Funnily enough, when I started as Abella, I got weaponscraft, the officer sword and brought some crating materials with me. One of the three train luggage had the "syringe" in it and I was able to start off the game with the sandman's kiss.

​@@ADumbMf_ In my saving everyone run with Abella I got shot by a rifle man and reached 1 hp, so I went to the PRHVL Bop and in my way I found 2 salmonsnake runes and the leechmonger ring, i didn't had any medical goods so i went and killed some villagers with the Meat grinder. In evening day 1 I got another 2 salmonsnake runes. If that isn't luck then I don't know what it is.

Thye're pretty much an S tier weapon as they have one advantage no other weapon has essentially. It doesn't depreciate in value when you lose limbs. For some reason. Marcoh's fists basically have INFINTIE value, cause any other weapon in the game becomes useless when you get unlucky and lose all limbs but his stumps will deal 500-600+ damage every turn even if you're down to stumps, especially once your got max Adrenaline Rush stacks and some other buff like Heroine or Brown Vial.

Abella is the low-key strongest starting character, when I played with her I had a Sandman's Kiss crafted within 90 minutes of starting what would eventually be 13 hour run. Pair up with the goat as a distraction/ damage sink and the 100% poison chance will absolutely destroy the early and mid-game. Solid damage, bonus hit chance, bonus crit and 100% poison is insane. The rake is bugged, I think. The description says it causes severe bleeding but in game it doesn't. Either a bug or an oversight. The flaming mace is underwhelming, though you can craft it early if you get decent RNG on some fairly common items. I don't know why it only has 60% burn chance when posion and bleed are just as effective and their weapons have a 100% status chance. Let's be real though, despite the 2-handed limitation and the relative difficulty of getting it, the Meat Grinder is the best weapon in the game. Only 35 damage but it hits 3 times (so 105 effective damage) and it can crit on any of those hits. 100% bleed chance. Most enemies in the game cant survive the initial attack to the torso, those that can often die to the bleed before they can take an action. From the point of getting the Meat Grinder, Abella can probably very comfortably solo the game on her own. I got the Meat Grinder from Tunnel 1 on morning 1 and it never felt like anything could challenge me after that. My endgame party was Abella with the grinder, O'saa with the Sandman's Kiss and the goat. Looking back, after the early game the goat costs more to heal and feed than he delivers in terms of combat value. Abella and O'saa, each with a Wraith ring, Leechmonger ring and Betel stone were unatoppable.

you can, you just have to go to the bunker where she ends up once she leaves the train. You can pass the time by gathering the herbs or looting crates and then walk all the way to the bunker past the dogs and she will talk to you when you interact with the door in the ground. if you do not activate this event she will always become moonscorched so if you want a good party member make sure to do this@@usmanrayhan4885

Abella just shouldn't go with funny head-sawing doctor too orphanage at night Well she lost both arms it's was almost mercy kill. But when we fighted she magically regrow her arms and stanlock Daan with wrench for like 20 turns but hp for some reason don't drop after 1, funny times

Another downside to Red Virtue is that Perkele can reflect otherworldly attacks, and RV is considered otherworldly. So by the time you get it, you've probably killed most things anyway and the second to last boss punishes you for having it...

I think you forgot that extra turns allow you to fully rearrange your equipment and weapons mid turn and then have another turn to attack or stall. Just switch to one of the 5 or so other weapons you have by that point for free@@Chuckvsfrank1232

Cam confirm even the weakest characters can grab the kassara is the opening. Things can possibly go wrong but I've done it multiple times and I don't find it too hard to get. Gotta guard for three turns and rev up on his arm. Then torso shots until you win. It's more consistent if you use a healing items, but that seems like a good trade off for me

The story is amazing but the game is truly immersive. You always feel like danger is around the corner and impending doom from a single screw up but there are enough ways to just simply MacGyver your way to beat the odds. A lot of hidden goodies and secret methods to get to an area or beat a difficult enemy.

The destructive power of shotguns is massively overrated. Unless you're shooting point blank or high caliber slugs, the spread is more likely to knock something over than blast off a limb. As opposed to a single high caliber bullet, that can be accurately shot at joints. Shotguns could work like en garde from F&H 1, where you get an extra beginning action in combat, with the shotgun it could stun them for the first turn.

@@hunterlurvey698 The most common rifle rounds are .22 and .308, the .22 won't delimb anything but the .308 will definitely. The most common shotgun slug is .408, but remember that the slugs are filled with much smaller material, either birdshot or buckshot. And as you go up in size you're just adding more filler, the size of the bullets hitting the target doesn't go up, unlike rifles or pistols. You'd have an easier time blowing off an arm with a .45 desert eagle instead of an R12. It's not impossible to delimb something with a shotgun, but it makes sense in game that you do it with rifles.

In doing my first playthrough with Osa'a, you can actually get a decent sword(officer sword) or spear if you go through the full text backstory adventure(beginning of game). I will caveat this with- you can die at multiple parts which can make it time consuming if you're trying to do it trial and error.

