: Take a thick rubber band, put it around your finger tips so that your fingers are closed like a tulip. Then spread your fingers open and close them under control. Do this as a warm up and the tennis elbow will be gone in days.

I hyperextended my elbow by serving and I couldn’t play, it was too painful on my one handed backhand and also serve. I got some interesting advice on how to deal with it. A coach recommended a steroid injection, another recommended acupuncture. In the end a combination of no tennis for a couple of weeks plus some physio excercises to strengthen around the joint every day sorted me out and I haven’t had that problem since. What causes tennis elbow? Bad technique

I’ve tried several methods to solve my tennis elbow problems and only one thing has helped - electric acupuncture. Last time around I also had golfer elbow at the same time so it was double trouble. They used needles and connected really low current electricity to them. It was a weird feeling seeing the various arm muscles contract and ”jump” but after two sessions it just disappeared. It may not work for everyone but it’s worth trying.

For a better elbow experience, I went to smaller head size Prince Rebel 93/Wilson Pro Staff 7.5 and Dunlop 90 called Dunlop 100 and softer string like Head Hawk touch, Genesis Triangle, Prince Lightening. for those who have long term tennis elbow and despite exercises is not going away, don't do cortisone, do the DRY NEEDLE intervention. It's not acupuncture, it's much deeper and creates an injury effect on the elbow so that the immune system recognize that as a proper injury. it will be painful the day after but you will get back to normality soon. I had tennis elbow for many months and only that saved me

@@MrEternalFool In the beginning, when I started playing tennis again after like a 3+ year hiatus, I did experience some tennis elbow. Maybe I will add some weight to the head I think that light weight frame doesn’t help to avoid TE but vice versa as more weight brings more stability on the contact.
@Paulo-ze1tl3 жыл бұрын
Low RA control oriented frame with low tension. The lower tension will give the player the familiar power of a stiffer power/spin oriented racquet. Yes, clash is a great option and so is Yonex EZONE in either the 98 or 105 or the VCORE entire line. BTW, VCORE 100 is a great alternative for those coming from banana arrow.

I realize it has been some time since this video was added to the collection, but the following is worth noting for those who may stumble over this tennis elbow episode: The product "2XU" seems to be a generally good one, but I have an observation/complaint. I'm 6'5" with relatively thin arms. Based on what was stated, I decided to buy a "medium" for myself. I think it was a good idea--it fits well. However, I also bought a small for my wife, who is just over 5' tall and of average weight and dimension. The sleeve is waaaaaayyyyy too long for her arm. It has to be folded on both ends for the designated elbow area to be in the right location. I measured her small against my medium, and they appear to be the same length. It seems to me that someone isn't thinking very clearly...

What i would recommend is firstly and formostly - check & double check your strings!!! 3.5s and below, end done 4.0s - you have no business being near a poly string. Use synguts and multifills instead. If you really want poly do a hybrid first! Poly does not give you control or spin! Proper form does! I can hit more controlled and spinny shot with syngut than any 3.5 with the spinniest poly! Poly only helps you if you have a spin shot I the first place! Work on form first. take a lesson or two on proper form every now and again. Tennis elbow comes from two shots mainly - miss-hit SINGLEHANDED backhand, especially slice and wrong pronation on flat serve! Watch out for youse and you will be ok

TE is a form of repetitive strain injury/tendinitis that has very little to do with technique or equipment. It is the inflammation of the tendons at the insertion points with the bones of the forearm. Braces DO NOT work! They actually restrict blood flow which slows recovery and healing. The ONLY true solution is complete rest until all pain and inflammation is gone followed by a prolonged period of daily targeted muscle stretching and strengthening. This will gradually lengthen and strengthen the recovering muscles allowing them to take more loading and consequently reduce the strain on the tendons. Do not waste your money on new rackets/strings/grips... Just rest and then stretch and strengthen!
