I played it up to lvl 10 the other day, and enjoyed what I saw. It doesn't stand out enough from the crowd to draw me away from Final Fantasy XIV, but it's a nice MMORPG if you're looking for something new.

My problem is that there are so many MMORPGs out there, so it's hard to find the really good ones. I've invested a lot of time in FFXIV, so it's hard for me to abandon it for another game. But if I was starting a new MMORPG these days, I'd pick Tera - on PC, probably. I need my keyboard for chats, as I don't like using a microphone. But what I played of the console version was a lot of fun. It reminded me quite a bit about Dark Souls, with huge enemies, active combat and all that. Makes me wonder what a proper Dark Souls MMO could be like. :-)

As someone who started out back when the game was Pay to Play, ALOT has changed since it went free to play. The game was so much more simple back then, now everything is complex and has shifted more to cosmetics and pay to win (as most korean free to play games normally go). Late game is nothing but a grind, and most will probably give up before they even hit max level.

I can't decide if i like this game or not. I hate the mini map. It's so damn confusing to figure out where your quest objectives are. So far it seems like an okay game, but it seems more like a cheap imitation of WOW, but is much easier to follow. This game also lagged like crazy for me, and it isn't my internet.

I found out that if you go to the map, then press circle and look for the quest you are doing you have the option to show the quest area. Has helped me out a lot.

It’s super casual mmo, got it two days ago and I am already lv40 , during this time I died only once in dungeon when both tank and healer dc-ed, to my surprise I found out you can rez right on spot we finished a boss and 30 mobs with no tank and healer. Questing requires some getting used to

Wish you had atleast gone up to the Item Level 410+ dungeons.. all the dungeons you do before aren't difficult at all because there's no mechanics at all fort them. Plus all your gameplay was ONLY the tutorial area, so I'm not seeing how this could at all be a viable review of you haven't reached near end game yourself.

Played it now until level 33. 2 biggest negatives would be how it has a laggy feel at times. (Switching areas loads for pretty long and traveling the Pegasus looks very laggy) Also, traveling trough the menus is a drag. Using the menu, looking at the map and going trough a lot of different items is SOOO painful and the "L1-2, R1-2" buttons used for traveling between inventory, crafting, skills, etc. took a lot of getting used to. Otherwise it honestly has been alright.

It's not perfect but not bad. My big pet peeve is the actions aren't very responsive, like attacking and dodging can get annoying(I played sorcerer) cuz you have to wait for the whole animation to end to input a dodge for example, it's super noticeable vs FF14 for example. Still fun but needs work.

Jon 5 if you haven’t figured that out yet, change yourself to a less clustered channel, usually only less then half of the channels are at high. Social spaces become about 1615262x less laggy in a low channel.

I have only completes 3 out of 7 runs because either our healer or tank goes offline and never returns. 15 min penalty really isnt that long but its still just a pain...

Jon 5 There is, if you are the leader of the party you can go to group management, and if you hover above your name you have the option to disband party with L3. You also can hover over others names you can remove them from the group as well.

I played Tera on PC for 3 years. There will never be optimization patches for this game. The same performance draining issues have been discussed on the forums since 2013 and never been fixed. What did fix a lot of them? Tera proxy modules (which is perma bannable for even running) esp if you are in NA with enmasse as publisher

This is the first game I'm playing of this type. I was looking more towards bayonetta type of game (fighting style) (drop game names on Xbox one that have that type of fighting please) but it's interesting I'm just confused and get confused a lot. The console version, the first week was bad optimized, for example, i enter to an area and it lags, same when i go to the console menu, at least that's what i experienced during my first days on the PS4 version of Tera.

Max level in around 16 hrs. This game is BS compared to other MMOs. 5 or 6 out of 10 for me as it has beautiful cutscenes, good scenery, nice music and sounds, and well-diverse enemies. The bad: The easiest MMO I ever played in terms of currency, leveling, dungeons, and world boss fights. Standard MMO gather and hunting quests. Skipping just about everything is so optional I only did Kumas Battleground (basically child-friendly LoL) for 3 or more times the exp as a normal vanguard quest dungeon and only vanguard quests that lead to the Trophies. It was a bit addictive in the beginning due to the style and look, but wears thin after a good while (between lv 25 to 35). They literally give you EVERYTHING.. Gold, equipment, exp boosts that I never even felt I had to use (and never did use) as I gained levels too fast, fast travel to almost anywhere. In all honesty, it felt like a waste of time if only for Trophies/Achievements.

I have never had a crash, the frame rate barely ever dips (only in the main town with alot of character models) and you can revive after death, with the game giving you the self-revive items in the storyline, with the gold cost also being very cheap to revive

I hate being animation locked in almost every aspect. In an MMO I like to block when I want to block, not when the game decides I can. It's infuriating. There's a LOT wrong with this game, even for it's age. I played Lord of the Rings Online for years and still play Star Wars: The Old Republic from time to time and they do many things better than this game. There's no reason for game mechanics to sometimes feel broken 7 years after the game launched. I get a lot of large enemies running too far away from me and resetting combat half way through their health, attacks not registering at all, and major lagging entering populated areas (I'm constantly switching servers to avoid this). Not to mention all the "buy gold cheap" bots spamming chat in EVERY BIG TOWN. If you can overlook all that, it's not a terrible game.

Shinstrikex ya it's only been a pain in the main city area and on some travel. Haven't had an issue while in combat though but I'm currently 30 and gone through the first two dungeons a couple times each. Not sure how it is in the endgame...

