Agree, it does not help the customer though to be a 'learning experience' for a shop. If a shop wants to build up knowledge they should do so on a shop car not waste a customers time and money unless the work is done for 'mates rates'. Anyhow, love what LHT do and again, jelous to not have access to them being outside US.

Haha seeing this video brings back so many fond memories of my kraftwerks install... 😂Had to install longer stud for the lower 15mm bolt. Had to buy longer upper mount Allen bolts 5mm longer because mine kept backing out even with red locktite. Took forever and a bit of trimming to get my IC piping routed. Doesn’t look as clean as LHT routing. Don’t know how they do it. My hoses were all too long so had to trim so it wasn’t a snakey mess. To top it off, my BOV froze up after one day of driving. Ended up taking apart and refinishing the piston and the cylinder with a Brillo pad. All in all it has not been the best experience. There are many tips and tricks you need to know to properly install this kit. I wouldn’t recommending doing the install yourself. If I could do it over, would have just taken it to LHT 3 hours down the road.

Out of interest you said about the DC sports manifold being too small, do you find that on supercharged applications upgrading from OEM is worth while? Being right hand drive its abit of a struggle to find a decent manifold that clears the steering rack. Oh and great video as per usual. I ran into an issue with the bypass valve on my HKS kit which is so undersized it struggled to dump the pressure. Looks like the kraftswerk one is of a decent size.
@TheChannel19786 жыл бұрын
Can confirm steering rack clearance is an issue on RHD with some hearders. I brought a J's header new ex Japan and we had to hammer it slightly get at least 1 inch clearance to the steering column (for safety reasons)
@dantran54786 жыл бұрын
John... What is the most common issue after someone gets a KW supercharger on their s2000? I'm on the s2000 facebook KW supercharger group page and they all complain about belt breaking all the time. I'm not sure if they are installing it incorrectly or you guys do a superior job of installing everything.
@LHTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
DammitDan Dammit that’s a tough question Dan....lol The few issues that people have are in most cases ‘ install error’. We put on 25+ kits with the 20mm belt and had very few issues. Since kit #30, all our kits come standard with a 30mm belt. The belt is a cogged belt, it need very little tension. In fact, it needs just enough tension not to produce too much noise. That’s it. There’s a few other improvements we make including some we mentioned in the video. I’ve used the reference, ‘Coka-cola’ in past videos, we have found many little tricks and ways to improve an already awesome kit.

A question as to why you replaced the timing chain tensioner with an OEM one? The failure rate of the OEM almost guaranteed at some point in the next couple years if he daily drives it. Why not replace with one of the aftermarket ones available?
@LHTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
David Crandon I’ve replaced many OEM tensioners. People hate to hear it, but if you change you oil regularly they have no issues at all. I’ve been working on S2000s since they came out in 99 and have plenty of real hands on with them. I don’t make money on them so I have to loose by giving the truth.

At 18:10 you realize you're going to have to replace the timing chain tensioner. Was that an "Oh shit, I should have replaced that while we were in there!" moment? Could you have heard that noise originally? Don't mean to criticize. It's obvious you guys do great work and your attention to detail is on point. BUT, didn't you just add 3-4 hrs labor $$ to go back in and replace? Love this video and showing 'real world' shit that happens to even the best.
@LHTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
BJK1715 The car made a lot of different noises when it came in. The timing chain tensioner is very easy on an S2000 and gives noise well before it would ever fail. It was something that was more noticeable after doing the other things. Same as the bypass valve that didn’t work.

Question why would you use the screen on the old pump "that's probably the original to the car and why the clip was missing" instead of using the new screen and clip? Is it possible that there was a problem with that screen and that be the reason the clip fell off in the tank. If it did.
@LHTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
Honda Guy The screen was a new one supplied with the pump. It was a couple of months old at best. The clip something most installers have trouble with. Worst case, if it fell off in the tank it won’t hurt anything.
