I love coming back and listening to these songs as an adult! This one in particular was one of my favorite covers of yours when I was in my early teens. I really battled with mental health and feeling like I couldn’t escape my situation. Now, as an adult, there are some days that are harder than others, but I always feel like these types of songs are conversations between my older and younger self. It takes me back to my roots and just makes me smile. Thank you for all the music over the years. ❤

I face that choice often myself. I choose to live, because I am gonna die someday anyways, right? Might as well just let it happen the way it is going to. My life is no where near perfect and I have since accepted the many problems I will never overcome. I see it like this: We all die eventually, Since we all have to face it there is no point going early since you could always be wrong. Though I often wonder if that enough of a reason. ***** It is easy to see why you might be weary viewing comments all the time. Don't let it get to you. In a way, this song catches that perfectly. Don't let internet terrorism and cruel thinking ruin your experiences. As long as you keep that in mind I feel you bring a better community up around yourself. I think what happened is, this song happened to grab the attention of a bunch of philosophers (by that, I simply mean people who think deeply about life, about everything.) and both the meaning of the song and our thoughts were all brought here together by each other. I just went through a house fire that almost took my life, and I lost everything, and I last listened to this song in middle school. Everyone survived, and I got a new home, and this just feels really different to listen to and I couldn't be happier. ;; I even had stalkers who hate me for being a girl online come and laugh at my dismay but I rose above and built something nicer than what I had before and everyone who bullied me during my time of grief backed off and I'm in such a good place now.

I feel like the meaning of this song is proclaimed unclear, but it's stated for you. "So even if you're broken up inside You gotta stand and fight ‘Cause it’s the only heart you’ve got and might've forgotten That a life shines brightly, that’s what makes it life! So even if you’re tearing at the seams or falling to your knees Just remember that it shows you're trying to move ahead And by the end, the people who laugh aren't your friends And yet even then, the world goes around and starts over again" To summarize: Life sucks, but thats why it's life. And even if you feel like everything is happening to you, the world is hating you, you have to work through it. And being sad just shows you're moving forward. If you're "friends" laugh, tell you you're weird, don't respect that you are sad, that you may be acting differently, they aren't your friends. The characters are symbolisms for our personalities, and how life can change us. This is my opinion, nothing to deep I hope xD

i'd say that is one of the messages in this, something people often miss is that most songs have more than one meaning, not in the sense that it's subjective or whatever, but a song can be about more than 1 thing, i'd say that to some degree you are right, but on top of that i'd add that everyone has their reasons for things, no matter how unreasonable someone seems to you, how cruel they might seem, remember that the french revolution was technically included terrorism as well, even when it was viewed primarily as a rightious cause it still used methods that hurt people, this isn't even to mention how it was immediately proceeded with the message being perverted as they ruthlessly slaughtered anyone they disagreed with, the original circumstances made it clear that change was needed, so they did something about it and then when they succeeded they attained power they didn't know what to do with, so they continued to kill, now it was just without a fair cause basically, learn about even the most brutal and evil people, for they might have been on to something, whether they were right in how it ended or not, even if it's just knowing why they ended up that way it means you can prevent anyone else from experiencing the circumstances that led to their twisted mentality, prevent someone from giving up on humanity after everyone they've encountered in their life so far has been cruel to them or was unable to help them with something that seemed like it should be such a simple fix for anyone else

Despite that, I needed an excuse to practice my Japanese, so please find my proof for why she actually did not sugar-coat the lyrics, at least not in that particular set, under the cut. So, I know some Japanese, and more importantly I know a dictionary site called Denshi Jisho where I can look up words I don't know, so I'm going to give you a super-raw, super-literal translation of these two lines. *Disclaimer--I'm an amateur, and I know much less Japanese than either of the translators Juby based the video off of. However, I think I know enough to be helpful.* If you're not interested, ignore me. :) So the lyrics, according to Vocaloid Wiki are this: 黙れこの役立たず / 早く何処か行ってくれ or "damare kono yakutatazu / hayaku dokoka ittekure" "Damare" is the command form of "to be silent." "Kono" is a particle; in this sentence it seems to be used to mark what should shut up as being near the speaker, though it could also be performing another function. It's not that important to my point. "Yakutatazu" according to Denshi Jisho, means "useless" or "deadhead." So a very literal translation of this line, to my knowledge, would be "Shut up, useless." "Hayaku" means "hurry" or "hurry up." "Dokoka" means "somewhere." "Itte" is a form of "to go," and when you add "kure" to the end, you're commanding the person to do it for you. A super-literal translation might be, "Do me a favor, hurry up and go away somewhere." But then, why does Collena's translation have profanity? It's possible that "yakutatazu" has connotations I don't know about. She may have been trying to show how rude the line is--the grammar is minimal and direct in a way that untranslate-ably compounds the insult. But the other translation Juby mentions doesn't include profanity, because it isn't in the explicit text of the song. So, the super-literal translation: "Shut up, useless / Do me a favor, hurry up and go away somewhere." Juby's version: “Why don’t you shut your ugly mouth and just go? / Don’t wanna see you! Get outta my way!” Seems to me that the spirit of the lyrics was preserved, and the rude tone was conveyed. I see no problems here.
