I think this is why I am connecting so much with this teacher because I have been on the non dual path for many years and he speaks to the non dual essence of the Buddhas teaching which is about living from one’s true nature of awareness. There can be so much confusion in teaching, people learning more concepts and theology and this distils everything down to one thing, the one reality that we are that is not separate or distinct from anything. Such a joy, lightness and cheekiness emanates from this man. Just finished his book in love with the world and will definitely be engaging more online and with his other books. ❤️🙏🏻

One thing that I have noticed on the subject of basic nature is the fact that I can't stay agitated for long. Many past agitations seem to have come from making mountains out of molehills, so this 'I' goes down a path of ruminating or plotting and making judgments and the feedback to my body is to go into action stations. Now the bodily stress feeds back to the 'I', which then further dwells upon an incident and creates a loop. So this 'I' seems to be interfering with my bodys ability to function correctly. Nowadays I just allow my body to do it's own thing. This has been of enormous help during everyday life. No more 'what if's', so now I can attend an interview and let my body go into autopilot. Of course doing a little homework never goes amiss while inactive but making a good first impression really seems to work. Aren't a lot of our interactions happening subconciously? I mean we have this 'I' character that has a sense of agency but maybe there are universal laws some of which involve things like harmony and balance, elements that our adult teachers have learned to live with and kindly hinted at.

Thank you for this video! A question: From watching these videos, I now understand the concept of awareness as Rinpoche describes, but what is meant by love and compassion and wisdom? I understand this of course in common usage, but I would like to understand his teaching better. Thank you.

Love is the aspiration for beings to have happiness and causes of happiness Compasion is the aspiration for beings to be free of suffering and the causes of suffering Wisdom depends on the context. But it usually refers to knowing reality as it is

Your talks are always helpful. I would love to join on line teachings but being deaf prevents this. I don't know how to meditate on the things mentioned. So far I use the breath and awareness, the latter most of the day. How do I meditate on live and wisdom etc?
@sandipghosh2563

Meditating on love is showing gratitude to every little things in life that are precious which includes your body, mind, health, parents, friends, and the fact that they are all alive and that you are alive. Being conscious of these things makes it very easy to calm your mind and then wisdom comes accordingly.... Seeing your overall true nature is wisdom.. Best of luck!!!!

@@sandipghosh2563 Thank you Sandip. I find that I'm doing most of the time but not when doing a formal driving meditation. I was thinking something more needed to be achieved whilst sitting. I'm striving to follow the eightfold path at all times. Hard work, one needs constant awarenes.

@@frayneashley1477 Please don't take meditation practice as a means to achieve something. Lots of people get stuck in "experiences" in the path of spirituality. You don't achieve anything when you are enlightened. You are always that consciousness, the buddha that is so close to you that you cannot see. Hard work and striving on the eightfold path? See the thing is the eightfold path was created a long time ago and in today's time it is not easy for us . So dont confine your mind but rather have a open mind. Self knowledge and self experience should both be achieved in order to have enlightenment.

if I put attention to pure awareness, or realize root Spirit, where does this 'love and compassion' come from? are those not derivative abstractions of egoic mind that only corrupt the pure essence? there are religious elements of your buddhism that I think have corrupted the essence of realization, (no?)

Thought precedes action. If you see the sage move, he's having thoughts. There can be no action without thought. Spontaneous action is just thought and action at the same time. So unless you're a dying vegetable you can't prove to me that you got rid of thoughts.
@SiSwitzer
@SiSwitzer 2 жыл бұрын
There is no need to try to “get rid” of thoughts, I agree I would say it is impossible for longer than maybe 10 or 15 seconds. As I understand it, this is unnecessary and even at odds with mediation practice (of the teachings I follow anyway) as non contrivance is important. So (the teachings say) that In mediation practice, we must be aware of thoughts as they arise and as they fall away but do nothing with them, as no matter what we do, they will come and then go. It’s more about how one deals with said coming and going than interfering with this as a process. Hope this makes sense 👍

This brings to mind an interesting question: does a buddha have thoughts? I believe not in the sense of our unenlightened minds. A buddhas state is pure awareness, however the historical Buddha, in the form of a human, was capable of answering his disciples questions. Were these his “thoughts”?
@sandipghosh2563
@sandipghosh2563 2 жыл бұрын
It is not Thoughts that you have to get rid off. All you have to do is get rid of worrying(चिंता) Worrying and conscious thinking are not the same. We worry(problem centric thinking) about our problems but only the wise one gets to the depths of our thinking(solution centric thinking) 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
