It really is extraordinarily what Tesla are achieving now. Just wish the others would throw a six and start producing the EVs they build at some serious scale
@nickmcconnell12912 ай бұрын
Hah! Good luck with that! They will only build enough EVs to meet emission standards for their fleets and to balance out the cost of buying ZEV credits from Tesla. It's just a maximization of profit per qtr. equation for the OEMs. They seem incapable of caring whether they survive longer than the CEO plans to stay.

@@GWAForUTBE Actually Tesla said, at the ceremony to start construction, that it would be used as a model to show other companies and interested parties how to refine Lithium in a new way. Two more reasons for introducing the Cybertruck now: (1) Kind of hinted at but not stated explicitly, is that the CT drives home to a part of the population that has long believed that EVs are necessarily too weak for real work that an EV can be the toughest and strongest vehicle around (filed under Marketing); (2) In preparation for a robotaxi fleet it is necessary for widespread adoption to have some portion of available vehicles to be able to carry a substantial amount of cargo.

I'd suggest that the cost of including brand new tech in the Cybertruck that is produced in relatively low volumes makes far more sense than 'testing it' in a mass market vehicle such as a $25,000 Tesla?

It wont be a revolution until the contractors who use trucks in their work flock to the cybertruck and abandon all the other brands of HD pickups there are in America and so far, NO ONE contractor has posted ANYTHING about using a cybertruck on the job. Why do you suppose that is? If the cybertruck was an AMAZING jobsite workhorse would not the army of contractors in the US be wanting to brag about it to the online world? Deep down, I think we all know why the contractor community has been absolutely silent about the cybertruck. Incidently, since the intro of the cybertruck diesel HD pickup sales have been and still is a strong as ever. !
@douglasolsson77682 ай бұрын
Wrong. There are contractors posting about using the Cybertruck. What can't it do? Does an F-150 Rust, dent and scratch? Yep! Does an f-150 have air compressor in the bed, 110 and 220? Can it lower the rear of the truck for easier loading, greater towing, higher ground clearance, rear wheel steering? Both can haul sheet goods too.

Well, the Cyber Truck is a Ugly thing as trucks go! It may get a couple of percent of the world pick up truck market even if they do the slightly lass expensive version! But the thing is 96% of people say it is too damn ugly, even most Tesla Fan Boys said on seeing it rolled out by Elon for the 1st time, " Come on Elon where is the real Truck? " put away this made up joke of a truck? They were not happy when he said no really this is it. The thing is, most truck buyers like normal looking pick up trucks not a ugly silver cheese wedge on wheels design! Buyers for many decades got used to and expected to see the same basic shape and style of pick up trucks they all grew up loving? Sure over the many years of pick up's the designs slowly were a bit more rounded off here and there and had the newest tech upgrades etc. consistent So it is out now and selling, But remember buyers in this market are very old school when it comes down to design styling of trucks and love the classic looks!