If you wanna kill Abella to get her soul to get Weaponcraft, it actually only takes 1 soul stone to learn Weaponcraft skill. Crazy stuff. So you can steal from Abella at the start for Bench Grinder and other parts, kill her to get her soul, get 1 soul stone to get Weaponcraft... And Boom! You have a Meat Grinder super early in the run.

the bayonet is S tier for me. its the best gun type, and you don't need to waste a turn switching it out to conserve ammo in fights. in the runs I've had it, that extra turn w whoever has it equipped has saved my ass more times I can count.

I don’t get why the spear is so low? Pretty much every enemy in the game has zero resistance to pierce damage, which usually means wasting bullets with guns, but with the spear you can get pierce damage that is equal to other weapons you might have at the same time. There are definitely many fights where enemies are resistant to slash and blunt damage, in which case even if you have a stronger slash attack weapon it’s going to be dealing the same damage as the spear.

Spear is low-key broken early game with O'saa if you pick meditation (which is bugged and revs up to 3 instantly), he one-shots every contestant in the early game after you guard turn 1. I got rid of Karin, Tanaka, Abella, Daan, Marina and Marcoh this way. So the first encounter with pocketcat was way better this time with 6 contestants heads. Chose to trade for a vinushka bible, farmed a little for gro-goroth affinity, got scorched earth and basically one shot everything when I got to day 1 night. On the other hand, if you played maso mode I think O'saa is pretty much fucked because he can't deal with death masks easily as others with the trenchgun and the spear really doesn't compensate for that

Actually, you don't need to use 4 Soul Stones to obtain Weaponcraft. If you are Abella or have Abella's Soul you can get it right away, you don't need to "buy" the "previous" abilities

Trial and error that's all it really is. Strongest power in the game is just knowledge. Don't sweat it if you lose a good run, just remember what made it work and how you could best repeat it.

You have to play the game a lot and lose a lot to learn how to play well. I struggle with the game because I don't like having to lose to make progress. If you want to be a bit cheesy you can start as Marina and reroll your starting equipment book choice until you get the Vinushka skin bible. Then go into the woodsman's house, grab glass off the floor, fight the woodsman and throw the glass into his eyes to blind him. Then you can hopefully kill the woodsman without losing a limb. If you do that successfully you can get the axe weapon which is pretty decent and you get the key to the woodsman's basement. If you go into the basement you can draw the Vinushka symbol and pick up the pinecone pig from the tree upstairs. Equipping that will let you sometimes get items for free at the start of every battle. You can then go to the moonscorched that are clawing at their faces at the start of the village and get in battle with them. Since they don't attack you can repeatedly join battle and leave battle for infinite loot. It'll take a while to get much of anything useful but it is quite handy if you're struggling. Some of the loot you can get in ludes bullets, money, and the coins used for coin flip challenges. You might be able to get a book of enlightenment too from it but I'm not sure of that. Once you're done with the grinding you can either sleep to save or make a save point with a God of Fear and Hunger skin bible at the train.

7:05 I don't know, Lantern Flail is by far the easiest to get. There's a guaranteed broomstick in tunnel 5 and duck tape and ornamental lanterns are pretty common. I can usually have the stuff for it before I finish clearing out the village for heads and supplies

spear got pierce dmg and a kassara slash dmg, so why spear is d rank? i mean spear is literally oneshot for villagers, and kassara need 2 hits, and also almost every enemy is weak to pierce. Yeah u got 3 more flat dmg or whatever but spear got 50 PERCENT more dmg for weakness

seeing shotgun placed so low is painful. because most people know that you don't actually need levis skills to get a guaranteed two shot kill on most enemies in the overworld. two shots or one shot+booby trap is all you need to kill like 90% of the enemies you'll come across.

I can see Sabbath being low B tier once they implement more ghosts into the game... and if Miro ever hardcodes Marcoh to not be able to punch ghosts. Right now, there's only what, the child ghosts and a completely optional encounter? It could be a decent weapon for one character in a full party to wield, but right now there's just no real point in having a dedicated ghost hunter. Also I'm not sure how important damage weaknesses are on enemies, but I can see iron spear being low C tier just for being a source of pierce damage that doesn't use ammo. I think the neighbours are all weak to pierce damage? Could be useful to have that going in with a full team.

yeah the main issue is that damage types just don't have a big enough effect to worry, and I don't know if you could fix it. Bigger number = better unless you have a whole armoury, which doesn't really fit Fear and Hunger's style

Is the spear really that good? I started out with it as O'Saa and it's carrying me gretty good - all other weapons I got so far (even the mallet and the axe) just don't seem worth it, because so far pretty much every enemy is weak to stab damage anyways :o

weakness aren't a big deal outside of magic/physical split tbh. Spear is decent but you always run the risk of being unable to use it, and it's not guaranteed until late game when there's better stuff

yeah I've gotten every ending in the first game (which requires multiple Hard Mode playthroughs) and I've beaten Termina on Maso. Everybody learned how to beat Funger's S Endings from other people because they're really obscure, but I beat Termina fully by myself. spear is actually really good. almost every low-mid tier enemy gets 120% pierce damage, and there are barely any piercing weapons in the game