Uhh, I can't stand the freemium excuse anymore. Mmorpg's tend to be games where you'll invest a fair amount of time into. Just do yourselves a favour and spend a couple of bucks on a buy to play title such as Teso, which is also action combat, has immensely more production value and is already obtainable for as little as 20 bucks.. Seriously, I played Tera on my Ps4 pro in early access and the quality is unacceptable (lags in town or when opening the map, shallow wolrd design and npcs, horrible voice over). It's just not polished. And no, those things are already in the game for years now in the pc client and they won't be fixed on console (or pc for that matter).

I play the tutorial and got bored very quickly, funny on how the elder scrolls online is the only MMO game that I actually enjoy, maybe is because of the overwhelming freedom the game give you, I'm not that interested in classes and insted would like a more mix up class I can create, something that scrolls online seems to be the only one that those also you can enter and steal in scrolls online making money out of cheap means, and the world isn't bland Yeah I'm not a fan on classic MMO games and tera didn't really push me to try it more

Combat is better in Tera, eso combat is boring af and story line is nothing special. Eso is on par with Neverwinter the sad part is eso will charge you an arm and a leg to get all content and a monthly scrip, for the money they want they're game should be a lot better than the free 1s but it's not. Also don't know who your playing with but all characters will be basically the same as there are builds everyone follows

I'm The Best Disagree with everything you said. Story is way better. World better thought out. The character builds are so in depth that I can pick same race and class 20 times and each play radically different. That's the best part. I assume you lack knowledge of all the race skills, class skills, pvp skills, guild skills (which all can be morphed 2 different ways each) and the insane amount of armor sets each with different bonus buffs that can be mixed and matched, yeah there is no contest. Tera you have barely any build difference at all. Then the world interaction with npc's and your surroundings is on a whole other level that Terra can not provide. Terra plays like a free to play game. Its just ok at the end of the day if you have nothing else to play.

As a person who has reached 65 a couple days after early access launched and still check on the game now and then i can say this review is very innacurate. Showing a few low lvl things doesnt tell you everything you need to know to give a proper rating. I myself consider the port to be a complete failure as the biggest issue (still persisting today) is the terrible memory leaks that cause MASSIVE framerate drops and i mean to the point where its like the game is flipping through screenshots or something. Enmasse has so far consistantly failed to deliver on many fronts to even FIX issues wrong with it's game let alone add anything quality of life related. Most of the effort we have been seeing bluehole put in is towards menial unimportant things like event item bugs or apparently the way a river flows on a map, but when it comes to the serious issues that are literally gamebreaking (mostly endgame dungeons and things) Enmasse has failed to address or even announce anything regarding such. So far with the way the teams are prioritising things, putting out constant new loot boxes (i call them gambling boxes lol) most people are starting to lose hope for this game to actually grow into anything reassuring or good on the console. Some people are even convinced this may be enmasse's way to put out a final cashgrab before the game dies. I had real hopes for this port as i'm a huge console gamer and could never play mmo's on keyboard/pc, but after trying my best to actually get into this game on console it keep pushing back even harder with nothing but negative experiences. Now i am sure some of this is due to the fact that i am a veteran on ffxiv online and am used to much different in terms of game quality/standards/and management are concerned but i feel that even for the small team and free to play game that Tera is there was still no reason for bluehole to do such a terrible job. I feel like they didn't even TRY to fix anything that they knew was important. That's the way it appears at least as it has been months now and real big issues with the game are still ongoing with no attention whatsoever. Anyway sorry for the wall of text, i voiced my opinion and others may think otherwise, but this is what i think and i will leave it at that.

Try telling the real truth. Horrendous framerates and sever issues, broken mechanics in every direction. Dozens of things not put into the game that are supposed to be there. Things IN the game that the game abandoned long ago and left in there because the build they released on the PS4 is years old and they're happily taking people's money for a game that's literally only half finished on PS4. Whole sections that are obviously meant to be used like a whole arcane college area with trainers and vendors but they're all standing there completely useless, no questlines put in for them. Vendors everywhere that have inventory on PC but none on PS4. A crafting system on PS4 with recipes that require ingredients that DON'T EXIST in the game at all. (Deosilex anyone?) To perform a task that also doesn't exist at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a whole questline early on for crafting that's supposed to be in the game and isn't. And literally LOTS of other broken parts in every place you go in the game. This is a game that is literally a sick, weak shell of what a game is supposed to be. It's broken in every direction you turn. Yet they have NO problem letting people spend real money on this atrociously defective product at all. Did you even play for more than an hour? The hell kind of review is this, are you BLIND??? You're happy with the monetization on this video even though you're LYING to your subscribers about this huge screw up of a video, still gonna take that money and run right LOL typical KZbinr, fake it til you make it. Sadly the rewards like most mmos have in game such as mounts, and clothing options are locked behind loot boxes and a in game store. No real achievements but TITLES😏.

pretty much everything can be obtained without money, just find someone selling it in the brokerage, and also a large amount games dont allow you to get items from events until that event rolls over again, or if its a one time thing never

I played a lot of WoW and ESO and Tera to me is very boring ... i leveled 2 characters on console to 65 and my main problem with it is ... it's not flexible enough... tank gotta be tank, dps gotta be dps and healer can be just a healer. in both WoW and ESO each class had main set of abilities but also could be anything else with the proper skills and setup ... for example in ESO Templar mostly was oriented for heals BUT with the proper setup of his skills (ton of skills) he was a great DPS. In Tera this kinda flexibility and builds are simply not there ... u have limited skills, hear and setup and gameplay is just extremely boring. I moved on after 2 weeks.

the only real bonuses paying gets you is a 100% XP bonus, but you can buy them fairly cheaply from the , and a travel book that can teleport you to any place on the map, but you can buy teleport scrolls fairly cheap aswell
