Thanks for sharing this excellent adventure into the wild with your very affordable options in equipment. The Pygmy rattlesnake was the best find on your walk! You can put a sheet of plexiglass between your camera and venomous snakes so you can defeat the heat signature and remain protected as you get right in there :) There really needs to be a backpack-style umbrella holder for image-makers :)

I've had this lens for a while and haven't really used it. Was looking at a cheap alternative to a really expensive Laowa macro probe lens. But this looks like it can work for what I have in mind. I also like the way paced your video and explained things. Easy to follow, which encourages someone looking to get into macro photography to stick around to learn from you. Well done.

The Olympus lens is 213 gm with lens hood, no caps. It's AF, but MF is available. It's now on my OM-D E-M1x camera, the heaviest Olympus camera, but it has GPS and two batteries. It's splash proof, so extend the hood to keep the glass dry, shield the flash and keep on shooting. The camera supports focus bracketting, 50 megapixels hand held, high resolution (not concurrently), 80 on a dripod.

Great video, great photos! I have a question regarding the DCR250, its diameter is given for 49mm, the same as the diameter of the front lens of the 7 artisan. Nevertheless, the video shows you screwing a step down ring to attach the DCR. What did I miss?

Actually, I had the version one of this lens and switched to version 2 and regret it. Incredibly, the first iteration of it, with the protruding tube and everything, was sharper and easier to use since it has a longer working distance.

@@huskythnoname4697 2x magnification creates a little bit of fish eye effect across the entire frame without cropping. Isn't a 1x better if not cropping?

I started using Olympus for macro a couple of years ago. I use their entry level omd em10. It's light weight, micro four thirds depth of field and it's in built focus stacking makes for much easier hand held focus stacks. Heavy gear can take the fun out of photography.

Personally I'd still go for the Laowa 65mm, which is quite comparable in size and weight but with the added flexibility of 2:1, but at less than half the price, this seems to be a very nice alternative

Respected. Where it can be bought Laowa for half the price cheaper. Maybe I didn't understand you. I have a Tamron 90mm and I am very satisfied. am I uninformed that this "7Artisans 60mm f / 2.8" lens is better than Tamron
