This was a great video on thick and thin lines to show value changes! I'm guessing this would be great for thumbnail sketches too. I always wondered how to do it correctly!

Love how you explain things! Never thought about how line width helped define foreground from background and etc.

Hi Teoh! What is the difference between the uniball pen vs. fountain pen? when do you choose to use which one? Also how about the copic or the micro liners? I also have a non drawing related question. What is your camera set up when you do your demo?
@teohyc8 жыл бұрын
+SUZII CHAN With fountain pens, you can choose your own ink. Since it is refillable, you don't have to spend more money buying disposable pens. Micro liners are pens for people who need to work with specific stroke thickness. My camera setup is at kzbin.info/www/bejne/maXFd4aGZtmhqJo

Hi its the pen that took over from fountain and dip pens in the 1960 its like the roller ball, but its was the first type of pen that you did not have to fill with ink.The maker was Biro and we still call them Biro, but that's really the makers name. Unlike fountain pens the ink last for months if not years in the tube inside the pen . just depends how much you use it. They must be the cheapest pen on the market these days. and you can get them in a range of colour inks and nibs thick, med & fine.Many people make them now. i use them for 70% of my urban sketching these days.
@teohyc8 жыл бұрын
Oh. You mean ballpoint pens. I do have some ballpoint pens that I use too, mostly from Uniball.

great tutorial. Thank you thank you for no time lapse. Have you switched to uniball from your fountain pen? Just got a package of vision myself. On sale at Michael's.I'm in Florida and because of time difference I love to get up each morning and get on youtube to see what you have for the day. Thanks again.

I don't really see a difference between the lines in the middle ground and the lines in the back ground, especially after you added all those lines to depict the forest trees. Aren't there any other more obvious ways to depict the subtle differences you're are trying to point out?
@teohyc6 жыл бұрын
To make the line thickness more obvious, just use pens with significant differences in thickness. E. G. 0.1, 0.5 & 1.0 instead of 0.3, 0.5 & 0.8.
