Jimmy Page wanted Terry to be the vocalist in his "New Yardbirds" (Led Zepplin) but Reid had already committed to a US tour with Clapton and company so he suggested trying one Robert Plant who he had heard in a band he'd shared a bill with back in England. Later he turned down a spot in Deep Purple giving it over to Ian Gillian. Terry's still performing today. I see on his website he's cancelled a show for tomorrow night at Under The Bridge in London because of a chest ailment and re-scheduled for June the 2nd. Maybe you should check him out.
