Love the insight Nick brings to these by being the old man that lived through these movies. Also fun fact there’s an amazing deleted scene that Linda Hamilton’s twin sister was in as well, a technically difficult scene

Man I remember going to T2 in the theatre as a 14 year old with my father. What a ride. When the opening credits started with the burning playground, the incredible foreboding theme leading to the endoskeleton emerging from the flames with the crescendoing ' da da da da da', you knew you were watching some next level shit at the time. That gives me chills everytime I watch it, 28 years later. A sci-fi cinema classic if there ever was.

The jump into the river on the motorcycle did look much worse in the past, Greg. It used to look like an obvious stunt double. That is one of the few George Lucas style changes Cameron has made to this film since its original release.

1:10:06 The Director's cut contains a scene where John instructs the T-800 to learn how to smile and he analyzes a man nearby and then practices this terrible looking smile you've probably seen in a meme somewhere. The mini gun smile is the T-800 perfecting it lol.

@@flounder I've tried and tried to enjoy Bladerunner 1&2 but I just couldn't it was so boring imo I was falling asleep practically watching the new one. I do love the world and look but it was slow and boring for me. Id rather have the 12 alien/predator movies over those two

You guys REALLY should have watched the Director’s Cut, which goes into detail about how and why the T-800 is becoming more human (they switch his chip to read/write) and why the T-1000 “gets mad” at the end (shows him malfunctioning).

The Terminator and T2 were the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for my generation. The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. The Terminator is a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal.

I agree with Greg. T1 delivers a more memorable Terminator with the screen time given to Arnie other than just hunting scenes which we get with the T-1000, Reese and Sarah have a more explored relationship than John and T-800 & better chemistry and the horror theme over action gives the movie more weight to the story

Gonna post a bunch of seperate comments as I follow along, mostly because it's too hard to try and remember every counter point I want to make after a 110 minute long review. Andy, Tim, news channels spoiled T2 before it was released, it was widely known that Arnold was going to be a good guy this time in the movie. I remember the news clip, it was showing a clip from T1 during the tunnel car chase scene.
@gp63
@gp63 5 жыл бұрын
Yep,it was well publicized pre-release that Arnie was the good guy. I was well into the hype of this movie and I specifically remember Entertainment tonight reporting how Arnold was the protector in this one and an underdog against the T-1000. Though thinking about it now in retrospect, it would have been one hell of a twist if they kept the lid on it and had the movie play out at first like Arnie was gonna be the bad guy, until the point that he revealed his true mission.

Judgement used to be the proper spelling. But when news papers became common the spelling of words changed because most news papers would charge by the letter. So most people removed letters they felt weren't absolutely necessary. Gotta save that money.

I watched this movie when I was 4 years old in 1992. Since then I've watched this movie at minimum 10000 times , I know it inside and out every scene dialog bts info and deleted scenes, and so watching this I'm disappointed in the review with the Tim facts, Greg fucking up the movie time line, nicks needing explanation with certain things. Surprisingly this is the first time I didn't hate on kevin and hated on everyone else. Btw Tim this movie is almost 30 years old, everyone knows Vader is Luke's father, if she didn't know Arnie wasn't good in the first one? That's on her.
