I lost my mind when I was 18. This man’s voice I listened to through the internet was the only thing that restored my sanity to the point where I can function. Once the window protecting me from madness was blown open by the storm wind of insanity, it can never be fully repaired and shut. But knowledge can keep me warm at least.

What caused you to lose your mind? I often feel like I’m teetering on the edge, going back and forth between total control and total loss of my mind. It’s strange. McKennas words can definitely be comforting, and I think it has to do with the support of a strong community

@@andrew6226 hey! Multiple factors. Was addicted to drugs. Have mental illness. But it really got fully fledged after I took a high dose of some still unknown research chemical. Doctors didn’t know what I took and I was in a psychotic episode for a month or so until I was medicated to a manageable point. This issue hasn’t fully subsided unfortunately. But I’m okay now. I feel for you man. For us with open minds who are willing to explore more uncharted crevices of consciousness, we are often not navigating with a compass or life jacket. Loved ones are a life saver. I hope you are well ❤️

@@FrostRare hey man sounds like you've had some rough experiences and I'm sure you've come to this conclusion already but this is just a friendly reminder that you should never take a RC without reading and learning all about it. Read about other people's experiences, it's LD 50 or atleast a summation of that information if you can't find it. Sorry to hear about your experience, I hope things get better for ya!

now that we are a bit closer to what he describes, there is an obvious fly in the ointment. the metaverse and social media are early versions of what he descibes, but obvious to most people that these are systems of control by corporate/gov interest. maybe open source systems can fix this, but for now it looks like a serious dead end. political polarization and mental dis-ease disconnection and loneliness has been the result. reconnection with community and nature seems to be what a lot of peope seeking

Indeed. Owners and controllers will tend to oppose the presence of their detractors, and thereby form an echo chamber. Humanity's 'digital space' existence must not be constrained to that field of ideas agreeable to investors, insurance agents, emforcers, and shareholders.

@@marcus8710 theres other problems too besides what we just talked about, check out after skools vid on audience capture. its some sinister sht. 'the social network' hints at the ai behind it not be benevolent. maybe there's room for optimism there, but social media tends to make people more dysfunctional and less happy, and less connected - both to themselves and others. the whole space existence, i struggle coprehending what that means...i guess i would.. i just cant see it not being something fkkn lame like the metaverse. the idea that anything digital can mimick reality - nevermind a psychedelic experience is just so far out IMO. know what i mean? but then again, not being able to imagine future tech is hardly unheard of.

What a talk. He explains his relationship with his DMT (and other) visions HERE. How these very fundamental structures of being, when thought of, take parts of McKenna's space, appear outside and inside (while he's thinking these out) AS REAL (at least this is how it looks; but there's, which ain't obvious for the unexperienced, an axiomatic and ground-setting mathematical notion to grays and entities that is inherent to the very first structures appearing in the time of our universe). What a joy to simply unpuzzle this wonderful man's complicated world of magnificent articulations!

I remember the McKenna brothers doing radio shows on KPFK in the mid-1980s, when that station was also running a lot of Alan Watts and Krishnamurti lectures. And good music as well. The analysis of these “universal archetypes/energies” and the definition of their substance is most interesting. I think the mind is unfettered when we dream, and we access vast amounts of archetypical information that is *mostly* too complex to translate into rational thought sequences upon awakening.

"The body is a pre culturally given. And coming with the body, is this amazing thing that everyone wants to either give away, throw away, and get away from. And that is the felt moment of immediate experience. The truth is not information passed by culturally validated coding systems among the primates at high chatter rate. The truth is in the felt space, in the body, in the moment." -Terence McKenna

So interesting what he predicts for the future. He was such an idealist that he couldn't see how sinister things would become. That passage he finishes around 39 minutes sounds more like his personal death prediction rather than what happens to the collective human experience. Not that what he predicts won't happen to us in the future as well.

We are the bee seeking the flower with the most delicious nectar. Only we know which flower to choose; the flower calls to us with its sweet perfume and promise of sustenance. The flower is our passion and connection to the vitality of life. The flower is what we wake up for. In exchange for the freedom to choose the flower we bring pollen back to the queen. The pollen is the golden fruit we extract from the sensual encounter with the flower. We are a hive.
