Great Video, Alex - thank you so much! I am in contact with the Teradek support. Today, they wrote to me, that the Vidiu X does not currently support bonding multiple cell phones, but that this feature is planned for a future release. It then will bond up to four phones at the same time like it currently does with the VidiU Go and the VidiU Pro.

Hi Alex. Love your vids. I have seen 5 long tutoriels on this device now, but I am still not sure what is does. The modes are confusing me. Access point/client. I need a device that will supply bonded network for fx a ATEM Mini either from its LAN port og wifi from the device. Will this do that ? I saw your RasberryPi bonding with Speedify. Here you showed how the LAN port could be used as a connection for ATEM. Can the VidiU do the same ?

I use the Vidiu Pro and an Alcatel EE120 Usb 4G/LTE modem router with no connection issues. I would highly recommend anyone who is serious about streaming to go hardware over software.

I find it difficult to use the network bonding .. I am in ghana and I am able to connect with the teradek vidiu app but can’t seem to get the video feed on the share link for bonding to happen .. any help . I have the vidiu x

That is just a preview image on the control feed. It refreshes every second or so, so you can see what feed is going into the encoder.

If using Sharelink for multiple destination, is there any reason to have a Restream account ? Your kit shows both the Teradek Vidiu and ATEM. Do you use these together? What is the best setup could you to create a video? Also what it would look like with the mini?

If I purchase the Teradek, do I need to also purchase the subscription of ShareLink or can I stream directly with RTM without a ShareLin account using this device? Im thinking of combining this with Atomos Shogun but wanted to know if the recorded Teradek video on the SD card is it usable at all?

The monthly Sharelink subscription gets you mutlistreaming to simultaneous destinations and also network bonding. But you can totally use the Vidiu X without Sharelink and do direct to any one platform at a time. You can use their integrated Facebook, KZbin, etc.. paltform logins or straight RTMP.

Hi Alex, I have a question for you... When I stream to KZbin or Facebook via Sharelink, the stream doesn't work. If I do it without Sharelink, all works correctly. My question is, what do I need to fix up to make Sharelink work? I'm not worried about going to an individual or multiple destinations. I am however needing to bond networks, which is why I need to stream via Sharelink. What would be stopping me streaming to a destination via sharelink?

Hi I am using vidiu pro and vidiu x. Streaming with vidiux is supported only 25 frames also in the live I am getting pixelated video. My camera send 50k frame rate but If I select frame rate 50 in web Ip interface it's streams 25 frames only. Kindly advice me for 50 frames live stream with vidiux

Have you used this much to livestream? I was on the verge of buying and then started noticing negative reviews that Teradek tends to drop streams randomly and for no reason. Have you heard/experienced this? Thanks.

Great review; one question. The pricing boxes on the Sharelink website notes that bonding is only available with Vidiu Go and Pro. Is the Vidiu X so new the site needs to be updated ?

Good spot Jonathan! I think it must be that Teradek have just forgot to update that note on their website. But yeah, bonding has been working great for my with my VidiU X and Sharelink :)

I just recently found this video. I use a Vidiu X for my church livestream with 5 cameras. This unit isn't reliable. As some of the revues I've read have pointed out this unit has a habit of randomly stopping the feed and mine is no different. It just shuts off and most times doesn't reconnect. No, it isn't my internet connection....it's the unit itself and then there's times like 2 weeks ago where I start the live stream and it never goes live....the display just keeps reading starting. I'm looking at other encoder options and they're all more expensive but I can't depend on this one. When it works correctly it's a breeze, simple and easy to navigate and really does the job I needed it to do, but then there's those other days......

I am looking for live streaming encoder and find your video for Vidiu X introduction. And I am wondering how is the live streaming video quality with only cellular connections ? As I am always in the pitch to tape football game without other bonding networks.

Hi Andrew, Your bandwidth will be the main thing that will effect the quality of the stream, so as long as you have a good and stable cellular signal, it works great. With the Vidiu X you could use Network Bonding to bond a hotspot signal from your phone, along with a 3G/4G/5G USB Modem for extra bandwidth / reliability. Hope this helps :)

Hey Samuel, the biggest factor is choosing a good quality lens! After that, I pump a 1080p 50fps feed from the camera to the ATEM Extreme and then use the ATEM to adjust the colour. The footage I get out the ATEM is the footage I use in my video, I don’t do any colour grading in the edit. Hope this helps :)

I would like the Teradek VidiU X to support accessibility and voice over, then I’ll be able to use it. I’am totally blind and I’ve always wondered why companies that sell and make broadcasting equipment can’t put a talking feature in to they’re broadcasting systems and recording studio equipment as well, I’am in to stuff like that I’ve always been interested in things like that.

Thanks Phil, there are a couple of things the VidiU Go is great for over the Vidiu X. It has both SDI and HDMI inputs, an internal battery, can support HEVC encoding, and works with Teradek Core too. If you go onto Teradek's website there is a side by side comparison for even more details :) Hope this helps

I haven’t personally tested it on streams longer than 3 hours... but in all my tests, it worked flawlessly :) Hope this helps

Hey Stephen, with the Vidiu Go you can connect up to 4 mobile devices for this additional redundancy. I believe with the Vidiu X you can only hotspot from one, but you may be able to plug in a second via a USB cable and have the VidiU X treat it as a wired modem. I personally haven’t tried it, but I see not reason why it wouldn’t work :)

Just given back the Vidiu X as its not for a PRO user. You cant change the Profile Main to Baseline etc, unit keeps dropping out and so I loose the stream. The deinterlacing is set to ON and cannot be turned off yet the unit WILL NOT deinterlace the stream. Had a massive outage on Sharelink in the middle of my broadcast to England, no email notification that work will be commencing and Teradek do NOT have a redundant (on AWS) server which means, IM OFF THE AIR for the entire time.. Sorry frustrated customer here, but I did like that then Vidiu X had the ability to kick over to anoth internet source if 1 died using RTMP/S. Also it had a bug were it would not show WIFI functionality only Ethernet and USB Modem capable. Received a second unit, exact same sympton bar the WIFI issue.

I found that very interesting, especially the networking. At work we have a dual network so we'd probably be in the dark by the time both of our networks went down, but I'd still like to know more about how it all works. On the subject of networking, all the addresses you had in your video were IPv4. Do you know if there is IPv6 support in the system (and in the servers you are sending to)? It just seem that there's far too much NAT going on!
